Your video is by far, the most helpful when I am trying to create and get something done. Because of this video, I was able to print my image and sublimate to glass. This project is my most important one, because the image is of my Dad who just passed away. THANK YOU for your very informative video.
I know this video was from 2 years ago but let me tell you that the Wi-Fi error keeps happening even now, and you are the only one that answered the only question I had, I watched over 10 videos looking for an answer and I am grateful I found your video. Thank you for explaining it so easy!
My issue with this printer is it constantly alternates between offline (not ready) and ready even though I am online. Other than that issue, I love this printer. Also, I agree with Chris Rabideau about not using Creative Studio. I use Photoshop and after I finish a design, I choose print and select the option to send/print to Print Manager. It sends the file to the Sawgrass folder on my desktop and then I open that folder, click on the file and it opens up the print manager options, i.e., ceramic mug, mousepad, etc and then click print and the print quality is significantly better by sending to the Print Manager versus printing directly from Photoshop. For a cheaper, or even free design option, I recommend Canva. Lastly, you can use regular printer paper as opposed to the more expensive sublimation paper. That said, thank you again for another great video as I had no idea that it was possible to print on larger paper with the SG500! You rock!
It has taken 3 days for me to complete setup and print my first Image. Everything you mentioned, happened. And then magically it began working. Who knew?
I watched your video because I also anticipated issues. I got my sawgrass sg500 about a month ago and had to schedule an appointment to have one of their reps set up my printer. Nothing was working before they came in and remotely fixed it. So I naturally anticipated issues printing on 11x14 and watched your video....super helpful video, btw. But guess what??? I selected legal size paper from the print manager screen and it automatically printed for me! I didn't have to do that work around you shared, but was totally prepared to. Not sure why it worked for me, but I subscribed to keep learning from you! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the video. I spent hours figuring this thing out. Ugg. Now I have your video as backup knowledge. Of note, I just use the printer cable cause WiFi was SLOW.
your videos are so helpful I hate dealing with sawgrass they never answer the phone only want you to fill out a repair ticket then they email you scenarios on how to fix the problem I was having trouble printing after my computer up dated so again I thank you
You're so right about the print manager, many times, even now, two years later; it will not pop up for me.... and I will disconnect, re-start, re-login, etc., and have to figurte out the issue each time. Once I'm connected and have gotten it to print, the time isn't an issue... it's just that first time logging into everything. The delay and disconnect are awful and I'm using a direct connect wire because I can't get the wi-fi part to work.

Thank you for watching. I have the 500 and the 1000 now and both still work great. I also have a maintenance video that shows you how to clean the maintenance station
Do you still use your sg500 and do you still get the sawgrass inks. I'm trying to use refillable cartridges but they improved the firmware it's almost impossible
Heads up. Using none all over inks will void your warrantee. If anything goes wrong and you call in for trouble shooting they ask you to send them a photo of the inks and the bar code in the inks. If it’s not sawgrass approved ink sawgrass will void your warrantee. Just so you know.
@@adubbproductions Thank you. I'm aware but the SG inks are expensive for me. I use the printer for tumbler sublimation. So far it's been great...just the price of the ink.
Yes. Initially when I looked at the inks I had the same reaction but when you break it down. You get significantly more prints from from the more expensive inks. Ultimately after refilling your printer with less expensive ink a few times you probably end up spending the same amount. My ink lasts me about 4 and a half boxes of 110 sheet papers. Alert light on, then paper feed stopped, then when I pressed feed form, it would send the paper out but then same process over and over... so much paper wasted not to mention the ink usage..Ugh! I had changed the paper settings on the print manager but not on the printer itself. Again, thank you! I've subscribed and now will watch all your videos! I look forward to seeing more Sawgrass 500 videos!
Thank you for your videos. I’m wondering if I can split my image to print on two pages, then tape them together to get a larger picture. I tried to print on a clipboard, it’s 9x12. Even printing on 8.5 x 14 paper it left about 1/2” white boarder all around. I’m looking for a work around to have no white boarder. Thank you so much.

