Hayabusa was always ahead of its time and it still is. When you compare a recent Bike with the Busa (a much older production) it says everything what lovely Busa is.❤❤
Busa is god, it's a legend like lexus lfa, 458 italia may be faster but it can't match the emotional value and build quality as lfa. Busa is king all over the world. Not only india.
I feel that the world is getting very small. These guys are racing around on damp, back roads.... in India? No need for any fast, wide, American interstates? Good, enthusiastic comparison as any other.
If I was in the market for one of these bikes I would opt for the Suzuki. Why? Pretty simple. The people from India take pride in their work. I was glad to find out that Suzuki opened an assembly facility there. I have never met someone from India that I didn't like. Always respectful. Always polite. Buying a product made or assembled in India helps the Indian economy and generates jobs there. And no. Im not Indian. Great review. Thank you gentlemen! Best of luck to both of you with your channel. Thumbs up and subscribed for life.
The Busa was once my favourite bike.. and then i started being inclined towards the supersports and superbikes with thier sharp looks and cutting edge gadgetary.. But this review has put the Busa back in the list.. Good Job Autocar.. This is one of your finest comparisons..
As a motorcycle mechanic, give me the Hayabusa any day to service and tune !! The ZX14 is an absolute nightmare to work on, and a whole lot more time consuming and therefore more expensive....!! The design of the frame around the Suzuki engine makes for easy access to plugs and removing cylinder head cover for valve inspection... on the ZX14 (and GTR14) the single spar frame goes over the top of the motor, on,y leaving you a few inches to get your hands into measure and adjust valve clearances... the ZX14 is an absolute nightmare to work on and I generally refuse to work on them... The Hayabusa fairings, left and right side, can be removed in 15 minutes or less, but the ZX14 ??!! All I can say is good luck !! The Hayabusa has 3 fairings to remove, the rear under carriage, and two side fairings, that's all... I can't remember how many pieces of fairing have to be removed on the 14 !! Last week I serviced a 2010 ZX6R, and it had no less than 14 pieces of fairing that all had to be removed in order to measure the valve clearances... !! A mechanics nightmare when reassembling.... I've worked on thousands of motorcycles over the last 40 years, I spent several years on the spanners at a Kawasaki dealership, and have never had so many new bike warranties in all my life...!! Kawasaki's are made to a price, not a standard, they use cheap plastics and paint, engineering practices are questionable to say the least, where as the Suzuki counterpart, are well engineered (as are most Suzuki), and are just about bullet proof in my opinion... The Hayabusa is a 'Cult' bike, and for a very good reason, I wonder if same can be said for the ZX14 ? I have to admit one thing though, the Hayabusa needs an upgrade, new shape, new design, let's hope that Suzuki does it justice when they finally do... !!
Thank you so much for giving an opinion through a mechanics eyes and experience. That’s one area where no matter how many videos you watch and study a particular bike it takes someone who has dealt with something as common as maintenance on these bikes to give his or her perspective and it’s priceless.
You are exactly right! I love both machines, but when I got my Hayabusa, I was very impressed at the way the factory engineered everything for function and accessibility. A lot of guys are hoping for upgrades in years to come, but I actually appreciate the more simplistic nature of the Hayabusa. I appreciate you bringing up this point, because it's something a lot of people overlook. Absolutely nothing against Kawasaki though. I've been a Kawasaki guy my whole life, from my KZ1000's to my ZRX 1200. I believe it's really just a matter of finding what suits you as a rider, and going with what works. When it comes to all four of the Japanese companies, It's really kind of hard to find a bad motorcycle.
Janne Näsström Lol, idiot! They are the best. Go check out who is winning WBSK championship from last 3 years. Also Ninjas look amazing. The very example is this video. Busa looks like that of a weird alien 👽 face while Kawa is sharper, intimidating
I've been watching old bike videos on this channel from couple of weeks, so fascinated by the the superbike prices then vs now. Prices didn't go bonkers like we've seen in small displacement bikes. Maybe because nowadays most of them are assembled here instead of CBU in past
Before Watching this video, I would just like to thank Autocar India from bottom of my heart for this comparison. I have got to watch exactly what I was wishing for since past few months.. The meanest beasts on two wheels.. looking for jaw dropping experience..
