What's the benefit in refilling cartridges with ink, when even after you refill, the printer still says the ink is running low, and then it will stop printing altogether?
If you have done the procedure correctly your printer will not say that. I show in this video how to Refill a basic printer that allows you to refill it. On certain printers you have to do modifications to the ink cartridges like by special electronic chips that tell the printer that the ink cartridge is Original and full. And there are some printers that you cannot refill at all. I would call these printers anti-consumer which I think should not be allowed. I think everyone should be able to refill their ink cartridges. So I suggest using Google and finding out if your printer will allow you to refill it or if you do need the modification chips or if it will not allow you to refill it at all.
@@Mr_Goody Thanks, but these companies, don't want us refilling, and they find ways, to block us from doing the refilling ourselves, and they hate videos like yours! But they love to rip us off! I just bought a brand new cartridge, printed out about 10 pages, then the warning light of low ink came on... Really, after only about 10 pages? But thanks for the info.
Your Welcome my friend ✌️👍
@@mrg466 In most printers you should be able to ignore the low ink warning and keep printing. Preferably buy lowest cost single function USB printers which does not have internet connectivity and you can keep refilling till the sponge gets damaged
@@shrujanamsyama9940 Ok thanks
Bravo! I watched 3 or 4 videos and was about to give up until I saw you were doing my ink. Also gave the friendliest most comprehensive instructions. A+
Thank you for the kind words and I’m glad that the video helped ✌️👍
I used this method for a long time! Then discovered that all I had to do was turn cartridge upside down...let ink drip directly in to the large round exit hole on bottom of each cartridge! Just guess about the amount....that's not important....
Works like a charm...
Spot on advice. Do what he says and you shouldn't have any problems.
Thanks for going through step by step, this is exactly the cartridges I need to refill. It was so helpful, now I just have to try it. 95.00 for 4 xl cartridges is crazy!
Your Welcome my friend. 👍✌️
Go job. I have doing mine another way. I fill mind in the blotter. set on a q tip, when full comes out other side. has worked good for years. over 35-40 times. Thanks
THANK YOU FOR SPEAKING SLOWLY AND CLEARLY --YOU ARE THE BEST - MY RATING FOR YOU TWENTY STARS
You’re very welcome my friend that’s what I’m here for is to help people and I’m glad the video helped ✌️👍
This worked so great man. I bought the same brand you purchased and it’s perfect. The printer even recognizes the new ink levels. 😃BTW: you can ALSO fill the 910 cartridge from the side the ink comes out of. Just have to do it via drip method. It took me no longer than 10 minutes to fill all 4 colors.
Glad to hear you got everything working great and good for you my friend ✌️👍
Just did mine, I have the same cartridges and didn't even have to widen the hole for the ink needle. Setting now will install in a bit and anxious to see how this prints. Thanks so much!
How did it work? Any malfunctioning afterwards?
@@82camino96 Didn't work well at all. Printed copies were really bad. 🤷♀

I will try this approach because I bought empty refill cartridges from aliexpress for $20 but they don’t work well. If chip will be required to reset, I must buy special device for that for $10-20. Just in case for people how this refilling process works😁
My Goody, you're a natural and very encouraging teacher!

Ok, so a little more info from my experience today...It works NOW...Cleaned the print head 6 TIMES, and turned off notifications to HP...printed nice and clear too. Thanks M. Goody! 😊
You’re welcome my friend and I’m glad that it’s working for you. 👍
Hello Mr.Goody, ME AGAIN, lol. I use 902 ink and refilled with same kit you have...my printer is a HP OFFICEJET 6962. Is it possible for you to tell me your printer model to see if you recognize the issues I am now having? It was printing fine in the beginning, but then I had to clean the printheads a lot to get good color. The funny thing is, now I have filled all the cartridges and aligned and cleaned the print head and it's as if the colors don't blend (ex: instead of getting blue- I get striped pink and purple). The cleaned print head copy that comes out to show the colors after cleaning look fine? Have you ever come across this issue or do you have any suggestions on what to try to fix this? Thanks again! Julie
how can I reset the chips? I have Hp OJPro 8024e.