Yes, you're so on point about the software, it's so dial upish, they might as well put up the little running man while waiting for the next stage. Thanks for the info...
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I just received my sawgrass and I am having difficulty with the WIFI connectivity. I will keep looking at your videos and see if I can find the solution to my problem... :)
Wow, super disappointed that I got the Sw500 prior to seeing this video. The time is insane.... I’m going to forget what I’m doing with the amount of time it takes the software to talk to each other and print..... my son anted to get the sw1000 and I said nope until we use this a little more...... but Epson seems like a good option. 👏🏼👏🏼 Thanks for the Video!
I just got this printer . I am so disappointed because. I need to wait way long time to print an image. I spend a lot of money buying sawgrass and a I thought this would be the best option. TIME IS MONEY. You are awesome by the way thank you so much for such a good tutorial.
No problem thanks so much for watching. I have to admit now that I’ve had it for a while the wait isn’t as bad as I initially thought. It almost seems like the more I sue it the shorter the time is. What I will advise is that you launch print manager as soon as you turn on your computer that way when you send your design to print the process will go faster. Also make sure you select the printer that says WiFi or you will be waiting for something that was not properly prompted. But my original wait complaint still exists but it’s not as bad as I originally thought.
Good video...Im frustrated that even tho that is a new model sawgrass...the same issues are still there from the previous models smh and sawgrass customer support does not help 1 bit...Best of luck and wishes to you and your new printer... Its very frustrating... When it comes time to change the ink, alot of people have complained that if you use 3rd party inks it put black lines in the printer but I havent seen black lines YET - be careful
Thank you, this is going to really help me lots... can I ask if there is different sawgrass 500 as I bought a new o e as my old one did all the thi gs you said. I thought it was broke. My new and old one does not have an extended tray, so I bought a bypass tray. Do I need to ri g sawgrass. Thanks I find you amazing and its great you receive freebies to help out.
You can’t sublimate on 100% cotton. People are doing hacks where you sublimate on vinyl then press that on but you can not sublimate onto 100% cotton unfortunately.
Thx... I saw sine one suggested using painters tape ( yeah man! Good ol’ blue tape) works perfectly... stands up to high heat and is available in a number of widths for cheap (think $$ store ♥️)
not sure if this question was asked but did you purchase a bigger tray or is your tray partially open. I just bought the SG500 about a week ago and realize that the paper i bought is too big for the tray and i had to cut it to fit the tray. please advice. Great videos. they are so helpful to me and I'm sure everyone that watches. please keep up the great work.
hallo, thanks for the video, wat ist the best solution for printing with SG500.. ink sublimation or chroma ink..i need a good advice becose is my first printer..i have a graphtec cuter ..thanks
Do have a tip when I do a nozzle check black is not printing I did nozzle check several cleanings an flushes and still does not work and keeps depleting all my blue ink.
I purchased this through your link :) I appreciate your honesty. I'm having a problem getting the software agreement signed so I can use the design space....
Can you show us how to use the Sawgrass Hot Folder on the desktop? It is used to add multiple jobs of different designs to print out during the same session. For instance, if you had two different designs for two different mugs you could print them both from the same Print Manager screen. Fantastic video! I am so upset with this printer I could throw it through the window. Plus Sawgrass took away the "Customized Design" button away. I am an above average user and I dislike it so much. I am looking into the Epson F570 when they come back into stock.
Yes you do. Everytime you print different size paper your printer will display a message letting you know that the paper change needs to be done. It’s a good thing. Kinda like as safety feature in case you forget for example to switch to a larger paper and you send a big print. That could be a mess and maybe ruin your printer.