Your analysis is very relevant: these two motorcycles are fantastic, the ZX14R is more recent with a slightly bigger engine but it appears that (at least in India) its price is much higher so the Hayabusa price is significantly more competitive. I possessed two Hayabusa (between 2000 and 2012) and I am aware very well of the qualities of the Hayabusa. Finally, if I have to choose now (2020) between these two bikes and taking into account the significant difference of price between these two bikes I will probably choose again the Hayabusa. Excellent video. Greeting from France to our Indian friends.
I got my first Busa in 2003, my second in 2008. In 2012 I moved on & got a BMW K 1200 S, no regrets. In 2015 I bought a BMW K1300 R & still have it. I liked BMW's technical developments more than straight line performance or annual revised paint jobs on the Suzuki.
It depends on what you as a rider chooses to do with which ever bike you choose. If you're a guy who likes to lean into the corners go with the busa, but if you want the speed and comfortable long distance ride go with the zx14. I have ridden both bikes but I l like the zx14 better because it's not hard on my back 👍😊..but both bikes are awesome!👍
Great review. I ended up going with a new 2015 ZX14R and couldn't be happier. I came from a Gen 1 busa, but the Kawi won me over. For some reason, the dealer let me have it for $11k brand new! Hayabusa's were closer to $14,500 and without traction control. It seems to be the reverse here where Kawi's are cheaper. Also, I use the traction control constantly. It's nice to not have to be so vigilant with the throttle, especially as the colder months approach.
I love the honesty in these guys! Absolutely everything they said was true and correct! Whenever anyone is comparing a Hayabusa to anything else modern they need to realise however that the Hayabusa hasn't progressed past ABS as its most recent factory improvement. So in saying that.... comparing anything else to the Hayabusa is like comparing analog to digital.
I personally love the Hayabusa because of her torque band 😘😍😎💋 the bike pulls you so quickly Nd furiously it feels like we are riding a space shuttle on 2 wheels in my opinion the Hayabusa rocks 👌👍😍😎
Boys, its so amazing to see both of you in a comaprison test. Looking forward to many more such comparison tests. PD & Kartikkeya as always amazing job done.Kudos
Both excellent bikes, I've been riding ZZR Kawasaki's since the 1100 c1 days and they invented this whole class. The Busha is no slouch and hard ridden is awesome but on the road the big Z has it for me I'm afraid.
You gotta love these manufacturers for building these types of beast at a very affordable price; Love the enthusiasm and passion of these review experts; good to see the love for muscle bikes around the world, drive safe fellows!! Can't go wrong with either bike!
I owned an '07 ZX-14, put 70k miles on it, she was an awesome bike, fast, comfy ergos, power anywhere, but handling wasn't it's strong suit, even the slightest bump would unsettle the chassis in a turn, I'm 6'8" 320lbs, so I could handle it, but it's always in the back of your mind in a corner. I demo rode the 2017 Hayabusa at bike week, for me its pretty much as comfortable at the 14, smooth power 2nd gear pulls like a freight train, the Brembo brakes and ABS are welcome additions and work very well, in the corners it's more planted and the suspension ant chassis aren't upset by bumps. I recommend riding both bikes and figuring out which one works for you.
Many motorcycle will come and go but Hayabusa will always have its own charm....suzuki is doing a great job by not revising the design it is just perfect...suzuki hits the bulls eye in the first attempt...addition of TCS will make it a great tourer
i own both i cant trust the busa when cornering at any level and also the breaks are awful. Its unstable and the suspension need more adjustment the busa seat is like setting on a piece of wood..kawasaki has comfy seat and you can feel more confidence on the coroner when it comes to breaks it just fantastic the old nissen brakes or the new brembo
I was surprised that ZZR1400 was mentioned to be more bulky in this review. It's first time I've seen this. Afaik 90% of reviewers that have ridden both bikes have mentioned Kawasaki to be much more nimble bike to handle. I have ZZR1400 and was very surprised that if felt pretty much as nimble as my old ZX-9R which obviously though is a much older sports bike.
In stock form the 14r is king but when it comes to aftermarket support and tunability the answer is busa. On the other hand Busa's aesthetics are not for everyone. Whichever you choose though there's no way you're losing, both are amazing motorcycles!
