in Germany almost everyone downgrades to the Vortex Filter. It is much more capable of filtering the oil than the zyklon (you just upgraded to). Even BMW suggest in Rheingold to downgrade. The only downside withthe vortex is, that you have to change it regularly (every 30.000 km - max. 50.000 km).
You basically solved my issue . I have 525d with m57Tu2 . Smokes like yours exactly so I need to do this. But I think my breather might be the vortex type. Not loo roll type. Loo roll type is better even though vortex is new version.
@@helpfromthegarage1677 hy i have the same sound coming from the turbo, but it sounds louder when its cold. What was your problem with that turbo sound? Thanks.
Looroll type isn't better. It was introduced with a PUMA action for people driving a lot through the city with lots of stop and go and low rev all the time. The Looroll should be exchanged with every oil change cause it's getting airtight like very quick. This is causing a higher pressure to the crankcase pushing oil through the turbo charger. If you are not driving city /stop and go like >=75% all the time you better use the zyklon unit.

There may be a malfunction in the crankcase ventilation system or wear on the turbine. Also, the reasons may be valve stem seals or wear of piston rings.

You should use the updated version of the filter.

That toilet paper type filter will have to be replaced every second oil change. You should use the new vortex type.
But why is there still smoke on the oil cap??
Zato,Predrage:-D,jer motor nije bas nov,vec ima kilometara iza sebe
I have bmw e60 535d sometimes it's smokes and smell like a burning oil. Sometimes a lot of smoke sometimes just little bit

You put e53 in the title but the car is really a m53. Not helpful
Actually he is correct. The model is E53 and engine code is M57.
