Hi Tim! So I had a TKR on 4/19/22. Following surgery, the pain meds could not be adjusted, as I was getting sick and very lightheaded where I couldn’t participate in any form of therapy while still in the hospital. I was transferred to a rehab facility where little to no P/T took place, not even while lying down in bed. I developed my first bout of diverticulitis while in rehab, so was given IV therapy for a week, and again, little to no P/T was done. I was released from rehab, still with diverticulitis symptoms and about a week later, was rushed to the hospital with either a continued bout or 2nd bout of diverticulitis. Until it fully cleared up, I could not participate in any other form of P/T other than “home” therapy where the therapist stayed with me for like 5 mins and did hardly anything. I began outpatient therapy on 6/16, (a long way off from the surgical date) and went 2x/week until covid hit me on 7/12. My therapist asked me if I had access to a pool and with research, I found an aquatic facility that took my insurance, and I’ve taken 5 sessions so far. My insurance approved me for 5 more visits with more pending, but they won’t approve both “land” and pool therapy at the same time. So, I’m going to continue with aquatics, my surgeon approved it with my commitment to continue with home exercises. Enter Tim Fraticelli! I love doing your exercises at home, I’ve combined it with the MedBridge Go program my last therapist sent me and I’m hoping beyond hope that I will soon begin to heal, walk, and be without pain. I know this has been a long saga, but any additional help/videos you can lead me to, would be greatly and is much needed. Thank you for all you do!
I’m into week 3 post op and have just found your channel. I have been doing the exercises but getting through them with a ‘personal trainer’ is so much better!! Thankyou!!
I had a total right knee replacement 3 weeks ago. It has been one of the most painful operations I have ever had. To add to this I had a total left ankle replacement and left toe fusion at the same time 10 months ago. This was a total different exercise program which interferes with my right knee replacement exercises. Your video has helped me move along. I will admit doing the exercise and pain is overwhelming sometimes. I like your video.I am 71 years old and the stress and pain is incredible but you just have to keep pushing forward. I found your video helpful as there are so many bad ones out there. Thank you so much
Just came across this short exercise routine. Total knee replacement nearly 4 weeks ago and the exercises given from 1st week by hospital were nearly impossible, overly long and complicated while they tried to cater for everybody, so I was struggling. Your bite sized exercise routine is wonderful. I am on day 3 and it’s getting easier and easier and I am walking much more easily. Thank you so much for your clear instructions, your gentle encouragement. You are a star!
I just had total knee replacement on both knees at the same time and it is awesome to have you walk me through these exercises. Thanking you in advance for your help and kind consideration in this very important matter.
Oh my god poor you. I think one knee is bad enough I was in so much pain with one. You are so brave. I'm.5months in since I got my op done. Now my other knee needs done. Waited 2 years for the 1st one. It's getting better but not fully bending yet. Less pain. Hope you are not in too much pain.
I had TKR 3 weeks ago. These are a a better discription of the exercises then I’ve gotten from my pt and are stimulating to do they 20 times a day with someone. This is a tremendously helpful series. My deepest thanks.
Very helpful, just going to have right knee replacement next Monday. I will certainly follow your exercise regime along with the one prescribed by my physiotherapists.
So happy to have found your videos as others have said much easier to do with someone to watch … ten days out from my second knee replacement so gonna work harder with this one to get to 110° faster end goal 120° 👍🏼👍🏼🤞🏼
I am 12 days out from having had a TKR. This video is so helpful, as it makes it very much easier doing these exercises with you. I am now doing them 4 times a day and see daily improvements.Thank you so much. Would like details of the follow on video.
Thank you 🥲 I had a TKR in 2015. 3 days ago I sat on floor going through some papers packed away. While I didn't feel like I was exerting my TKR knee, I was in that position leg stretched out for quite awhile. Once I got up, I felt nothing. The next day I couldn't even walk. My knee hurt too bad to bend backward or forward 😢 it feel like when I had the surgery. I couldn't remember what exercises I had done. I found your channel and thanks to your exercises, I am getting back my range of motion and movement again. Still hurts a little but pain is lessening. I don't know what I did that hurt my leg after all of this time but your channel is helping. These were the exercises I had to do in 2015 but couldn't remember. Thank you so much.