This was exactly what I wanted - how to print larger images BUT the software has changed since you posted it and the workflow choices are not there. sigh… Any suggestions where I can find out how to print legal size pics in 2024? thank you for the video. I feel confident at least there is a way, I just need to find it
After writing this I tried again and thanks to your video figured everything out! The only issue now is that print manager doesn’t open even after waiting. I’m sure that can be resolved. thank you thank you thank you for your video
@@adubbproductions Thank you for replying that is very kind of you as you must be very busy. Thanks for the info. I did not know PM had to be running first.
They don’t recommend it. So just use the ink recommended for the best performance. Check out my last video to watch house many prints I get out of one batch of inks.
With the bypass tray that’s made for the sg400/500 you can print as large as 8.5”x50” long. You can print 8.5x14 without the bybass tray. In my opinion unless you need to print something that long it’s not worth the money. I would rather be able to print a little wider and the bypass tray does not allow you to do that.
Thanks for sharing this information brother. I am new to the T Shirt industry and I am looking for options, I currently have a Heat Press and a Cameo 4
First time using it yesterday. After watching this video I tried another way and it worked pretty fast. After pressing print and clicking OK, I minimized all open pages and it was behind them. Not sure if that's with all computers but just minimize all open pages until it shows
Yea. Now i just select the actual PM program so it opens up on top of all open pages. Selecting the program icon makes it the active open page. You can also scroll between open programs and select Pm to make it pop up in front of all open windows. Few different ways to do it . Thanks so much for the advice. I appreciate it.
I decided too try it today I have had it nearly a mths lol. I tried it first time on the sequin cushions and my black colour is coming up a greeny colour. Maby I shunt have tried sequin first.
Nothing wrong with diving right in but I’m some cases you have to crawl before you walk. What material did you sublimate onto? How long did you press it for?
I'm sorry too bug u once again But does ur colour come out fine. I have notice anytime I use blue or green its come totally different colour if I put dark blue its always light blue nomatter how many times I change it. Now I have read It something to do with ICC PROFILE. so now I have to pay . I have spend absolute loads of money. So disappointed with this Now they want me to buy a icc or corel or Adobe. My 40 printer prints better
I’ve had a SG800 since 2015 and it’s disappointing to hear that Creative Studio is still so slow. I tried it a few times and gave up, I create all my images in photoshop. When I’m ready to print I create a new A3 image and fill it with all images I want to print.
No problem. Thanks for watching and enjoy your new printer when you get it. Don’t forget to use my heat transfer warehouse link when you buy it if you don’t mind. Thanks in advance. More videos in this one coming this week.
Yes it would. But honestly I was new and didn’t have much experience. Now that I know what I’m doing it’s honestly not bad at all. I was just inexperienced. It works fine wirelessly.
How? I've tried several software programs, got my print for 14x14, but cannot get them to line UP. I feel like it's SAWGRASS settings that aren't quite right. Whatcha know?
Thank you . I bought a Sawgrass vertuso Sg500 . But apperently I have the wrong computer . WHICH is just a Asus Chromebook . My laptop is not compatible with the printer and not even my circuit cutter . It said something like it's only compatible with Microsoft and Apple . What type of Apple computer am I supposed to buy to be able to work my Sawgrass do you know ? I am not at all computer savvy . At all . But I'm very driven .
