Wow! I searched till I finally found what I was hoping to find.. I have been using the refillables you have but started getting all xxx on my prints figured it was the Print manager update from Sawgrass.. so been trying find a solution, even thought of perhaps finding different print program. looked on Ebay for the chips from China but out of stock..
Now I find your video and Great knowledge.. THANK YOU! now hopefully I did not dispose of those original cartridges I been holding like forever.

Very very helpful! I am on the precipice of having to do this myself. Got my SG400 last year for Xmas, haven't printed but less than 10 sheets and my Cyan is down to 5% wtf? Anyways, obviously I have to look for ink help. So, I really appreciate this video. Never would of thought about keeping the 1 cartridge... that's a GREAT TIP! Also makes me wonder how hard it is to remove those chips from the original cartridges and permanently affix them to the refillable ones... I've yet to embark on this journey, but I will be looking into it when I get mine. But your work around is the best advice I've ran across in quite some time. Thank You!!
Thank you for this tutorial because Sawgrass just went out of buiness and can't buy any ink.the auctioneer thats auctining there equipment told me to go on line and find the ink and sorry today. so thank you because its still high on line.

I got them off Temu, didn't change anything...just put them in it worked fine. Didn't have to leave the other cartridge in.
Can you provide the link from TEMU?
You can also take the chips off and put them on the non sawgrass cartridges. That's what I did and it works like a charm.

Where did you purchase your cartridges from?
Yeah, I just paid over $300 for my ink. I wish I had seen this video BEFORE I purchased it but I could not find it. I searched but this video was so hidden.

Do not update virtuoso print manager! Sawgrass released an update to their print manager that will add a watermark to any prints done with aftermarket cartridges. DO NOT UPDATE print manager!! if you want to use refillable cartridges...have you tried to update print manager?

Go to System and Settings > Printers & Scanners > SAWGRASS SG400 RPCS-R (SG800, if that's your model). Select Manage > Printer Properties > Select 'Port' Tab at the top of the pop-up. Ensure that the port (left hand column) for SAWGRASS SG400 RPCS-R is checked (it should be already, mine was defined as USB001.) Check 'Enable printer pooling'. Find SG_Local and select. Apply settings. I did a restart before my test print. NO MORE WATERMARK!!!!

Hey man do the ink carts in your link come with the chip? Or do I gotta buy the chips separate and attach them? If so where is the link for the chips and how do you put them in? Thank you very helpful video. Also have you used Subli-Light(No-Cut) with the sg400? I wanna sublimate on cotton and I heard that’s the way to go for that!
Or are you saying the “replacement imitation carts” don’t need a chip... as long as one of the original carts that come with the sawgrass has a chip? So 1 that has a chip and 3 that don’t will still fool the system? Or do they alllll need chips?? Lol
Separately. They have much better inks out now where you won’t need the chips

You said you weren't going to edit the edit but you did at 1:23 and after printing. How do we know you didn't put the Sawgrass inks back in?
Because you see the door close with the after market inks in there. It works
We can purchase ink cartridges that are already made to be use /knowing that there are fake guys selling empty cartridges and some won’t work. I bought some refillable plastic cartridges for a cheap EPSON printer as my SG-400 was broken for a few years - no one could help me fixing it -no parts. BUT I PRAYED with faith and next thing I know it’s working better than when I bought it obeying commands not offline all the time as before -GOD FIXED IT for me. He did it when nobody could do it -against all those bad reports and the information to throw it away but I didn’t give up - it was using the original ink cartridges showing errors not responding commands always offline and later just depleting the ink like crazy! I was desperate and feeling abandoned by those guys. If your warranty is over it’s also over also any support or attention of those guys towards you 🧐 you are done stuck with it.
So all I need is 1 sublimation ink and 3 clear cartridges
Did u have to clean out the printer lines before inserting the new inks? I’m also trying to find a cheaper version to the inks.

Yes but now you can just order the new cartridges on Amazon or eBay and they should work fine for you.

There should be aftermarket inks out for the 500 by now.
I have the SG1000 and I got the refillable cartridges with the chip. It will not print. It’s leaving a watermark and very light color. Any ideas?
You can go on amazon and get the aftermarket cartridges and those should work just fine for you.
Can I use this ink without the chip?
Question my printer is saying it's non sawgrass ink after the update it did . Now I think my printer is missed up . How do I fix that . I think the black part is missed up because my black ink stared to spray all over the floor

Hi brother, I am wondering if you had encounter issues like I am having. The hardware is accepting the ink cartridges are full on screen but the software is not showing the ink cartridges as if they are full but still empty. How to adjust the colors, do you know?

I am a real beginner to Sawgrass. My husband bought me the printer for my birthday but i am having major issues. In the beginning I thought it was a great machine. Now I am not so sure. Of course right off the bat he did not realize it was almost $400 just for the ink. Now i have spent 2 months and a lot of money to transfer to a different brand of ink. I bought the refillable ink set with the chips and extra chips. Did not work. Bought 4 other sets of replacement inks of various brands and can not get it to accept my new ink. Can anyone help walk me through loading the ink cartridges?

I filled the ink but it’s still saying that it’s low how do I reset it? I tried to turn it on and off and that didn’t change anything the alert still going on and it saying my yellow is low but it isn’t
I just recently had this problem. I just counted my losses and got an epson. The video is the latest one I posted. My advice is try to get in touch with sawgrass if it’s still under warranty

Only if the sawgrass cartridges are new but that defeats the purpose... There's plenty of aftermarket cartridges on the market now.

HollaDirecttv made me realize something that made a big difference!! I was trying to print through cricut using the print n cut feature and the ink was dull and red wasn’t working. Now I print through sawgrass creative studio and what a difference. Also, using print manager is even better. I don’t understand why that is but it was a game changer for me!! Thanks to this video!!!! 🥳
