I know this is a pretty old video, but I still wanted to comment :). I love your channel, your tutorials are so easy to follow and I love how you point out that nothing is really a mistake. This video in particular inspired me. I recently made a journal using this technique and filled it with personal ephemera that I inherited from my Grandmother who sadly took her life before I was born. I gave this to my mother (her daughter) and she cried pretty hard while looking at it, but she loved it and said my grandmother would also have loved how I used her old papers and notes. Thank you for touching my family's hearts by sharing your art and how to make it my own.
If noone has explained to you yet, that when you zigzag off the edge of the paper to give your journal an edging, it called "overcasting". An overcast stitch. I know this is an old video, but having just found your channel I'm beginning to realize I can do this. I have a friend who wanted a paper placemat written on and she was just going to tuck it away some place and eventually it will be ruined. But with the different techniques I have seen in the last few days, I'm going to be able to preserve that placemat for her to treasure for the rest of her life. She is 88. Noone knows how long we will be here, but to preserve this placemat from Mother's Day 2024, will make a special gift for her. So thank you for sharing your talent.

I just discovered your channel today from your tutorial on how to make fancy pens, then you taught me how to make the most BEAUTIFUL paper beads that I am just dying to try. I have calendars my mother collected since the 90s as well as SO many National Geographic magazines that my father collected for many many years. I havent been able to throw them away due to sentimental reasons so I have been keeping them stored away for crafts to try one day. You have inspired me to try so many new things this year and I cannot wait. Thank you for taking the time to make these amazing videos. Your channel is a gold mine!!!

Love your “mistakes” that is probably the most helpful to learn and see how you repair it because that might be where I would get frustrated and stop the project. I absolutely love these creations of yours. Thank you for your endless inspiration!
I was just thinking of an idea with window. Say you have envelopes with window that you cant use. Save the window and adhere to back side. Before completely sealed, add confetti, glitter,. etc and have a shaker window. What do you think? Make it special by adding something that connects you to a person.
As a tip for the inner layers of serviettes / napkins: I folded them accordion-style (like tissues are folded within a box) and put them into a lidded box with a hole cut in the top, like an oversized tissue box. I keep them on my craft table and use them for cleaning, or for paint brushes, etc.
I'm not sure how I ended up here, but I watched the whole thing and though I'm not much of a stamper/paper crafter, I am loving your artistry. What care and thought you put into these journals-they're beautiful!

I have just discovered this channel while looking for inspiration for my 2020 planner, and I immediately realized that I need many, many more of this type of practical, slow paced, detailed, precise and clearly understandable tutorial videos, where I can actually follow the instructions with my own inspiration and add some "papery" beauty to my life. So glad I found you, I feel that there will be some binging on your videos, with a cup of hot tea this evening...
Hehe Aranyani, thank you SO much!!! I also came across this craft years ago, by accident, while looking at planners. I have been gripped by this obsession ever since, and never looked back!
Watching video on Journal books, I was inspired. ( I have re-used envelopes & spare paper for notes). Now, I will make the journal book idea using junk envelopes & misc paper. Thank you for the inspiration to CREATE…
You are very good as an instructor. I also watched without wanting to fast forward. I’ve accumulated quite a bit of stuff over the years with journaling in mind, but never put it all together. Thank you.
Thank you for showing how you make these journals. I love it. I like working with window envelopes. I will be making some of these. I particularly like your brad closure. It will work on some of the journals I make using other envelopes for covers. Happy crafting.
This is wonderful! I grab all the return envelopes that we get and save them for creating altered envelopes! You have given me a new way to use them! This is lovely!!! Thank you❤️❤️❤️
I have been doing the same but not knowing yet what I was going to do with all of them. I swear I must have close to a hundred of them, LOL. Well I sure know what to do with them now.

I love this. I have always wanted to do journals. Your tutorial makes me believe I can. I did make some back in High School. But, that was a long time ago. I love making paper ruffles.
Interesting and lovely journals. 💖 Wonderful napkins too. There are so many pretty napkin patterns. Perfect for writing positive affirmations on the pages. Just a tip to eliminate napkin waste: The excess napkin pieces can be turned into Papier Mâché pulp by adding it to your glue with a bit of water. Great textures can be created. I like the idea of reusing the envelopes. Thank you for sharing your creative process.