@@adubbproductions yes if I go this route I'll be using the 1000. But I'm debating on that or the dye sublimation printer I figured you would have more knowledge than me since I'll be barely starting out
Hi, 2??. Have you done videos on sublimating onto vinyl and then on to any type of shirt or hoodie? Have you used different brands of paper in your SG500, I'm asking because when I talk to someone at HTW they did not carry the 8 1/2" x 14" paper for sublimation, also said that I needed to use the Sieser subli paper. I'm finding I'm getting mixed info, so if you can clarify some of my ??, I'd appreciate it:) Thanks Al,
Are you sure you called the right number? I mean I can’t tell you what they do or don’t carry because I don’t work for them but what i will say is I have paper the is 8 1/2 x 14 inch from them and they also have it on their website so why would they tell you they don’t. Did you look in their website and tell them they had it in their site? That’s confusing. I get it from them so you may have dialed the wrong number. Idk. Use my affiliate link and just navigate to sublimation paper and buy the size you need. Don’t call. heattransfer.ositracker.com/159730/11767/url_14965
@@adubbproductions I definitely talked to someone at HTW, I was initially getting info on the Sawgrass 500 and is Polyester was the only fabric for sub. She proceeded to explain about the Siser EasySubli sheets & ink and there were no larger sheets. Thanks for the link I will start over again. BTW your videos are well detailed :)
What brand of sublimation paper do you use? It's looks good on polyester. I usually print on cotton for the most part. Think I might switch it up. Thanks for the information
Had mines for over an week and haven’t set it up yet I was holding out until the 1000 was available but seeing how everything is preorder aka back order it’s going to be awhile
Because you can’t. Sublimation works best on white polyester or extremely light colored shirts. You can sublimate black text a dark colored shirts but that’s about it. You have to use white 100% polyester for the best results.
I have the sg500 and have bought the bypass tray, where your supposed to be able to do longer printing. Can't figure out how to get it recognized by printer or computer. So frustrating.
I wish I could help but I do not have the bypass tray. You should contact the company and ask someone for some instruction. Sorry I can’t help with this one.
Thank you for your information. I personally can't support you because I can't use your links. I live in England. I have subscribed and liked the videos, so I hope that helps in a small way. At the moment I have no sublimation printer, I am seriously doing research into so many. I am now thinking about getting the sawgrass 500 especially since seeing this video. I can now see that you can print big. I know the sawgrass 1000 A3 printer would be ideal, but it is quite expensive. Again thank you for all your information. I do have a question, about the inks. The only thing that bothers me, is how expensive they are to replace. So was wondering how long they last. 🤔 I have no business so only doing things for family & friends ink usage wise..
I really appreciate you subscribing. Nevermind using the link as long as the videos help you in some type of way that is the important thing. As for the inks, They do last a fairly long time with the machine on stand by. I would say if you don't print anything at all the ink would last 8 months perhaps then they would start being low. If you explore sublimating on different products like mugs, puzzles, socks and earrings for friends and family you might make out pretty well.
I don’t even use Creative Studio. I just take my image in Photoshop, creating the size I want (incorporating bleed lines, etc...) and print straight to “Sawgrass Print Manager”. It’s almost instant. I have the SG800 so I don’t have wifi connectivity. This may contribute to how speedy my prints are.
Please tell me how you do that. When you send to print out of photoshop ate you sending to to print manager? Then print manager to the SG? Are there specific print settings needed to send out of photo shop? I tried to send it directly to the SG printer once and the image printed out super faded, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
@@adubbproductions when I’m in photoshop, there is a drop down menu for choosing a printer before you print. You can send it straight to the Sawgrass Printer, but like you said, you can’t adjust anything and it is faded in appearance. I’ve sent it straight to the printer by mistake as well. I send it to “Sawgrass Print Manager” and that opens up to the second print manager screen that you see where you can adjust the paper type settings, changing quantity etc...
I was so torn between the SG500 and all the hype on the Epson7710. I decided on the SG500, as I wait for the arrival however I recently discovered that the SG500 is NOT able to print on 11x17 and the Epson IS able to do so. Is this information correct to your knowledge? as I am so new to all of this and have overwhelmed myself in videos and information at this point. Thanks for your response! Awesome video! New Sub here!
Correct. Unfortunately the sg500 can only print 8.5 inches wide it can go long but not wide. 7710’s are hard to find. If you see one I’d grab it anyway. I lobe my sg500 though. I’ll be getting the sg1000 soon.
@@adubbproductions Hate that I slept on this for so long...I recall when the Epson was running in price @ $149 at least in my area. Now my searches are revealing prices at $649 when and if I do find one. Thank you.