How do you know the date of a HP Deskjet All in One f4180 cartridge? I have about 5 empty ones and would like to refill the most recent ones, so as i dont fill a very old one and the sponge be dried out and leak all over the printer.
A fantastic tutorial!! Thanks a million!!
Your Welcome ✌️👍
I purchased the right cartridge cases and ink for my Epson WF-3720. I installed them but the printer does not recognize them because of the microchip that comes with the original cartridge.
I removed the microchips and installed them in each of the refillable cartridges. The printer does recognize the cartridge but shows that they are empty, even though all they are filled.
How do you blank the microchip?, or,
How do you instruct the printer to use the refillable cartridge with no microchip?
Hope you can help me.

Great instructions, Mr. Goody, thank you. Have a question. I am using the 902 HP cartridges. my printer says cartridges are empty, and when i fill the cartridge, they start overflowing with only 2 ml of the ink. When i put it back in printer, it still says cartridges are empty. Any advice please? Thanks in advance.

I have the same cartidges as you do. I didnt peel the tape back i just punctured right through it, is that ok?
That should be fine.
I followed the instructions... refilled original HP 910 Cartridges (HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e)... the refilling process worked out fine, kept printing normally... but 2 weeks later, Printer doesn't let me print anymore and is showing the following message: 'CARTRIDGES REJECTED - The indicated cartridges have been recently identified as used or counterfeit". Is there a way to print with refilled Cartridges with this Printer?
Can you tell me if you use the same black ink for (2 one is for photos )cartridges I. Photo smart C410
You just look it up on Amazon or eBay it should tell you what kind of ink your specific printer uses a lot of them will use pigment or dye based ink. If you use LaserJet or 3-D printer then those are an entirely different thing themselves.
Replaced the ink in my HP 910. Cartidge was empty. Stlll does not print, and the ink level has not changed. Any idea what the issue could be?
Two things come to mind right off the ink cartridges could’ve sat for a long time and may be no good you need to once they’re filled up try blotting them you take where the ink comes out and put it up to a paper towel to see if the ink is coming through that will tell you if the ink is being absorbed by the ink cartridge and bleeding through the ink cartridge like it should be second thing that comes to mind is it could be the printhead on your printer and you may need to clean them with rubbing alcohol I hope one of these things help you please update me if you can.
Just wanted to point out that ink cartridge 902 uses pigment based color and black ink, not dye based like in this video and link. Just so noone gets confused (I know you did say to google first) if they have OfficeJet Pro 6978 or other printers that use 902.
For inkjet, HP fills their ink cartridges with either pigment-based ink or dye-based ink. Pigment-based ink is commonly used in their black ink cartridges because it is better at printing text.
thanks lots looks simple enough, just got the refills will try tomorrow, i saw someone press the ink where your putting the tape, what do you think about that? let me know. 👏👏😃
In some ink cartridges, you can fill them. That way you just have to look up if you have those. But in the cartridges I have you have to fill them exactly the way I did. either way. Good luck my friend. 👍
Thank you! Just did this. Any way to reset the ink level meter? Still showing empty. They didnt reset after putting the carts back in. Also, cant get the yellow cart to work. Good video though. Should save people money. 👍
It just depends on the printer sometimes there is not a way but the most common way is when it detects the ink cartridges tell it that you have set up new ink cartridges and the software and a lot of them work that way if not you will have to look up your specific printer and see.
Does this work for ho 910
Thanks Kanye
You’re welcome Kim. 😂👍
I have hp 6960 printer which has hp 903 ink cartridges. I followed you step by step to fill the cartridges but my cartridges still show empty and when i print the page is blank, i even tried cleaning the printhead both manually and from the printer settings multiple times and still nothing.
Yes those are definitely refillable.

