As an elementary librarian, you have just given me a plethora of ideas for the discarded book covers that are still in decent condition to repurpose. Thank you, Natasha for your abundance of creative ideas. The red cover with the circle designs on it is my favorite.

Natasa, I've been making junk journals for over eight years and I give them all away at Little Free Libraries and the Senior Center, sometimes outside regular libraries. I've heard of other makers giving their handmade journals to cancer centers, children's wards at hospitals, etc. While I realize that many people need to sell their journals or even take consignments, making journals is for me to enjoy and I really don't care if a certain person will like my work or leave it for the next person. In fact, I include a little note that starts out, "It Found You So It's Yours," which lets the finder know what a junk journal is and if they want to take it or leave it. I firmly believe the journal will find its way to someone who needs it right then - and for FREE! It might be an idea you want to do with some of your journals because, believe it or not, giving away things you love is so fulfilling. I love your work and I would be over the moon if one of your journals found its way into my hands.
Thank you so much for posting this! There are several little free libraries near me I'm embarrassed that I didn't think of this. I love making journals but I don't journal much myself and have a bunch of smaller journals that I've made collecting dust up in my craft room. I don't want to force them on friends and family as unsolicited gifts but also don't feel comfortable selling them for some reason. I love the idea of then Finding their way to someone that needs them ❤
I love your post I have been creating paper crafts ft or years I give mine as donation for f um bedsheets senior centers for bingo prizes large journals to cancer support groups briefs groups I just love papers crafts
I could hardly believe you actually made a postage stamps folio out of a large book cover, whilst I was desperately seeking to purchase such a thing, since I recently got so many postage stamps... And there YOU are with this video! Your creations are gorgeous. Thank you very much for sharing your art with us! You are amazing. I could watch all of your videos and then start all over again! 😄
I cannot believe waking up this morning and this was your video. Sitting in the floor in my craft room are about 30 children’s book covers after a week of taking out all the parts I wanted to keep. Didn’t know what I was going to do with them, so thank you for the great ideas!
My favorite part of the entire video besides your incredible talent is: " Glue it DOOOWWWN!" I say this all the time now 🙃😅 Side note: I use a product called The Boss by Dixie Belle Paint, or Bonding boss for furniture painting, it would also probably work for those shiny book covers. Love your videos! We all love you, you wouldn't even have to do a creative video at all and we would still watch, love your humor, your voice.. I'm not stalking you! I promise 🤣 You just get me out of a funky depression is all! Thank you for being you!
My mom and I watch you all the time. She lives in New Mexico and I live in Kentucky. When we talk, we talk about you and your videos like you are an old friend. Love your videos and Banjo! ❤
I feel the same way! I binge and save save save. Thank you for saying the sewing was made through the paper and not the cover… I see myself breaking my sewing machine otherwise.
You are truly the junk journal queen. I am inspired by every one of your posts and I appreciate the way you explain and illustrate even the smallest details. In fact, you are the one who got me hooked on journaling (during COVID quarantine!) and I'm happy to share that I have two craft fairs approaching where I will be featuring my journals (wish me luck!) 😊 Thank you for being you!
I have watched all your videos and used many ideas for my first junk journal plus ideas of my own. I won a blue ribbon at our county fair! Thank you for sharing your ideas and inspiration.
By subscribing to your channel I have an encyclopedia of your fabulous artwork, inspiration, down to earth instructions. Do not sell any of your journals, folios, etc until/unless you really want to. Your portfolio of art is priceless and precious and so much a part of you. You're amazing, awe inspiring but down to earth making your art doable for me though i try not to copy you exactly so that when I'm done with a make it feels like mine. Really happy you, is it virtually, in my life, you've opened my brain to possibilities i didn't know existed.