When it comes time to change the ink, alot of people have complained that if you use 3rd party inks it put black lines in the printer but I havent seen black lines YET - be careful
Thanks for the heads up I’m just gonna stick to their ink then. $100 a color right? Something like that. Sheesh. lol smh. Gotta pay to play.
@@adubbproductions have your print head done a flush yet? I heard it dumps quite a bit of your ink.
YOOOOOOOO you just saved me. Thank you. I HAD THE SAME ERROR. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
No problem. That’s why I made it. Glad I could help.
Thank you so much for this! I certainly needed it! God bless you!
No problem. Thank you so much for watching. God bless you as well.
Can I print on 100 percent cotton with the sawgrass 500? Very good video ,thanks.
Thank you so much! this video helped. Trying to print on 8x11 but keep getting white boarder need WHOLE PAGE filled up. Any suggestions?
Really appreciate the info looking for more on the sawgrass and how to you do on a 100% cotton
You can’t sublimate on 100% cotton. People are doing hacks where you sublimate on vinyl then press that on but you can not sublimate onto 100% cotton unfortunately.
Wow.. Just found your videos.. I have learned so much.. Thank You!!
Omg thank you so much I had such a hard time with printing. Super helpful!!!
Thank Goodness for this video because I was literally going balistic trying to get this larger product to print
Do you prefer this one over the 7710?
I always thread the shirt on like a screen printing tshirt that way no paper inside needed. Also get heat tape so image don't move.
Do all files you want to upload have to be convered to psd format first or is there another way?
Does the legal size fit in the tray ? Or do I have to purchase a extended tray?
The tray fits legal sized paper. It has a built in extender that adjusts and protrudes slightly past the front of the printer.
@@adubbproductions Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you for this video! I thought I needed to upgrade my computer. It’s so frustrating how long it takes.
Good to know about the paper size!
hallo, thanks for the video, wat ist the best solution for printing with SG500.. ink sublimation or chroma ink..i need a good advice becose is my first printer..i have a graphtec cuter ..thanks
You have the best videos
Thank you. I appreciate it. 🙏🏾
Thank you so much because I was about to cry!
Can you link where you got the polyester shirts? Thank you
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
No problem. Thanks for watching.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this video!! Just starting out & this is EXACTLY what I needed
Do you need to go back into your printer settings and change it back after you print your new size? Thanks
So I did a reinstall and voila everything worked
Your video was critical to success
thanks again
You are supposed to launch print manager and have it running in the background before opening production studio.
@@adubbproductions Thank you for replying that is very kind of you as you must be very busy. Thanks for the info. I did not know PM had to be running first.
That color does look awesome. Fire! Question? What word does it say? Is it Elecance?
Kim Callahan elegance.
For the INK supplies, where do you get them? Can I buy it from another supplier? Thnx for your reply.
They don’t recommend it. So just use the ink recommended for the best performance. Check out my last video to watch house many prints I get out of one batch of inks.
A-Dubb Productions Allan Wade Thnx. Appreciate your reply.
The bypass tray is life saver for the bigger paper
is that something extra you have to purchase?
@@Warriorlover69 Yes the bypass tray is sold separately
@@javierjimenez67 what is the Biggest size it can print in SG500?
@@Warriorlover69 8.5x14
With the bypass tray that’s made for the sg400/500 you can print as large as 8.5”x50” long. You can print 8.5x14 without the bybass tray. In my opinion unless you need to print something that long it’s not worth the money. I would rather be able to print a little wider and the bypass tray does not allow you to do that.
Thanks for sharing this information brother. I am new to the T Shirt industry and I am looking for options, I currently have a Heat Press and a Cameo 4
Hey Dude, can you help me what settings did you make, Everytime that I print its always blurred
Can I use the sg500 for printable vinyl?