I have a canon MG5220, I tried this on my ink cartridge but it still blinking as if I don’t have ink and it shows it’s still empty on my printer is there anything I can do to fix that after refilling my inks ?
Try this procedure to reset your ink cartridges:
ua-cam.com/video/9SrBzabJj00/v-deo.html
And then if that still doesn’t work there is a possibility that your ink cartridge is not absorbing the refill ink correctly and you may need to get replacement ink cartridges.
WOW! I have these EXACT printer cartridges! I just might give this a try! PS - HP should participate in the recycle program, save the planet and all that other global warming stuff...
Exactly what have you got to lose? ✌️👍
I have the hp 364. I did this with the right ink but it doesn’t print in colour. It doesn’t even detect the new ink. It says counterfeit cartridge. What do I do?
Not every printer you can refill and on some printers if you are in rolled to HPs instant Inc. refill program there is a chip inside of the printer that will only let you put their ink cartridges in and you half to use their ink cartridges cartridges.
When widening “tiny hole”, does debris from widening the hole drop into ink cartridge?
Not to my knowledge.
is there anything you have to do to the chip. i can't get my printer to print the black and yellow cartridges
The only thing that chip will do is tell you if the ink cartridge is working or not. If you have multiple chambers and the ink cartridge and a few of them aren’t working Give it a little more time and let them try to absorb into the ink cartridge on the inside I would say about three hours and if that doesn’t work then I would say that ink cartridge was dried up for too long and it’s not going to work for a refill.
@@Mr_Goody oh ok, thank you, man I appreciate it.
No problem you’re welcome my friend ✌️👍
Can you use the black ink for both cartridges ( photo and printing
In some printers you can print in a mode that uses blacking only, I wouldn’t recommend this for pictures as it will deplete and drain your black ink Super fast. But if you’re in a bind and you need to print out a text document this would work fine.
So basically they have a blocker piece inside there that you have to bust threw to get the ink in?
Are HP 67 cartridges non-refillable? I see a small computer chip looking thing on it. Is this not refillable?
How to you run diagnostic on printer? Or have it adjust for refilled cartridge?
Every printer is different on how you run the diagnostics but it has built-in software or what some people call a user interface and if you go into settings usually it has self diagnostics or diagnostics that can be ran on the printer.
Can i use original hp gt series ink to regill hp 920 ink cartridge b, coz there is one pigment black ink.
What if you stick the needle on the bottom of cartridge ?
You mean your cartridges made that way or you made a drill hole I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking.
@@Mr_Goody the bottom part where the ink comes out of. You can stick it through there and refill
No you cannot stick it through where it connects to the printheader Or where are the inkblots out there is a specific place for the syringe to go.
@@Mr_Goody I even moved the sponge with my finger stuck the needle through there towards the back section of the cartridge filled it up and nothing happen 🤷🏼♂️
hp envy photo 7858 dose this work for it
Yes you can refill this printer.
Will this work for the Hp jet pro 9015e?
Will this work on the HP 633-Pro Print printer?
Yes those ink cartridges are refillable.
@@Mr_Goody how about Epson Stylus NX100?

Do you need a chip reset tool ?
For some printers you do.
Can I do this with a HP Officejet pro 8025 cartridges
Yes I just checked and they are refillable.
Can you shut off the low level light
Honestly I’m not 100% for sure on that printer but on a lot of printers once you refill the ink cartridges you tell the printer that you have installed a new ink cartridge even though it has been just refilled with the ink and a lot of times it will take away the low ink warning signs or lights.
hi, can you kindly help me. I have HP 178 Ink and i don’t know what ink is compatible for that? Do you knows some inks that is compatible for HP 178 5510 printer?
"Precision Colors" Good ink, and lots of options... Unfortunately H.P. ink is not available. It says "under construction". What ever that is supposed to mean.
Do you have video where you put these all back to the printer afterwards ?
No but that is a good idea for a video and I will make one in the future ✌️👍
So if we have the Hp 8210 there is no way to get around the chip thing?
Not that I know of.
Epson Cartridges only. ..does not show Brother MFC , Epson or Cannon cartridge refill procedures and they are Designed DIFFERENTLY.
What kind of printer do you have
I have many different types of printers right now I use an Epson XP 5100 it’s an L cheapo printer nothing fancy.
Thank you for the video! Does this also work for HP 963 cartridges?
Hi! I just finished refilling then when I put it back to my printer it cannot detect the ink level and its getting error like its not new cartridge
Every printer is different and has a different user interface meaning the software that runs it and you have to sometimes manually go in and tell the printer that it’s a new ink cartridge also you wanna make sure that the cartridge has absorb the ink correctly and to do this you will use a paper towel to where the bleeder on the ink cartridge is and see if the ink is coming out of the ink cartridge you blot it meaning you put the towel up against the ink cartridge and see if the ink is able to come out and make sure that it’s not dried up and if that doesn’t work make sure that your particular printer will allow you to refill ink cartridges, some printers try to prevent this and won’t let you refill the ink cartridges.
I don’t understand why Costco says they won’t refill my 902xl cartridges because of the “chip”? What does the cartridges chip have to do with the refill process?
How far in do you have to insert the syringe? Can you damage the cartridge if you insert it too far?
It really depends on the ink cartridge but on average you usually pot the needle in about half an inch enough that The ink can be absorbed inside of the ink cartridge and yes you can push it in to far and break off the needle or push against the ink cartridge and damage it.
Can it work on hp pagewide pro 552dw?
It should be very similar to this video.

