    I have the zx14r 2012 , ive had 2 zx10r s , z1000, and my zx14 is king. Its so fun to ride , loves twisties, unreal thrill and rips front wheel up in the air still. This is a monster sport bike and does it all. I will never sell this bike. It has full yoshimura 4 into 1 exhaust, powercomander dynoed at 207 hp. I will never get bored of this bike. Its beautifull i can drink beers 🍻 and stare at it for hours . Kawasaki rules in my books.

    I rode a hyabusa for 3 years, sold it, bought a 14r, put 1100 miles on it in a wk, and can straight up say the 14r is stronger all over the board, love this bike!!!!!

    this gentleman is absolutely accurate about a ZX-14. VERY comfortable, very FAST, do "anything", anytime, anywhere type, motorcycle. I chose the 14 over the hayabusa, back in '08 , purely based on the instant, first impression of more comfortable ergonomics the 14 gave me(6'2", 240lbs), just sitting on both of them, at a local dealership. Trust me when I say, since my purchase in 11/2008, my '09 14 has been pure joy, and 100% reliable! Exceptional braking!! I "was" considering selling her last year, to buy a 2017 ZX-10RR for the "technology" infused experience, but have since trashed that notion. What I ended up doing for my 58th BD(11/2017), bought a 2018 H-D CVO Street Glide, and KEPT my '09 ZX-14! A guy told me I have, "the best of both worlds". I like to believe that too. I am satisfied, 100! *Beautiful locations/scenery in this video, btw. Thank you for sharing this with us.

    I bought a 2023 ZX14r as a left over a few months back and I am 6’4” 255 with some arthritis however spent decades riding mainly Hayabusas, and found the 14 to be everything described in this review. The comfort is amazing. The thought of a cruiser and upright riding position and the wind shock ultimately sent me the 14r direction. What a wonderful bike, far more comfortable than the Hayabusa, and honestly as quick without the noise. Solid performer.

    I've owned many bikes. The zx14 is by far my favorite!! I bought one last year, 2006 showroom condition, it had unbelievable lows miles, 4260 ish. The best part, $4500. Deal of a lifetime. I've doubled the miles since I had it over the summer.

    I never owned a bike or had a bike. But this Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R became my favorite bike to ride in the PS3 game Midnight Club Los Angeles Complete Edition. I won darn near ALL of my races WITH EAS AND SMOOTHNESS once I mastered the bike in the game. It became my favorite bike to use in the game because it was so smooth and powerful… and then it was THE ONLY VEHICLE I used and played with in the game! 😂

    My race bike was an old R6, which had the suspension rebuilt by experts. It had the stock engine internals, and power commander and pipe, as per the rules. I love the way it handles and corners, the balance and feel of the thing.
    My road bike was a ZX14. The seat is big and the bike is comfy, it carries the wife or the kids well. It does 'handle' pretty good, once you get the right tyre on it, but it is fussy about the make & model of tyre, as well as the pressure + temperature and wear and so forth. The engine & transmission of the 14 is a thing of beauty. The clutch is a masterpiece. That is how a motorcycle clutch should feel and should work. The ZX10R (by comparison) has a clutch stolen from a KX125 MX bike...
    What I want is the handling and cornering of my race bike, the tight lines and balance, the light weight and easy feel, but I want the entire engine and drive-line from the 14 in it, complete with old-school crankshaft mass and rotational inertia, and the clutch that would work in a Kenworth or a White. I want the same torque as the 14, but as a flat line from 4k to 14k, with no dips or lumps, with the same flat delivery curve as the ZX10R, just much more of it. I want the room and comfort and style of the 14, the great pillion mount, and the handling and dynamics & cornering of my track bike, and I want the entire engine & driveline of the 14.
    ... and I want to be about 23 again, and much better looking.... and a bit richer would be nice as well.

