Had total knee replacement about 18 months ago and you helped with my rehabilitation. I still stretch 5 days a week with some of the exercises you show here. Are there other stretches you can recommend. I still have some discomfort getting in and put of the car. Thanks.
Hi Mike! In particular, where exactly and what kind of discomfort have you been feeling when getting into/out of the car? Is it directly in the knee, under the patella, back of the knee? Is it trouble with bending it? Thanks for watching! Hope you’re doing well!
Your exercises are very good. I can understand little english. So so if you apply some sticker on knee like 0prated knee it will easy to understand And sir after every exercise write how many times and how much counts we should do. Thank you sir.
I was doing great after TKR. A PT student pressed on my knee with all of his might and I have been in pain for 3 weeks now. I am furious. I gave them a piece of my mind. I’m doing your exercises and not going back the therapy. My surgeon is okay with that. Thanks for the video.
Hi Tim, I really like your pre and post op knee replacement exercises. I've been home now just over two weeks and it was quite the experience. However, I know I need to complete the process by doing all the post op exercises for at least a year. I worked out in a gym all the time prior to surgery 2-3 times a week and did your exercises. I did an all round work out with weights for an hour, rode a stationary bike 25 min, stretched with knee and core exercises before and after. I'm 60 years. How long do you think it will be before I can go back to the gym again? Do you think its a good idea to have a stationary bike or recumbent bike in the home to help? I'm using a walker right now and I know its a marathon to get to being fully physically active again.
Hello Kent, I'm happy to hear that you're doing well after surgery. It's usually most beneficial to have a stationary or recumbent bike in the home for ease of use every day unless your gym is close-by and easy for you to get to. Most people struggle to get to the gym after surgery because they can't drive themselves and most people don't want to go to the gym at this point after surgery because you should only be doing the bike there, nothing else. Other machine-based exercises typically can be added in starting 2-3 months post-op. You really should check out my in-depth article on post-op expectations and exercises. You can find it here: pttimewithtim.com/exercises-after-knee-replacement-surgery/
@@PTTimewithTim Hi Tim, thanks for responding to me. Unfortunately, the gym at the community center is about 4-5 blocks away there and back. Definitely think its too soon to walk there even just to use their stationary or recumbent bikes. I don't have either bike in the home, but was contemplating purchasing one. Seems to me, its probably best to focus on exercises, like the ones in your article, (thanks) walk as best I can, continue to improve and in time, I'll be able to be active again maybe in 2-3 month as you mentioned :)
I don’t know ,you would think you would have that prior to surgery so you’re not looking for it after surgery that doesn’t even make sense. You can get really cheap recumbent bikes or stationary bikes on OfferUp for 20 30,50 to 150 200 bucks.

I have done TKR my left knee few days ago. Thanks for sharing the best exercise Mike
Thanks so much for these detailed exercises and demos
Thanks Tim, using this to help my mom after her TKR
I was told not to put anything behind my knee but focus on getting the knee straighting and bending. When should I focus on the quad ?
Thank you. Day two of my TKR and everything hurts. However these excercises help improve strengths and ROM.