i bought the wrong ink cartridges for my printer and i thought if it was possible to transfer the ink to my old cartridges ones ? but my old ones don't have that hole on the top but on the bottom. Could you give me any advice or it's a waste of time?...
It is probably just a waste of time because the ink is usually absorbed inside the cartridge. Some cartridges in order to refill them you can use a Dremel tool to make your own hole in the cartridge.
@@Mr_Goody i managed to get out alot of ink and transfer it!! but my printer ( model epson r300) is still having that ink out error

Ish!!! Is the HP 6055 refillable??? Maybe that’s why I can’t find any ink for it ughhhhhhhh
Yes it is a refillable ink cartridge and here is the link for the ink:
www.amazon.com/YATUNINK-Replacement-Cartridge-Deskjet-Printer/dp/B08B3GXZPX
Remember though my video is for a reference to most ink cartridges not all of them are refilled exactly the same way and some of them you have to use the Dremel tool that they give you to make a hole in the cartridge I’m not seeing yours is like that but you will have to look up your specific cartridge if there is no hole to insert the needle. I hope that helps.
@@Mr_Goody omg sorry I wrote that reply while u were replying.. I apologize..

It’s no problem at all I just hope that you are able to refill your ink cartridge and you will save a lot of money in doing so. ✌️👍
I did everything step by step incredible!! but when I printed a page the blue ink didn't work?
Check that one ink cartridge and see if it is stopped up see if it will blot on a paper towel and that will let you know if it is bleeding through and coming through the ink cartridge properly if not it could be your print head is dirty either way try cleaning them lightly with rubbing alcohol and let me know what that does for you and what you find out.

@@chelyxoxo106 same on this question! I have an HP OfficeJet 5222
Sometimes ink cartridges dry up and there are no fixing them and you may have to buy a new cartridge or you may have to just let it sit and absorb for a while but if you have already let it sit for about 24 hours and it’s not working then you will just need a new ink cartridge.

is your ink suitable for hp 930xl cartridges?
How do you reset the counter/chip?

@@Mr_Goody yes. You have that small device. Where do you one of those please
No I don’t have one myself but I do know what they are I do not know where you can get one I’m sorry.
Ok, just replaced my 902 cartridges after filling them and the level indicators didn't change and I got a message saying that I was using cartridges that had already been used. I printed a sheet with color and it looks like the color isn't releasing...can I remove their code bar or do something to over ride this?
You have to make sure you let them sit for about two hours so that the Ink can absorb into the ink cartridges and also block them on a paper tissue to make sure that the ink is coming out and then turn off the printer and turn it back on and see what that does.
@@Mr_Goody I had let them sit for 2 and a half hours and followed your steps to a T. Seeing my cartridges are 902 like yours, can you tell me the model of your HP printer or confirm if it is the same as mine which is OFFICEJET 6962? Also, I don't know if this makes a difference, but I had put aside my empty cartridges when I ordered the ink and put original carts in while I waited for the ink. I filled the OLD cartridges to replace the now empty current ones, do you think that matters? I will fill these recent ones too, and try again with these at 3:30 pm
Thanks again!
I have 920 cartridges and they have a reset button you have to push with a paperclip, on the color I'm pretty sure it's the blue one. You also might want to prime the cartridge by putting a wet or damp paper towel where the ink comes out and take a shop vac or your vacuum and suck the ink thru that way so as soon as you see ink on the paper towel it is primed. If that doesn't work than uninstall and reinstall your printer and turn off your notifications because that sends a signal to the printer not to print when they think your cartridge is empty.
@@mcoguyaj Thanks
@@mcoguyaj I don’t get why so complicated. It’s like the Ho company wants to try and force you to buy their ink.
Hi Mr. Goody! How do I determine the volume capacity of the cartridge so I don't overfill the cartridge? Thanks!
it should say on the tag
Sometimes it will tell you on the ink cartridge and sometimes it will tell you on the refill kit that you get or you can look up the company specific model on its website but here is a rule of thumb I go by I will give you the link so you can read but you just simply slowly add the ink slow enough until you can see it trying to come up through the hole that you are putting the ink in and that is when you know that the ink cartridge is full.