Oh girl, soul mate from another country. My shelves are also full. Many journals have not even been utilized by me, but I don't want to part with them YET. When I've made embellishments over the years, I always have an extra to put in a box so I can go back and see the different treasures I've made over the years. It still brings me joy. I recently decided to pack up a chest of drawers I used for jewelry making supplies. And went to the thrift store and bought another tall shelf to put in its place. Lol. JJ is my passion now. I agree that collecting is also a joyous hobby. My house is generally nice and neat EXCEPT my craft room is very packed full including all the walls. I love it! But, I'm gonna follow your advice and start making more. I also move from project to project. I think I need to revisit your book, so thanks for that reminder. I'm ALWAYS inspired by you. ❤ TY
Hope you feel better, Natasa! Even when you don’t feel well, you provide such inspiration and beauty into our lives. Thank you for sharing your talent.
😅You always make my day! Your comments are fun and make me smile and your creativity is out of this world! THANK you for sharing your wonderful talents with the world! As a newbie, I am absolutely enthralled with all of your ideas...you make the world better, Natasa!
I covered them in fabric , punched holes along the wide side and attached snap rings in to the holes . I remove the spine , so the covers are loose and mobile . And then I would take some folder slip sheets and I would place them into the snap rings . And I would storage my stencils in it . I have large A4 stencils that I use very often and I always need it to keep them tidy and I one place . I have now 4 stencils holding books . The number of pages/slip sheets can be put in depends on the size of the snap ring . And now to sit back and relax ,enjoying another session of Marvels from paper by Natasa 🤩 Thank you 💐 PS .Just heard you saying you are feeling not very well 🤒 Speedy recovery 🙏
Your least liked is my most favorite. The decal edges can be fixed by using paint. Put paint on a sponge and tap around the edge of the decal to blend it in. Talented lady I love how you inspire.
I recently was wondering what I was going to do with these and there you are and I wonder no more. Thank you Natasa for “knowing” what I needed. You’re a treasure!
AMAZING! You are such an inspiration. The hardest part for me is getting started. I worked in a library for years and have a hard time even thinking about disassembling a book; especially, after all those years of repairing them. I love your humor, presentation, and attention to even the smallest detail and share them with us! Someday I'll get the nerve together and make one of these for my sisters and put famiky pics in it. Thank you Natasha. Stay well and safe! 🤗
I love listening to you while you work. You sound so comfortable with your different accents 😂 and the way you speak. And as it should be. You are awesome at what you do and I love all of your videos ❤
You are such an authority in everything related to junk journals to me, you cannot even guess the extent of it. A lot of inspiration. Always. And 'glue it down' is my mantra now, you dramatically articulated it often enough to make it happen. ♥♥♥
I was listening to your old vids last night and you were so timid back then 😂 I so love your creativity and wait every week for your newest creation ❤️
Another one of your tutorials I could not stop watching although I had chores to do! Lost myself in your beautiful art. Thank you so much! Chores can wait, ART can’t. Right? The red cover with the white circles would be my favorite.
Natasha, you are one of the best teachers, of anything, that I have ever encountered! Thank you for your generosity in sharing, with no limits, your incredible talents and creativity. You are truly a gift. When you showed your own childhood stamp collection I was flooded with sweet memories (and tears) of my wonderful brother and his coin collection. What a tender gift you gave me! Humble suggestion: consider making color copies of your cherished stamps so you preserve the originals but have fun of incorporating them into your incredible works of art. My thanks you are truly unlimited, rivaled only by your talent, inspiration and creativity. And hilarity! Warmest regards.
My next project will be making a book of cards and these are an inspiration for sure! Those stamp books are wonderful and such a keepsake! As usual you never cease to amaze!❤👍 Be well, take care of YOU!👍❤️
Crazy coincidence, I got this exact same book for free from a church op shop. YESTERDAY, in WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND ! Love your work, thank you for sharing. ❤
Hi, you're truly amazing. Honestly, you're one of 4 people that I go to on YT, for ideas and inspiration. That's 4 out of thousands of YT tutors. You're brilliant and unique in all that you do. Please don't ever stop what you do. Thank you for sharing your creations with us. I know how time consuming everything is for all of you, and I truly appreciate it. Have a great weekend. Take care, xx❤❤😊😊
I love your work, you are incredibly talented. I am a fan. I appreciate your video editing. I really like that you don't include excessive antiquing of edges, talk about your dog, or repeating actions. Your videos are clear and concise yet your personality shines through.