You are the best at explaining...you take care that your procedure is understood for the novice!
What a lovely idea for a ordinary window envelope. Thank you for sharing. I plan on making some.
Have fun creating Stephanie!! Thank you
Thank you for giving me permission to toss the backing of my napkins! Love you so much!
Lovely jubbly! This is a great starter project for anyone; we all have envelopes and paper at home! Thank- you!
Oh my God! I did it!!! I did it!!!!.... From start to finish and it's beautiful! .. well not as beautiful as yours but beautiful ☺️
Thank you very much, now I have something productive I can do with all the junk mail I receive.
Now I want to receive even more junk mail.
Everything you touch gets awesome. Your art fascinates me! 💜
I love this idea. I also love the idea of the template to cut your papers to size. TFS
I love how you recycle things to make something new! Awesome!
Thank you Lynne!
Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching :)
Thank you for showing how you make these journals. I love it. I like working with window envelopes. I will be making some of these. I particularly like your brad closure. It will work on some of the journals I make using other envelopes for covers. Happy crafting.
I love this, am starting one for sure. You explained everything very well. No big deal about mistake. We all make them.
I have been making Halloween Altered Envelopes and plan to put them in my shop soon❤️
Thank you. I started to watch your tutorial and then decided, at the 45 minute mark, that I would come back to it later...That didn't happen, I watched the whole video. Great instructions, easy to follow and a joy to watch.
Thank you so much :)
Dear Natasha

"Oh that's not brown, is it??" Oh my goodness, so glad to see I'm not the only one who finds herself in such places! :) Wonderful video, thank you!
I'm so happy to have found this tutorial. You are so talented and a most wonderful teacher. You make sense of each step with such patience and calm, and I can't wait to use up my window envelopes I've been collecting.. Thank you for sharing... BRILLIANT!
Thank you so much Jen!!
I love this. I have always wanted to do journals. Your tutorial makes me believe I can. I did make some back in High School. But, that was a long time ago. I love making paper ruffles.
Linda!! Of course you can!! Time to get cracking! Just get started and you will love it. Anything goes!
Hi Natasa! My envelope has been covered and I'm being very impatient waiting for it to dry 😂 Thank you for your clear, step by step process - Jacquie
I LOVE these journals Natasha. ❤️. And I LOVE listening to your voice ❤️ you are so inspirational. Thank you so much
Hugs
Maggie

Thank you so much :)
These are great. I have a good stash of envelopes with different types of windows, some having two, some with very large windows, and they will work very well to make little journals for my friends who are just learning about how to use a junk journal. Your videos are the best, and I very much appreciate the written steps that I can capture and print for reference. It is very helpful to have a good idea of the order of the steps to be done.

This is so beautiful. Love your final step..... "Admire"!!
They make such gorgeous gifts! People are touched when they know that you (I) handmade them, and amazed by how they’re made / what they’re made of..
You’re so detailed and thorough ... kudos for time stamps in description. ✨🏆✨💖⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much!
When I do the binding , I poke the holes , I do the signatures, and the cover at the same time. Works well for me, plus saves time and no problems. 😊 Awesome tutorial 👌
You're so sweet... "I can't draw", you say it in every video almost. I'm the same, can't draw either. But then you are so very gifted in all your creative with all your journals etc. Love love love your videos. Been binge watching them in between chores + cooking etc. hahaha xxx
Heheh thank you so much Millie!!
I love these little journals. Thank you for the tutorial!
This is fabulous! I just found your channel. The stitch you used around the edge of the journal is called blanket stitch. The written steps are so helpful. Thanks so much.
Thank you Barbara and welcome to my channel!!
Pleasant to watch since you pace your talking and instructions so well. No agonizing moments of boredom with useless chatter or watching the glue dry. Love the way the instructions are written out for us to see. Wonderful journal and I will be making some, have been saving window envelopes for a while for a different purpose but these journals are a great idea. Thanks.
Thank you so much Rita 😊