    • @AdamWaheed
      @AdamWaheed 7 років тому +1

      Nice feedback and comments. Yeah, I think the tire/pressure thing is more a result of ride height. The rear likes to have some height in it. But you are right, you don't wanna run too low of tire pressure. Makes this Ninja feel lazy and sluggish. Would love to try a 55 profile rear and see what that feels like.

    • @Kneedragon1962
      @Kneedragon1962 7 років тому

      Adam, yeah, try going from a 50 to a 55, but also try completely different make & model of tyres. A Bridgestone BT14 is one thing. A Michelin Pilot Power is an entirely different thing. A Pirelli red nose superbike tyre is different again, and a Metzler is different again. I found the M5 Metzler suits it well. Most everything else makes it stand up & want to go straight.

      Great comment. I'm curious whether you've ridden a ZX9R enough to form an opinion. That's what I'm currently riding, I'm thinking of a ZX14R as the ultimate tourer but I'm not sure I'm in need of the extra 50hp, said no one ever.

      I owned a 9r for 10 years and a 14r for 3. The 9r is an awesome all-round bike. What you will notice the most if you change is the power and the weight. The 14r is much heavier and though people say it handles well (it does), it does not feel anywhere near as good as a well set up 9r. The 9r has outstanding cornering characteristics ... you point, it sticks, even over bumps. Surprisingly, the 14r does better u-turns because it has a tighter steering lock than most bikes (31 degrees). This really helps in tight maneuvering. With the 9r you can easily pick up the back end and move it if you want. Not so much the 14r. The 14r has much better fairing coverage. My lower legs and feet won't get wet in a misty rain. It makes high speed cruising more comfortable. The torque (not the horsepower) is the thing with the 14r. It PULLS at almost any revs. The first time I nailed the throttle, I accidently pulled a wheelie at near 130 mph hard shifting from 2nd the 3rd. It's quicker than a stock H2 sx. A small thing, but I really miss the storage under the back seat (there is none in the 14r) and the ease of getting at batteries and spark plugs etc. Home maintainance is possible on the 14r, but it takes 3 times as long as anything on the 9r. This is probably an old man complaint, but I much prefer carbs over fuel injection. Far less complicated and feels better on the road. On the other hand (if you live in a cold place) ... no carb ice!! The one consistent issue the 9r had. Gone. Such a relief. One last thing, the 14r has an enormous seat. If you take passengers, they will love it. It's big enough that I can wear a full backpack and there is still room for someone to comfortably sit on the back. I still love the 9r but they haven't made them for over 15 years. The 14r is a fantastic all-round bike, though I wish it didn't weigh as much as it does.

    This is my ultimate addition to my stable some day. 37 yrs experience riding gives me the confidence to ride it. I was fortunate enough to ride one for a few days and I was so impressed. Haven’t had the bank for one yet but ultimately one will be in my possession. It’s nice to be 54 with a clean record when talking to the insurance company😂

    I miss my 14, I had an ‘07 in Candy Plasma Blue, fit my 6’8” 300lbs frame comfortably, in fact for 6 of the 7 years I had her, she was my only transportation, and she could do just about everything, I even rode home a weeks worth of grocery shopping on board, she got me through fire school, my only gripe was that she didn’t have ABS, if you pushed the rear brake a bit too hard, the rear tire would lock right up, other than that, I put 70k miles on her and she never let me down once. Hopefully next year I can pick up a 2012 and up model, I miss riding.

    I had a 2013 ZX1400R that was had a few mods like exhaust, power commander and ECU modified to allow the bike to run faster. I believe it dynoed 180 rwhp before mods and 200 rwhp after. Great bike for what I used it for - top speed at Bonneville Salt Flats. The aerodynamics didn't appear to be as good as Suzuki's Hybusa or BMW'S S1000R to me at Bonneville, but 197 MPH isn't exactly walking. I don't think I would enough discipline to use it for regular street riding, God bless you if you do.