I’m almost three weeks post op total knee replacement. Your video will help me focus and push through the pain and do the work to restore function to my leg.
The one I just had done was a revision, I'm rocking it at pt. They couldn't believe how fast I did things the day after surgery. I enjoy doing these exercises.
Love these exercises and how well you explain how to do them and what they are for. I had my second knee replacement 6 weeks ago and can incorporate these exercises into my current program. You are a delightful young man.
Hi Cathy! May I ask what other program you’re doing? I have searched endlessly for more videos and have even asked Tim as well, but nothing that even comes close to Tim’s. I want to add more on to this, but can’t seem to find any others that I already do. Please help?
Hi, just curious if you are still experiencing knee tightening/ swelling I'm 2 weeks post and doing everything I'm told but the swelling and stiffness is extremely painful
@@melissaa2639 I’m not sure who your question was meant for, but I’d like to say I had mine done in 4/19/22 and still have a lot of stiffness/swelling and pain. I had some other medical issues that pushed my therapy way back, so I’m trying to catch up on it as best I can. I go to aquatic therapy 2x/week, just hit a mini peddler and 2 dvds from growyoungfitness but it’s not like Tim’s at all ☹️. I wish you all the very best and hope you’re feeling better real soon!
@@jo-annegreco9885 I think I am feeling anxious because my PT guy told me that if I don't move and do exercises scar tissue will develop and could lead to corrective surgery. I thank you for taking the time to reply. And hope you have a speedy recovery 🙏
@@melissaa2639 yes, the first PT person told me I may have to have what’s called a revision or something like that, I asked my surgeon & he told me I don’t need it. I think the PT.s tell us that so they can guarantee we continue to come to them but it scared the hell out of me when the PT told me that! If you can, try to massage the incision and surrounding areas, especially where the swelling is the worst, as hard as you can stand it, to move the scar tissue around, ice & elevate and feel better real soon!
I'm so pleased I found your helpful video today. I'm 7.5 mnths post TKR (including MUA) and haven't had the easiest recovery. This is most helpful video I have come across. Thankyou so much.
I just had replacement 4 days ago. Went to 2 PT sessions already but yesterday i couldn’t do a leg lift at all. Listened and followed your video and managed to do all ten. Wow, i will be following you in the future, thank you so much!
Tim, thank you very much for taking the time to do that. It is a fantastic encouragement for the days between physical rehab. I do these twice each day 👍…. Thanks again. I have certainly subscribed.
I'm heading into my 4th week post surgery, full replacement. You do a few additional things to what I have learned. I like the additional pull with towel to increase flexion. I'm a 77 yr. old gay male and your youthful voice and personality are refreshing. I'm aiming for a full recovery because I have a brother who, despite an additional surgery still has pain. Another much older friend had the same experience, though I don't think he was in great shape before the surgery. It was getting very difficult to walk before the surgery and now I can carefully walk without the cane, though I carry it nearby. Thanks for the shared video. I will use this again.
thank you 18 weeks and after prednizone withdrawal I'm back with you and feeling better cwhew long recovery but meditations giving myself ok to feelings I've been following you since jan10
Excellent and well explained excersises I had my surgery on 02-16-23 and I’m doing good so far now I can add those to schedule and keep going. Thanks so much.Blessings.
So glad you found it! I’m releasing a series of videos for total knee rehab. Can I send them to you for free? Email me at Tim@PTProgress.com and I’ll send them over :) I just need additional feedback from more people who are going through a knee replacement!