Natasha, you are a queen of repurposing beautifully everything that comes to your hand. You are a mine of ideas. May God bless you more and more. You inspire lots of people like me. Thank you. ‐ (Rani from France).❤👌👏🙌👍🙏
How lovely they all are! I have been watching your videos for years now, more than four years, and I'm still learning new things. Thank you for your wonderful tutorials! I find it interesting that you can't part with the journals you make. I can easily sell or give away mine. I am so attached to them while I'm making them, but once I am done, my attachment diminishes. I do take photos so I can look back to see what I have done, but the only ones I keep are some that I make to use on a specific trip or for a particular event.
Yes I sure do agree Natasa, they “ARE all stunningly beautiful and gorgeous”!! I really love all the different set ups each hold and cover ideas! Love your red, black, gold, white painted one. I’d find it hard to give or sell them too! Feel better 💕
You are so amazing and hugely talented, plus an awesome teacher, always so clear and very easy to follow. These, as per usual, are all so wonderful and I thank you for all you do for us crafters, bless you 🥇🏆🫶🏼🦘🏴
Thankyou Natasa for being an inspiration to me your craft experience has taught us how to reuse and recycle and make simple items into works of art. I would like to see a video on decorative fake writing to add interest to our journals.
I work at a college and the college discards books they feel they cannot donate I love your beautiful books , you are an inspiration, Thank You for sharing.
thank you so much for doing this tutorial. i have many tall books with no idea what to do with but now i have lots of inspiration and going to be busy this weekend. I love learning new things.
Tfs and inspiring. 💞 My favourite is the black lace spine with the lace pockets inside. ♥️ I have a hard time selling what I create and also have no more storage room. I give away some things just so I can have some storage space to create something new. 🤗
So many beautiful ideas. I think I like the folios/folders best - so many possibilities for what they could hold. And I agree that the more 'things' in each one the better! The biggest tip I got was to make and attach all the pockets etc before gluing the inner cover down. Carpet tape - I better go get me some! Thanks for the beauty extravaganza 🥰🤩
You are truly the most creative, imaginative person! All of your work is beautiful and I truly love watching your channel to see what you will come up with next! Always a wonderful creation!
I make my journals for family and friends. Kinda catered to them, ya know? Anyway, sometimes I struggle with what to do for a specific person. I always find something watching your videos!! Thank you!!
Wow, I have just reused all the pages from a 22 volume plant dictionary/ encyklopidiary, so guess what I have left 😂 22 large covers ❤ You just made my day, Goddess of Junk Journaling ❤ Greetings from Denmark 😊
You are amazing and I’m so grateful for you and your videos. There’s not many famous people I would cross the street to meet, but I would cross the LA freeway for you! 😂
So inspiring! I’m going to make a few folios in different color themes with paper, stickers, washi, etc., so that when we’re traveling I can just grab a couple in whatever colors I’m in the mood for and have materials to work with on the road!
What a fantastic video, Natasha! Such useful ideas for large covers. I love the use of fabric only for the spines! Like everyone says, you are a fabulous instructor...I could listen to you all day...and I just love your sense of humour! 😍
I love this project. I can't wait to try this. I love them all. I think the one with the black lace and the birds is my favorite. Thank you for sharing.
Natasha, you are awesome. I love your videos and your book. Both are helping me create journals for my granddaughters for Christmas. You are a great teacher with great knowledge and you make me laugh. Your videos are never boring. Thank you!
19:36 Just watched your marvellous video, which inspired me a lot like your videos always do. Your creativity knows no limit. But as to the ways of covering your book covers , I've often done this: Take a book cover, where the inside is also decorated or has beautiful graphics. Switch the front and the back, and use the cover "inside out". I have done a lot of journals like that.