    Usually people who like the next model & next model are more concerned about the updates... Like some 70's Muscle cars or 60's Ferrari's...You love them for the beautiful snapshot in time that they are as opposed to what they will be tomorrow...have been in love with the looks since I saw a maroon ZX12 long ago...I want one before they change styling.. 20yrs from now it will be a titan...

    I owned a 2013 Hayabusa for just over a year, and while I miss the massive amount of power it had, I don't miss that it was uncomfortable for my 6ft 6inch, 110 pound frame. I have owned a ZZR1100 in the past, which I loved, and which was a lot more comfortable than the Busa. I have never ridden a ZX14R, but I am tempted to try one out as a possible replacement to my BMW K1200LT?

    Adam, you lucky, lucky man! This must have been a real treat. I love the engine in this bike, every bit as much as the 1340 powerhouse the 'Busa has. This class of "hyperbike" is just incredible fun. And they handle better than many might think! I do agree that perhaps it's time for a fresh cockpit and a little re-sculpting of the body work but the purchase price is still pretty nice! The horror of these machines lies in insuring them. That said, I still lust for one!

    I actually love the old school gauges with the needles. I know that the trend now is for the TFT displays, but I think Kawasaki should keep the needles on the zx14. Leave the digital to the ZX10. (The same goes for Suzuki with the Busa and GSX-R)

      @@snakeman9902 Hey Snakeman, our paths cross again. I finally passed my test after having to resit due to the DVLA failing to update my licence twenty years ago. I've upped the deposit on the ZZR 1400 2020, but the solicitor is still dragging her heals regarding finalising my late father's estate. I've been out on the Tiger 1050 sport a couple of times, both times the weather turned wintery and wet ( Scotland). Something askew with the set up? Could be just tyre pressures but it seems reluctant to turn in, which combined with the wintry conditions, didn't inspire confidence. When I had it MOT'd the front brakes were sticky, from a year of sitting, £200 for the fix, Ouch!! The dealer is ok with holding the ZZR, perhaps now with salt and wintry conditions I need to be patient. Will let you know my first impressions.

      @@michaellilley6725 BROTHER, that is fantastic news well done, it pains me that you had to take the bike test again, not pleasant, but glad you passed, hopefully things will work out quickly for you and you get the beast sooner rather than later.
      I intend to go to sunny Scotland next summer or if the weather permits, next Spring, I did vicit on the Blackbird, beautiful sites.
      I've done over 1000k on the beat now... I can only say that she rides better and better, I have spent money on her and I only wish the wind. Screen was a little taller, I'm a. Tall bloke. So feel the wind at speed.
      However, I have spent money on her by having crash bungs fitted, phone holder and charger if I go distances and will be having a centre stand fitted next year, she is the best bike I've ever had more than happy and I'm sure you will feel the same, I can not wait for the update.
      Stay safe 👍

    I’m so tempted to get one. I never was interested in this class of motorcycle until I owned an FJR1300 and realized how good big inline fours really are. I have a Tiger 800 but don’t used it as an adventure bike, and this as a sport tourer could make a lot of sense. Rumor is the Hayabusa is actually getting a full redesign for 2021/22, but I fear Kawasaki will soon discontinue this bike as sales dwindle and the H2 line is expanded.

    What you have is a long distance hyper sport bike. This isn't made for the want to be racers out there. This machine is for those that don't want to be on a cruise but want to ride for long distances. This machine gets respect from all types of riders. And I think a lot of that comes from the type of riders that it attracts. For the most part it is riders that a lot more mature and don't care about full throttle wheelie stupidity.

    Is this filmed in the Rockies? Reminds me a lot of Colorado, hard to believe this beast has been in production for 10 years, just like it's rival the Busa a legend in its own time

    I feel the display is due for an upgrade possibly even the tach and mph. Maybe go LCD like Suzuki did or like an aprillia. Liter bikes now come with a ton of bells and whistles and look sharp time for kawi to update the zx14r. She is still a beauty but needs a makeover.
