Bought my SG 1000 about 18 months ago. Just recently replaced a couple of the cartridges. I print a lot of 13x 19 background sheets so ink does last. I get replacements when Conde or JPPlus have sale so more cost effective. Love mine!

I teach a high school class in Photoshop graphics. We are adding a production component to the class and will be using a Sawgrass Sg1000 and EasySubli inks to create sublimation prints to put on shirts/hoodies. I just got the sawgrass sg1000 like a week ago and I only made 4 shirts and 2 mugs and it says my ink is low already. Yours didn’t do that?
@@vvaenssa01 yes the first time it usually does that. The ink is in your lines so it can still go a long way on low ink. Have fun!!

Ty so much for the video. So I just received my sawgrass 1000. The colors look great! Compared to my epson f170. My only complaint is the one on one that I need isn’t available until 17 more days 😩 So luckily there’s your video! Because I have wasted ink on sizing and sawgrass ink is precious

Just ordered my sawgrass 500 i havean ecotank 2720 which I converted but it keeps clogging and don't have time to be messing with it. Wish I would have ordered this one to begin with oh well live and learn maybe I can sell the epson to someone who want to clean it. At least it lasted me for almost 2 years LOL.
I'm looking for an explanation on which side of sublimation paper goes face down?
Print on the white side. One side should be bright white.
When I print black it looks green, please help it’s driving me crazy
First you need to press anything you print to 100% white polyester fabric to see the true color. If it is still green, you may not be pressing with enough time/temp or you could have a clog.
Which way up does the paper go in the printer? It has a white side & the other side is slightly yellow. Can't find anywhere that says which way up except someone says logo facing up but our sawgrass paper doesn't have a logo on it
Print on white side. So it is yellow side up in the printer as it will pick it up and turn it over.

Hi! Thank you so much for this (and all of your other) video. I bought this printer last year in April and was not able to use it with Wi-Fi connection. If I want to do that I would need to buy the newer version?
I would contact them first. I think you should be able to send to it wirelessly.

I have the easy subli ink in my sawgrass sg500 & the tumblers are not coming out vivid at all. I used ASub paper & tumbler setting
I have the same and have zero issues with tumblers. I would look at how you are pressing them. Time, temperature, and pressure.

The ink lasts a long time. I have replaced my ink a couple of times but have made several things.
Would you say that easy subli ink has the same benefit as the subli jet ? I want to use it more on mugs and tumblers but want to have the option of using it on cotton garments in the future.
Yes. You can use it for all of that and it works better on easy subli for cotton!
Great video, what should I select for Asub paper?
You can leave the paper setting the same and choose the surface you will be applying to.

Fantastic video. I couldn't decide whether to get subli ink or go for regular sublimation. So, I chose regular sublimation and got a Sawgrass 1000. I found one on Marketplace used and saved a lot of money - nor not. The seller sounded confused about which ink she had used. Sawgrass was afraid she may have mixed inks. I will soon find out. My questions are these: I saw some videos on printing from a regular InkJet to the printable vinyl. That's why I thought I could do the vinyl that way and sublimation paper the other way. What do you know about printing on vinyl through InkJet? Second: If I can print on sublimation paper and heat press that, why would I choose to print on vinyl rather than putting the ink directly in the fibers (besides being able to use cotton)? Thanks.

And it would be for dark colors/cotton where you would want to use some of those hacks.
Looks like a really great printer. I wish I could afford one , but it is way out of my price range. I was wondering what the most popular Epson Eco Tank is? When I look it up there are several of them and I'm not sure which model is the one most people use. Thanks!
Don’t do it
Sawgrass cleans itself, huge!!!!
There really isn't a "best" or "worst" model. They all have the same drawbacks when it comes to sublimation. The number usually indicate features that are not important for sublimation. I just went with one that was in stock and on sale.
Once you put in the sublet ink can you switch to the other ink that you used in the video
Looks like if you switch you will void your warranty. Also you would have to drain the printer of ink which would be very costly.
Is this a new option for the Easy Subli inks? If not, I wish I had known that before I bought mine because I do use Easy Subli a bit.
It has been around as long as EasySubli has. Both ink options are good options but I really want to do some EasySubli content so I chose this version.

Never have had the three folders show up. Only one folder that says Sawgrass Smart Folder.
My paper only has a shiny side and a Matt side so I don’t know which way the paper goes in please help
So I can use the sawgrass siser ink along with the siser paper I can print on 100 % cotton without any issues, correct? Also how long does shipping take?

Hi! I just got my sawgrass 500 and I was wondering. Is there a way to size through PM if you just want to adjust length of image vs both length and width at same time. I need to set up my appt to do a zoom.
I don't see a way to unlock the aspect ratio in print manager.
Do you know what paper setting for sublimation paper would be if I just print through silhouette? Plain paper?

Hello! Does the ink dries up when the printer is not used often like the epson Ecotank?
This printer does run its own maintenance if left on and plugged in.