Hi I had a full knee replacement in Jun 15th of this year. I want you to know that I love your 10 Minute work out. Since I found it last week I do it 2 or 3 times a day.Thank you. I have been trying find the previous video where discuss the 6 most important exercises for knee replacement. Could u help? Ty
I had a full knee replacement in February, on my right knee but I have had 2 injuries after my operation I fell up a flight of stairs due to the rain making the stairs wet and I landed on my right knee then about 6 weeks ago I fell out of bed landing on my right knee I've had xrays taken which have confirmed I've torn all the ligaments at the back of my knee and seriously damaged the tissues around the front of my knee I've been told not to exercise until I see my consultant but the pain is excruciating can I do little exercises like the ones in your videos
Am Carolyne. I had TKR on both knees. Your clear demos have helped me so much with the 2nd Painful R knee done on 11/17/22. I am getting there though still very tight esp at night @90° Thanks so much.
Fantastic video extremely helpful and with you doing the pt with your followers is why I enjoyed your video - I'm 4 weeks po and on road to full recovery but my pt just seem to push me a little to hard and I'm down the next day. You video allows me to still do the full pt workout at more my own pace to strengthen my knee and I can pause you too work my other knee too since it is being replaced in a few months. Which when I go to therapy they will only concertatre on the one surgery knee and my other knee is buckling. So now I have the best of work outs fir both my knees in the convience of my own home.. Overall thank you think you and your videos are amazing......keep us the good work - you are highly appreciated
Thanks Tim I'm in a process of my exercise both of my knee replacement. Found your exercise is very helpful and very well to follow .your new subscriber.
I am 1 week out from right total knee replacement. I want to thank you for making this PT video. This is actually what I was looking for. What diameter is that roll? Thanks again for your help.
I'm in lots of pain starting week 2. I just did my exercises but will use your video the next time. I've been doing these and more with PT. It's rough.
Thanks! i had my partial knee replacement last week and am using these exercises three times a day to work te knee. i have the idea that the bandage on the knee prevents easy stretching as it is tightly attached to the skin and therefore does not easily give in when stretching the knee. Other than that, all is well. thanks for this clip!
I just had Total knee replacement about 3 weeks ago, the exercises are so difficult, because the knee feels so tight on the inside and the outside, the inflammation has gone down somewhat, I am icing it as much as possible, but it's very frustrating that I don't have any more than about 85° of bend. I'm currently going to physical therapy but struggling to do some of the exercises I'm hoping that this will get easier. My fear is that I'm developing scar tissue. Thank you so much please workouts, if there's anything you can possibly add to help me I would greatly appreciate it
I had replacement four days ago and it's three in the morning and I watch the video to be honest with you if it's great to have somebody that just had a knee replacement and use them as your subject so folks will experience or how painful it is. You obviously make it look so easy. I'm 64 years old and can make it through but the leg pickups are almost impossible this point in time. I use my good left need to help lift the leg up that works.
@@PTProgress very much I showed it to my PT guy and he said the only one I shouldn't do so early is the towel under the knee and lifting the legs. It's been 5 days and he said I'm over 95 degrees and I can go straight. I'll save the link and do it a couple times a day
Thank you. This is very helpful. My husband is 3.5 weeks post op. It’s his second knee replacement on the same knee. He is experiencing a painful thigh with the flexing and extending exercises. Given that he is 84, do you have any tips for the thigh
@@paulaschubach1625 After 3 months of PT my knee was still swollen so I went back to my doctor and he was so shocked to find out I was still doing PT. He told me to quit immediately and then after I quit PT my leg got better instantly.Turns out the PT was causing it to swell and delay healing!
What I was looking for was Jane Fonda getting a new knee and working out pre/post op. Anyone would do. I just want to 'follow along' and get better too. Close though. Thanks Tim.
These are all excellent- exactly how my PT showed me. Good work. Laying down on the floor and sliding the foot up and down the wall (letting gravity pull your leg down) works wonders too!