I'm sorry too bug u once again
But does ur colour come out fine. I have notice anytime I use blue or green its come totally different colour if I put dark blue its always light blue nomatter how many times I change it. Now I have read
It something to do with ICC PROFILE. so now I have to pay . I have spend absolute loads of money. So disappointed with this
Now they want me to buy a icc or corel or Adobe. My 40 printer prints better
How did you load such large sized paper in your sawgrass sg500 when my width will only go to 8.5 in width. I need to print 11x17.
I’ve had a SG800 since 2015 and it’s disappointing to hear that Creative Studio is still so slow. I tried it a few times and gave up, I create all my images in photoshop. When I’m ready to print I create a new A3 image and fill it with all images I want to print.
Hi! Great video! Are you using a bypass tray to make the print legal size? Thank you!
No. The standard tray adjusts/extends on its own. I do not have the bypass tray.
@@adubbproductions thank you!
How does your 81/2x14 fit all the way in your tray? Mine hangs out. I think Creative studio sucks.
Thank you for this video it helped me out so much!
thnks you,you just help me deside wht printer i will get :)
No problem. Thanks for watching and enjoy your new printer when you get it. Don’t forget to use my heat transfer warehouse link when you buy it if you don’t mind. Thanks in advance. More videos in this one coming this week.
Thinking about purchasing this unit. Would simply connecting with cable solve those issues?
Yes it would. But honestly I was new and didn’t have much experience. Now that I know what I’m doing it’s honestly not bad at all. I was just inexperienced. It works fine wirelessly.
Thanks for all the help
Bro you can cut and pieces two pieces together with heat tape to make 8.5x11 11x17, 14x17, or bigger.
Levite Apparel that is true. I’ve thought of that. From an efficiency perspective I’d rather have the bigger printer and bigger press. How you been?
How? I've tried several software programs, got my print for 14x14, but cannot get them to line UP. I feel like it's SAWGRASS settings that aren't quite right. Whatcha know?
Is printmate a whole different software? I’m confused because I have sawgrass print manager and printmate
Bro the bypass tray to make to make larger print or the all over printer from heatpress nation
The bypass tray fits the SG800 and the SG1000 right? Not the SG500 like i'm using in the video. Is that correct?
@@adubbproductions yes if I go this route I'll be using the 1000. But I'm debating on that or the dye sublimation printer I figured you would have more knowledge than me since I'll be barely starting out
Is that the tray that came with the printer or did u get another tray to fit the larger paper
That is the standard tray that comes with the sg500.
Can you print wider than 8in on this printer? Bc I'm about to buy 1 and I need to knw if I need to buy the bypass tray as well.
I think even with the bypass tray you can only print as wide as 8 1/2. It doesn’t increase the width, only the length.
Do you still have to go through all these setting changes 3 years later??
Good info I’m still learning thanks
No problem.
You can not sublimate on cotton. You have to have at least 65% polyester for the image to stay vibrant.
I use sub paper from heat transfers warehouse or GC Sub.
Had mines for over an week and haven’t set it up yet I was holding out until the 1000 was available but seeing how everything is preorder aka back order it’s going to be awhile
Oh it will I barely got my 500 and I ordered it in June! If I would have waited for the 1000 I would have gotten it when the 5000 comes out lol😂😏
@@dezi.monique Lmaooo ikr
Hello y'all. To use the 8.5" x 14 A-Sub paper, is it ok to leave the Sawgrass sg500 paper tray open? I don't think it will fit with the tray closed.
Hi I just got sawgrass SG500 how do you print on black cotton shirts or any colored shirts besides white? I can't find any videos
Thanks. Just watched your video and I did learn about the 8.5 x 14 grid. I hadn't found it yet.
Can I use a inkjet printer with sublimation paper?
Big youtuba-com I think there is a method like that out ther that you can use but ai haven’t done it yet. I’ll make a video when I find out.
BAPE RACKS -com yes you can use a regular inkjet printer with sublimation paper
Yes, as long as you covert the printer for sublimation use; Not everyone cannot afford q $600 printer, I know I cannot.
Thank you.
Thank you very helpful I stop using