Love watching these Indian guys doing reviews........great presenters and so passionate about the bikes.Absolutely amazing country.....would love to ride a bike over there.
Love these guys, I keep watching this review a dozen times. I own the ZX14R... but this vid makes me wanna get the Busa also. Any reason why someone should own both of these? :)))
Nice production and great spirits, guys! I feel like you are my buddies! BUT, if you tweak the ZX suspension (it comes a bit soft) to your riding style (assume we want better sport riding), it comes to life. I put a nice Brock's header on mine, too, and saved 40 lbs., and it can dice in corners very well.
After owning a Busa for 13 years, and then finally getting a 2020 ZX-14R. As much as I loved the Busa, the ZX-14R was an upgrade. Definitely the Ninja is more refined, smooth and feels like a faster ride.
Great video guys iam in between on the twi but when i went to test them i like the zx14r because of the seating position. I tested the 2017 model hyabusa and the 2015 zx14r and i like the Kawasaki better because of the seating and riding ability. Busa stretches you out to much.
Great Motorcycles and Great Review.. but were these tests done on closed roads.. and at 5:55 the background and the bike looks like a painting. absolutely breathtaking shot..
Having owned both the bikes I have to say that ZX14R is a better bike. The Busa felt uncomfortable and far too stretched, also the vibrations get on your nerve after a while. The ZX14R is silky smooth and far comfortable than the Busa.
ZX14R is a beast. The immense power of the engine and the design of the motorcycle is quite intimidating especially with turning. Nvr ridden either one but pretty relevant isn't it??
Gotta say these videos are really well done! Thanks for sharing your insightful thoughts. If you are accepting suggestions/ ideas for future videos - I would love to see a track shootout of the new liter bikes/ middleweights.
Hi Kartikeya, very detailed review. I owned a busa 2008 sold in 2010. Then after a gap of 3 years got a 2011 Mv Agusta F4R..Sold that last year and got a 2015 Yamaha Vmax. Now awaiting what 2017 has to offer..will choose between an updated 2017 Mv Agusta f4rr else a Kawasaki H2 Street. Hoping for the best to come and you guys are doing an awesome job. Cheers..
can you please do a couple of more comparisons? like 1)Kawasaki zx14r vs Kawasaki zx10r? which one to buy (as an avg. city rider) 2)Kawasaki zx10r vs bmw s1000rr vs Yamaha R1? 3) Harley vs Indian chief
this is a very very honest review... i mean im a kawi fan however never i have always wanted to know the truth vs what fan boys say... thank you guys for this review and if you can explain to us why kawasaki uses top end and other bikes use midrange in power delivery.
Hey, it's down to the design and performance goals. You can have the same engine in a milder state of tune - less power - and it will feel different in nature and usability. Similarly, if you extract even more power, then the power band will shift to higher in the rev range. Have oversimplified it a bit. And, thanks for watching.
Excellent review. I owned a 2014 zzr1400 and it was a lovely bike. Just bought a new 2017 hayabusa because its the last of the dinosaurs, when its gone its gone. Whatever suzuki replace it with it will probably have loads of modes, digital displays, quickshifters etc etc and i dont want all that. I want to 'feel' the bike and bond with it when i ride. Its analogue not digital and thats a huge part of the appeal.
But nothing can beat Splendor. 0 - 100 in less than a week.
Hahaah
😂😂😂😂U forgot ct 100 bro
What about kinetic Luna the legend.
Mind boggling comment...

Busa is a mighty busa
No other can take her place
The Hayabusa is the Legend. When the ZX 14 (already) is forgotten the Hayabusa remains the iconic motorcycle.
Zx 14r has never been forgotten tho. Its a bike made for those who want the best, hayabusa on the other hand hangs purely on its reputation.
Facts!!!!!!!
Come line up with ZX 14R see what happens
Legends never die

Great video guys iam in between on the twi but when i went to test them i like the zx14r because of the seating position. I tested the 2017 model hyabusa and the 2015 zx14r and i like the Kawasaki better because of the seating and riding ability. Busa stretches you out to much.
thank you autocar india #respect guys
Great job on the review Kartikeya Singhee! Keep up the good work. Awaiting H2R review :)
Ghee-shakkar! H2 and H2R have been out of sight and reach! might have to buy one!
waiting for you to buy it 😜
Great Motorcycles and Great Review.. but were these tests done on closed roads.. and at 5:55 the background and the bike looks like a painting. absolutely breathtaking shot..
