The need to buy art supplies of all types is hard to resist!! I have two brand new Kakuna pens that I'm so excited to use, but I'm not letting myself use any of my new art supplies until i finish my current project. It's hard not to though - one of the pens has a smiley on the nib, and the other has a winky face!! Also, I totally understand why you would want to have some private time doing art without recording. I just started a UA-cam channel, and I already value my privacy a bit more! Worth it though. I'm really loving the art community here on UA-cam. Your paintings are beautiful!! The colors are just gorgeous!
I've been into to needle point pens since your pilot video. I'm happy that I can find those types at Japanese dollar stores. Lovely paintings. I'm glad that you're finding the process peaceful.
I have had the same struggles with the technical pens of which you speak. They are so lovely when they function properly, but they are too inconsistent to say I enjoy them.
@@sarahleeann7208 They are like needle tip pens traditionally used in drafting. Peter uses them in many of the videos from about a year or two ago. They make awesome fine lines, but they are much higher maintenance than even your average fountain pen. There are a few companies that make them still, Rotring is probably the most well known.
I really like this drawing. Also, your paintings look great and they look even more great together. Maybe one day we'll see you featuring them at a gallery opening!
originally purchased the gel pens by accident after searching for muji gel pens. when they arrived I realized they were a "knock off". but after using them, i decided they were pretty awesome. purchased kitty pens because i thought they were cute. turns out i liked them as drawing instruments as well.
the washi tape has ducks and d20s (dice). they were a backer reward for a kickstarter for acrylic dice sets with rubber duckies in them. design wise it is .... incongruous?

I have a Namiki fine and medium point, I can use the none traditional drawing face of the pen down and get a much thinner drawing point. It’s my favorite fountain pen.

Hullo Peter, I have had to record demonstrations and workshops. I found using an oblique angle with the camera and 45% angled lights I was able to catch the “action” of the demo just fine. I used Adobe Premier editing to correct the parallax so the canvas surface was squared up. I am sure there are less expensive options for recording to digital these days as everyone seems to be making videos! I believe that you should have private creation time and if that is your painting that’s cool. Thank you for sharing all of your drawings that you do! Please take care, be safe, don’t let the bastards get ya down!

Hey, Peter. Could you please do Minecraft again? I recently re-watched your other two seasons and really enjoyed them quite a bit, more so than other player's endeavors. A new Minecraft season would be much obliged particularly if you're not terribly busy. Your gameplay style is too cool and unique especially when you go hunting for diamonds. You're normally so relaxed, but those diamonds just get you so obsessed! It's so entertaining. I love all of your works, which include when you do Minecraft. (Feed Pablo!) Thank you.
I’ve had the same issues with rotring along with a few others, try staedler, I love their technical pens and their lead holders are supreme for drafting, I use the 2mm lead holders whenever I’m just coming up with designs for tattoos and need em to be quick but not permanent in case they want changes and I get some good work done pretty fast with them especially using 2b lead, it’s softer so u can have darker shades but still erase it easier than hb, never had their technical pen fail on me tho
Haha yeah I did play with it for a while longer, but then it was starting to make me feel weird, motion sick or something, and I don’t usually get motion sick
What the heck dude...your attic looks so clean....all the attics I've encountered, are super dusty and dirty with tons of cob webs and might have rats and or other unwanted critters.
2 things i am now still mastering the mandela so i am glad you showed me how any shape can become a mandela because i am useing a brush pen and is drawing from imagination i knew any shape could make a mandela but didnt know it so thanks but what can you do with a brush pen i learned how to control the flow of a brush pen all you have to do is watch how much ink fills the tip let it it almost be littile more than 25% of the tip or at most a little les than 50% of the tip so watch the clear part as you sqeez it an dont sqeez to hard

A while back, I came across a pen called the "pitchman closer fountain pen," and I happened to get one. They're expensive, but imo they're more than worth the money paid. My fella thinks I'm weird because I love pens/paper/pencils/ cardboard. You name it I love the differences. Yet he knows how to make me smile , when he brings home a pen or whatever... I'm so easily pleased. (I'm using his phone by the way..)
Oil paint seems to be good for paintings that may need more than 15 minutes for blending time That's my favorite part of oil paint but honestly I've observed that the time available for blending is still less than I had envisioned it'd be

I’ve never tried oil paint yet just because of the price. I’ve imitated the oil painting technique using acrylic paint but it makes blending a lot more difficult.
The fountain pen curse has begun to take hold of me. I bought two pens...I bought inks...and I have not filled the pens yet because I'm afraid it will be the true pass beyond the event horizon.
Noodler's has a couple of their pen models that have rollerball tips instead of regular fountain nibs, although I think they are about to roll out a new model in the US. I have one, but I got it mainly for the brush tip that comes with it, so I haven't tried the rollerball yet. Another new(ish) company, Yookers, makes several refillable pens that use fountain pen ink but have a hard fiber fine tip, kind of like a fineliner, and I have heard some good things about those. I love fountain pens, but there is a bit of a hole when it comes to reliable, very fine tipped pens. Oh also, I think you are right about acrylic paints. They have gotten very good, and you can even increase dry time with blending mediums and such. I still love the tactile experience of oil paints, but in reality I think acrylics have gotten to the point where there aren't many non-subjective reasons to use them.
i have two yookers metis fiber pens. i really like them. there are limitations. they are best with thinner inks and even then they don't always flow like i want. some inks do dry on the tip while the cap is on and get crusty. if you can deal with that, yookers will do you right. also.. 0.8 is the smallest. that is fine enough for me but it isn't as fine as some folks would like, i suspect.
Love your drawings! I recently came across Nick Stewart's fountain pen ink "paintings". He uses a technique called chromatography which you might be familiar with, but if you're not I think you might be interested in it!
Rotring Clogging Solved! I stopped using the rotring ink. switched to fountain pen ink. i use DeAtrimentis document inks. waterproof, lightfast etc. even my ultra fine .10 tips dont clog anymore. Try it my brother. come back to the land of the needlepoint nib!

Me too. There is a company that makes kind of hard fiber tipped pens that can take fountain pen ink, that I have been meaning to try.

For a super fine line from a fountain pen, try reverse writing. With a reversed Noodler's Nib Creaper I can draw a remarkably thin line.
