I'm already on your email list, hopefully I'll receive this one soon! Last one i received was about "reading" a couple of days ago, and my thoughts on that one are "estoy de acuerdo"! muchas gracias!!!
Another great breakdown of a confusing set of concepts, making them not only understandable, but memorable, so it’s not just forgotten 10 min after watching your video! You guys are so damn good at this!
This was incredibly helpful! Ya has been such a challenging word to understand. Muchas Gracias por todo lo que hacen ustedes! He aprendido mucho con tu ayuda.😍
I like that! At some point I remember realizing that "already" should be more like "as of now", which seemed to go better with the meaning of Ya. As of now I have eaten, as of now I don't eat cheese. Anyway, thinking of Ya as "now" helps my mind.
I love your channel! This is an off subject question... I was wondering if you could help me with names of a tennis court? Net, doubles , serve, court, etc...
Hey Andres :) Thanks so much for the kind words! Here's some tennis related vocab - la red = net // el saque = serve // un ace O un saque directo = ace // un revés = backhand // una derecha = forehand // una cancha de tenis = a tennis court // una raqueta = racket // individuales = singles // dobles = doubles
How about Ya! As in enough or no more? Like in an argument. Ya! Or Basta ya! Jajaja, I should have waited to watch more before I wrote. I say ya no cómo carne a lot because I quit eating it a few years ago and need to explain that in some restaurants when on vacation. You guys keep reading my mind! 😂
Nicely done 👍 But all this is quite standard in the average textbook or an intermediate grammar book. What about "ya" as a stand-alone interjection? You don't find that usage neither in those books nor in your presentation. It simply means "yes" or - surprise - (English) "ya".
Hey Konrad :) Yep, that's a good one! This vid was more of a general overview, but we might do another one on expressions with "ya" soon! Thanks for watching 🤗
Hey :) They're actually all correct: Ya puedo bailar = I can dance now (imagine an egg timer ringing to emphasize the "now") Ya bailé = I already danced (egg timer finished ringing + the action is complete) Ya bailaré pronto = I will dance soon (egg timer about to ring + "ya" emphasizes that the action is gonna happen soon!) Hope that helps 🤗
Good question! It varies depending on regional accents and individual speech patterns. In much of Spain and Latin America, the "y" is said kinda like the "y" in "yes." In Argentina and Uruguay, however, it can sound more like "sh" or the French "j" in "jour" :)

Love the combo of you two together. I'm also learning lots.....
Thanks so much, Tim! Do you think the English + Spanish format works well, or would it be better if we just spoke Spanish?
Soy nuevo aquí. Gracias por las frases mexicanas

"Ya no tengo miedo salir de zona de mi comodidad."
Casi :) Sería "Ya no tengo miedo de salir de mi zona de comfort"... al menos en México se dice así. Un abrazo fuerte 🤗

When saying “ya” why does it sometimes seem to start w a y sound and sometimes a j sound?

Is not “voy” from “ir”? Wouldn’t “I’m coming” be “ya me vengo”?
Hey :) Nope, "ya me vengo" means something quite different... whack it into Chat GPT if you wanna find out ;)
Ya entiendo como utilizar la palabra “ya” 😅
¡Perfecto! Te sacaste un diez 😉
Ya no uso tarjetas didácticas para estudiar español.