I have been on the fence about sawgrass sublimation printer, because of the price of the toner. I feel frustrated about this printer or epson. Anybody have any experience with this dilemma?

It is open in your bottom tray. Right click on it there.

My printer is printing lines I don’t know what to change so it prints fine
For a sawgrass, go into print manager and print a color chart. See which of the colors is making lines. Then print that color only from the same screen a few times. That usually removes the lines.

Prints not bold ? Is there a way to adjust saturation ?
Did you press it to 100% polyester to check the colors?

They come with an expiration date on them so it would depend on when and where you purchase.
Can you use the ink after the expiration date?
It is recommended to use it up by the date. I have used for a bit after though.

I would probably just pick Polyester? Not sure on that one!
So if I have sublijet is that not good for polyester
Of course it is good for polyester! Sublijet ink works for all types of sublimation.

Can you print on printable htv with this printer ?
There is no need for that with sublimation. Printable HTV would be for a regular inkjet printer.
How do you take the black box that prints around the image I print?
That is from Cricut design space I am guessing? You would need to use a different program to get rid of it.

Depends on your printer and if you are having color issues.
i just got one, i already put in the regular ink, am i able to switch to the subli ink after these are depleted? thanks!
A Sawgrass printer only has sublimation ink? If you have something like the Epson EcoTank, you will need to drain and flush the printer before adding different ink.

A really long time! I can update once I have used it more but the levels haven't moved at all.
Wow…my question as well. 😃 I want to get one, but I’m just concerned how long the ink last as well… because of the price. When you purchase the sawgrass, do you get full ink cartridges? With other printers you only get a small portion of ink…which doesn’t last very long. I’m thinking because of the price, hopefully you’d get full cartridges also. If that makes sense. Thank you! 😁

I do love my Sawgrass printer.
I got my Sawgrass SG500 last year and everything is Red/Pink when I print photos! I’m so disappointed! I’ve been through several cartridges of each ink and re-ordered more, and the new cartridges print in red & pink. I never got to call anyone to help. Do you have that number? I don’t know what I’m doing wrong? Can you print straight from your photos on Windows 10? I’m barely understanding how to do the simplest things! It’s so expensive to try, and especially to keep failing! I’ve just tried to make shirts but everything is red. I got a Cricut, too, and I’ve been so afraid that I’m just unboxing it a year later! I feel so stupid, and everyone says that you learn from your mistakes, but I haven’t learned anything, except for wasting lots of money and hours watching UA-cam videos with no avail. Can you please explain how to adjust the color, and which side of the paper am I supposed to be printing on? The images that I printed last sort of smeared around after I sublimated on some pillowcases, so I thought that I had printed them on the wrong side of the paper…I’m just lost! 😢
You should have one side that is white and generally the other side is pink on most papers. Print on the white side. Go to sawgrassink.com and click on support in the lower right hand corner. I would probably just open a ticket with them to get resolution.

as if sawgrass ink wasn't overpriced enough, now they stopped supporting the sawgrass SG400 because they require us to upgrade (buy another printer and spend more money). completely ridiculous. So glad I other sublimation printer for 10X cheaper printers, paper and ink.
Wow! It went through 1/3 of the ink in just the set up?!?!? With the cost of their ink, and the cartridges only come with 31ml? Yeah, not worth the cost for me.
It doesn't "go through" that ink to be clear. It adds that ink to the lines. It didn't use any ink in set up. It is just in the lines ready to print.
@@AngieHolden Oh, ok. In purchasing HIPPO ink recently the bottles were 140ml and less than the price of one Sawgrass cartridge. I’ll be interested to see your update in a few months. I really appreciate your informative videos and your honest reviews Angie.
@@AngieHolden so that would mean, you should be able to still print, even if cartridges are showing empty, due to 1/3 being in pipes.
I'm a new sawgrass printer owner and going theough learning process and realised I don't have an option with right click to check all the inks etc 🤔

What is expiration date on sawgrass ink? I wouldn’t be printing every day maybe once or twice a month at best.
So maybe an Epson ET would be better. I saw your video on email your printer Epson ET to keep it from clogging up.
Can you use hippo ink or are you forced to stay with their brand?
Swgrass they have horrible customer service they don’t you support. If print machines need to fix they don’t like to fix? Any problem don’t them, they will never lesson to you. If you believe them dont believe them.
Just say no to the extremely overpriced Sawgrass printers and ink and get an Epson SC F170 or larger true sublimation printer. Your welcome! 😊
Again I will be doing a comparison of all of these printers. I have enjoyed the F170 printer however the main issue I have with them is availability of both the printer and the ink. There are also some Sawgrass benefits that Epson just doesn't have.

Hi there! How do I get in contact with sawgrass to set up a one on one call? I have tried to Google a customer support number and I can't get in touch with anyone. I have also requested a callback as well but haven't heard anything and it's been a few weeks.
The information was there when I set my printer up. I would go to their website and chat with customer service.

It depends on the paper brand. Usually it is the side that is a brighter white.