I am 3 months post op right knee replacement. I do the leg 3 sets of 10 . The last 10 burns your leg feels like 100 lbs. but vey beneficial . I am 103 degree bend and minus 2 straight out . My pt says I am on sch. And I do work hard . Good luck
Im at 6 weeks and freaking out because I'm only at 95 degrees. Last week I was 90 but its so slow and hard! My knee is straight in the back so that's one good thing. I told my doctor that I was going to Hawaii with my grandson for a graduation gift July 7 which is seven weeks after my surgery date. I asked him if I should wait and have the surgery until I come back and he said no you should be fine. Well I'm not fine. I can't drive still because when I push the pedal it hurts I can barely can sit in a car for more than 10 minutes. Did you have any of these issues? I'm really trying I'm really working out every day and pushing and pushing. The exercises on this video are all something that I've done at PT but it's nice to have them all together like he has so I'm going to do those three times a day. Next week I'll be on seven planes! Yikes! I better bring a cane lol. - Kathy

Hi,I had an ACL surgery 3 years ago and i was suffering from a scare tissue tha didn't allow me to reach the full motion and swelling and pain after an easy exercises I had an orthoscopy last week Dobyou think i can reach the full motion or its too late?
How can I tell how much flex I'm getting at home without the use of the tool the PT used. I'm shooting for 120 to 125 degrees and I'm 7 weeks out of TKR. Appreciate any help! Thanks!
Hi Tim, will these exercises help strengthen the knees? I am starting to develop some knee pain when sitting for a long period of time. I get pain in the inside of my inner knees. My doctor said I need to start doing knee muscle-building exercises. They believe it is arthritis setting in.
I'm three months post-op tkr. I do the home exercises every day three sets plus some others and go to PT twice a week. My extension is good but my flexion is still at 98 degrees and I do have some knee swelling. I'm a 68 year old woman, trim and in pretty good shape. Do you think if I continue doing the exercises eventually my flexion will improve? Thanks.
Yes, keep it up and you should see more progress. It typically takes a year for the swelling to decrease which is likely a big part of your flexion issue.
Not quite 6 weeks post op. Have followed all PT exercises at home religiously and even added a couple more to my regimen. Have gone to PT 3 days a week and have not missed a single session. Elevated often and.iced at least 2-3 times daily. Despite all this, I am only at 99% flexion and 6% extention. My knee simply will not bend. I have even had my wife put her full weight on my knee for extension purposes. When she does the back of my knee touches the floor as it should...as soon as she gets off, it Springs right back to where it was. PT says I need an MUA. How can I avoid this?
Hi Tim. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks post op. First 2 weeks was in house PT. PA wasn't happy with my progress at my 2 week f/u. Started outpatient PT that same week. 4 weeks in ans my flexion went from 70 to 96 degrees. Extension from 12 to 6. I'm concerned that at 4 weeks I still start PT with pain / tightness and have to work towards motion each time. Is this normal at this junction? I came across your 6 exercises yesterday and have started them today on none PT days to keep progress moving forward. I realize everyone is different in their recovery / rehab time frame but do you have any suggestions / comments on what a 4 week PO recovery should be at? Thanks!

Hi I had a full knee replacement in Jun 15th of this year. I want you to know that I love your 10 Minute work out. Since I found it last week I do it 2 or 3 times a day.Thank you. I’m 10 days post op from total knee replacement. Yikes the pain. Just found your channel n love it. Will be doing all these. Thank you.
@@elizabethtelford3332 that must’ve been so awful for you. I hope you recovered.
Just had meniscus surgery 4 days post op and find these exercises & your compAny helpful!
Am Carolyne. I had TKR on both knees. Your clear demos have helped me so much with the 2nd Painful R knee done on 11/17/22. I am getting there though still very tight esp at night @90° Thanks so much.
Hi again Dr Tim, PLEASE add some more TKR exercises 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing! I wish you the best with your recovery!
better that your PT pushes you, and not just sticks you on a piece of machinery
Thanks Tim I'm in a process of my exercise both of my knee replacement.
Found your exercise is very helpful and very well to follow .your new subscriber.
Thank you 😊
I am 1 week out from right total knee replacement. I want to thank you for making this PT video. This is actually what I was looking for. What diameter is that roll? Thanks again for your help.
Thanks so much for the exercise. It really helped me a lot. Though it was difficult to do in the beginning.