Good video
Thank you I’m glad it helped. ✌️☝️
Thanks for posting!
You’re welcome my friend ✌️👍
Goody, what will happen if the label tears?
The label that covers the ink hole? It should be fine but if it worries you, you can put a small piece of tape over it.
Mr. Goody I felt the hole under the label and forced the injector needle through the label and was able to inject the ink into the cartridge.. I ran a printer test from the HP app and it said it was ok, but does not show the black when I run a print test?..
Did you let it sit for a couple of hours? Long enough for it to absorb? Also to test it you take the ink cartridge and hold it and see if the ink blots it comes out onto the tissue paper. That’s a way to make sure the refill was successful and the ink cartridge is good.
Thanks 👍
i just spent 76 dollars on cartridges.. the next set up was like 145😵..how much did this cost?
The cost fluctuates but in between $15-$20 and you can refill them an average of 3 to 5 times
I really want to try this and my ink cartridges are also HP902. So does that mean I can buy exactily what you bought? Love your video.
Thank You and yes if it’s the same as mine you can.
Mr. Goody One more question...do your prints come out as well as with the original HP inks? Thanks again for the fast response! 😊
Also, is that kit PIGMENT INK?
Julie Villeneuve Your Welcome and yes just as good.
Julie Villeneuve You can actually choose if you want pigment or dye ink in the refill kit. But I suggest using the same kind that came with your ink cartridges, which in my case is DYE Ink.
So i refilled my moms carts but like they exploded inside the printer with out me knowing and i tried printing something today and its not working😭😭😭😭😭😭
I’m very sorry this happened to you. Did you accidentally overfill them? Did the ink cartridges absorb the ink? Did you give it time to absorb the ink and did you check to see if the ink cartridges were blotting on a paper towel? You should still be able to clean the printer with rubbing alcohol and it should be OK. Again very sorry that happened to you.
Everything was going great until I put them back in. Now no ink is printing and I have a hp 6978 which is like yours. I don't know how to reset the ink cartridge levels so I think I did all that for nothing.
If you’re using the exact same one as me then all you should have to do is insert the new ink cartridges and it should detect them and you said it as new and make sure you’re not in rolled with HP instant Inc. that can create a problem if you’re subscribed to that.
@@Mr_Goody Not enrolled. I refilled just like you did (great video) and put them back in and nothing. I don't know what to do now 😂 was I supposed to do something after putting them back in?
No the only thing I can think of is before you put them back in your supposed to blot them on a paper towel to make sure that the ink is bleeding through because sometimes the ink cartridges for one reason or another like if they set for a while or other reasons won’t absorb the ink on the inside so you definitely need to make sure that they blot.
@@Mr_Goody I did. It is flowing when it touch it with a Paper towel. I don't understand why it's not working and it is really a pain 😂
Did you ever figure it out I’m just wondering.

Why wait for 2 hrs?
It gives the ink time to absorb into the cartridge, it’s my opinion to wait that long, cause some cartridges have been sitting empty for awhile. But if you just ran out and you refilled it and as long as you test the cartridge to make sure it’s blotting, then you should be fine.