I can't pick a favorite....because I love them all. I pretty much love everything you create, and I can't blame you for not wanting to sell your projects.
Needed this! My book covers were piling up... You might try hiding those decal edges with white gesso blending in the watercolor paints of your choice. Try using different motions with your finger as you blend such as swirls, smudges, drags, ... You get not only creative color mixtures but also a multitude of textures. Easy to clean up as it is all water based (=adult finger painting).
Love all your Journals, so Exquisite the lace , the colors, the pockets, very odd and unique, you are truly a genius, and gifted, keep up the marvelous work TFS 🥰😊
I'm so glad I didn't throw away the large covers from old books I've disassembled! This is such an awesome and practical idea. Thanks so much for sharing!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Use a heat gun or blow dryer on that tag on the back of the flower journal. It will heat the glue on the tag and make it peel right off. I have a few covers that I didn’t know what to do with but now I do. As always, thanks for the ideas. Love and hugs.
This is a terrific procedure Natasha You are so talented dear ❤️, your crown is sparkling 😊 I will definitely be trying this idea, Thanks for all the inspiration, Love and hugs and a scratch behind Banjos ear! 😊 Maggie ❤️🤗🇨🇦❤️
So amazing! ❤You are a treasure of ideas! Not only are you creative and inspiring but also a fabulous instructor. It is obvious the amount of of time you spend to film these videos. Thank you so much. ❤❤❤
Love all of your ideas you have become my favorite creator/ artist I watch . Looking forward to trying some of your ideas as soon as I get over surgery from a complicated knee replacement slow process
I’ve just found your channel last week and I really want to say that you are such a cozy person to watch and listen to. And you teach really-really well. I can’t stop watching, even tho I was searching for one specific thing, I just went on to watch everything else. Just because it is such a joy to watch you! Thank you for sharing your craft and being there for us, you brighten our mood! Much love! 💕
I love them all! I was just looking at my pile of large book covers yesterday and wondering what I should do with them. Thank you for the gorgeous ideas.

I have a hard time parting with my journals that I make too, but don’t have enough space to keep them all. Great idea for larger books.

My next project will be making a book of cards and these are an inspiration for sure!

I have such a lot of old scrapbooking paper I bought a bundle, it’s great to know how to use it with your ideas .
I have lots of books that will be fun to transform. Thank you for doing many ideas. This will fill my winter days. ❤
I'm so glad you found some inspiration! 😊
Thank you so much ❤️
Natasa, you can take an ugly item and make it beautiful! It's a great talent! Thank you! Blessings
Thank you so much ❤️
Nice to ‘see’ you. With curly paper I roll it against the way it curls to help uncurling.
That's a great tip, thank you for sharing!
I love this project. I can't wait to try this. I love them all. I think the one with the black lace and the birds is my favorite. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you like them
Natasha, you are awesome. I love your videos and your book. Both are helping me create journals for my granddaughters for Christmas. You are a great teacher with great knowledge and you make me laugh. Your videos are never boring.
Thank you!
I wait for Natasha to tell me! lol ❤ these are great, of course 😊
🤣🤣 Thank you!
I still have my childhood stamp collection too🥰 I love to touch and look at it because it brings back all the warm childhood memories.
I can't pick a favorite....because I love them all. I pretty much love everything you create, and I can't blame you for not wanting to sell your projects.
Thank you for this video. I had a book fall apart. Now, I can use the covers to make something fabulous.
You are so welcome! I'm so glad you found it helpful!
I'm glad you found it helpful!
So clever! I never thought of using books like this.
Thanks so much! I love finding new uses for old things :)
Use a heat gun or blow dryer on that tag on the back of the flower journal. It will heat the glue on the tag and make it peel right off. I have a few covers that I didn’t know what to do with but now I do. As always, thanks for the ideas. Love and hugs.
That is such a great tip! Thank you so much
You are genius! I was literally JUST thinking about what to do about the spines of journals I want to make! Mind reader….😊❤ Thanks Natasa😊
I'm glad this was helpful! 😊