Great presentation very helpful
I'm in lots of pain starting week 2. I just did my exercises but will use your video the next time. I've been doing these and more with PT. It's rough.
Makes it so much easier to follow someone thanks
Today is my 7th day. I had a complete knee replacement surgery. Just wait to be glad I did this right now it’s like I am thinking what have I done
Thanks! i had my partial knee replacement last week and am using these exercises three times a day to work te knee. i have the idea that the bandage on the knee prevents easy stretching as it is tightly attached to the skin and therefore does not easily give in when stretching the knee. Other than that, all is well. thanks for this clip!
Had bilateral total knee replacement. Done with PT after six weeks and doctor released me.
Thank you so much for this video. It’s been very helpful I’m I 1 week week post op.
Thank you so much please workouts, if there's anything you can possibly add to help me I would greatly appreciate it
Great video, 6 days post, yesterday was the worst day ever. no pain just swollen and no motion.
Knee replaced 5 weeks ago, fully recovered and running around again, no worries.
Excellent, now if I can just find the motivation.
Thank you! I'll see you in the morning!
Very helpful thanks😊
I had replacement four days ago and it's three in the morning and I watch the video to be honest with you if it's great to have somebody that just had a knee replacement and use them as your subject so folks will experience or how painful it is. You obviously make it look so easy. I'm 64 years old and can make it through but the leg pickups are almost impossible this point in time. I use my good left need to help lift the leg up that works.
Hi Pat - good luck with your recovery! Hope you found the video to be helpful
@@PTProgress very much I showed it to my PT guy and he said the only one I shouldn't do so early is the towel under the knee and lifting the legs. It's been 5 days and he said I'm over 95 degrees and I can go straight. I'll save the link and do it a couple times a day
Thank you!!!! Great. I’m pre surgery 😊
This so helpful, thank you! ❤
Thank you. This is very helpful. My husband is 3.5 weeks post op. It’s his second knee replacement on the same knee. He is experiencing a painful thigh with the flexing and extending exercises. Given that he is 84, do you have any tips for the thigh
Great video. At 6 week's post op I'm only at 95 degrees flexion. Im going to do these exercises on my PT off days
I barely got to 75 today 8 weeks post op. I had a lot of complications and just finished my second week of outpatient PT.
Thanks Tim.
well done - those area what my PT had me doing starting on my 2nd day after surgery
I had a replacement 2 weeks so tjis really helps
very good explanation
Thanks a lot. Very helpful
These are all excellent- exactly how my PT showed me. Good work. Laying down on the floor and sliding the foot up and down the wall (letting gravity pull your leg down) works wonders too!
This is a real video thanks
- Kathy
THANK U
I like to do exercises with your video for my knee replacement you make it fun /

I just saw your exercises really very much helpful. Going for left leg knee replacement within 10 days. I had right knee replacement on 31st March 2021. Can I do exercises before knee replacement of my left leg.
Hi Kishore! These exercises are helpful before a knee replacement as well - best of luck with your recovery!!

How can I tell how much flex I'm getting at home without the use of the tool the PT used. I'm shooting for 120 to 125 degrees and I'm 7 weeks out of TKR. Appreciate any help! Thanks!
Thanks
Elevate and ice when you are sitting or resting
I had knee replacement and femur surgery, therefore I have scare tissue. What home exercise can I do to be able to walk again? Thanks
I'm 8 months tkr still limping what should I do to help me
Are these excercises good for recovery after a patella fracture also? And how many times a day should you do it to gain muscle and flexion back?
@@PTProgress thank you so much. Very encouraging.
I'm 60 and recovering from a broken femur, maybe massage your knee yourself, it helps with the pain and swelling
Thanks!
I had a knee replacement over 18 months ago and still having trouble with it. Hard to get underwire and trousers on, knee stiff . Any help for that?
Thank you....💞
Please give us more tkr exercises!
I didn’t have any insurance for therapy and now it’s six years later and I hurt all the time is it anything or exercise I can do to help?
I had a knee replacement a month ago