Great comparison video man 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
The name hayabusa feels the speed beast
Video production is too good..
Really professional!
These are my two favorite bikes I'm not sure I want to see this lol but I'm going with the Hayabusa
Assalamualikum im very happy with the way u reviewed the bikes its first video i hv seen of urs and i find the review even cooler than the MC garage.
Hayabusa for life 🥰✌️
Having owned both the bikes I have to say that ZX14R is a better bike. The Busa felt uncomfortable and far too stretched, also the vibrations get on your nerve after a while. The ZX14R is silky smooth and far comfortable than the Busa.
Thanks for this awesome review. 😊 A comparison test of the middleweights: Kawasaki Z800 vs Triumph Street Triple 675 would be great 😉
Cant wait for the new Street Triple 765! Then it'll be properly tight!
Excellent review! Saw this coming. Thou it's the Ninja that wins my heart everytime!
ZX14R is a beast. The immense power of the engine and the design of the motorcycle is quite intimidating especially with turning. Nvr ridden either one but pretty relevant isn't it??
Finally a great comparison!
Busa all day I really enjoy mine.
No matter how much technology evolves,Busa is always going to the be the king!! Kartikeya and PD,Fantastic Job Guys!!😎
hayabusa looks inocent while kawasaki looks clever and sharp😂😂😂
Gotta say these videos are really well done! Thanks for sharing your insightful thoughts. If you are accepting suggestions/ ideas for future videos - I would love to see a track shootout of the new liter bikes/ middleweights.
Hey Sanjay! Thank you for watching. Glad to know you liked it. Yep. Keeping our fingers crossed. You might see something soon. 😁😁
"Busa" design is same since launched
the design Will Look fresh even after years ...it's forever
Hi Kartikeya, very detailed review. I owned a busa 2008 sold in 2010. Then after a gap of 3 years got a 2011 Mv Agusta F4R..Sold that last year and got a 2015 Yamaha Vmax. Now awaiting what 2017 has to offer..will choose between an updated 2017 Mv Agusta f4rr else a Kawasaki H2 Street. Hoping for the best to come and you guys are doing an awesome job. Cheers..
Dooood!! Envious. Ride safe man!
Thnx bro. Ride safe n God Bless
And I just loved the Hayabusa for its design. I didn't even realise Hayabusa doesn't need to worry about import taxes, like, AT ALL!!
can you please do a couple of more comparisons?
like
1)Kawasaki zx14r vs Kawasaki zx10r? which one to buy (as an avg. city rider)
2)Kawasaki zx10r vs bmw s1000rr vs Yamaha R1?
3) Harley vs Indian chief
i think Hayabusa is good in looks
this is a very very honest review... i mean im a kawi fan however never i have always wanted to know the truth vs what fan boys say... thank you guys for this review and if you can explain to us why kawasaki uses top end and other bikes use midrange in power delivery.
Hey, it's down to the design and performance goals. You can have the same engine in a milder state of tune - less power - and it will feel different in nature and usability. Similarly, if you extract even more power, then the power band will shift to higher in the rev range. Have oversimplified it a bit. And, thanks for watching.
i love my hayabusa great review guys
Good reviews guys....Enjoyed watching it
Quick poll: Hayabusa or the ZX-14R ?
Hayabusa
Zx14r. But getting the busa soon just for the fun of it. Lol
ZX14R
Zx-r14

Excellent review. I owned a 2014 zzr1400 and it was a lovely bike. Just bought a new 2017 hayabusa because its the last of the dinosaurs, when its gone its gone. Whatever suzuki replace it with it will probably have loads of modes, digital displays, quickshifters etc etc and i dont want all that. I want to 'feel' the bike and bond with it when i ride. Its analogue not digital and thats a huge part of the appeal.
Hayabusa is the king of all bikes ...Mileage speed, sound, price everything is awesome
I have a 2018 Concours , both of these bikes are Superb...
