    The need to buy art supplies of all types is hard to resist!! I have two brand new Kakuna pens that I'm so excited to use, but I'm not letting myself use any of my new art supplies until i finish my current project. It's hard not to though - one of the pens has a smiley on the nib, and the other has a winky face!! Also, I totally understand why you would want to have some private time doing art without recording. I just started a UA-cam channel, and I already value my privacy a bit more! Worth it though. I'm really loving the art community here on UA-cam. Your paintings are beautiful!! The colors are just gorgeous!

    Hullo Peter, I have had to record demonstrations and workshops. I found using an oblique angle with the camera and 45% angled lights I was able to catch the “action” of the demo just fine. I used Adobe Premier editing to correct the parallax so the canvas surface was squared up. I am sure there are less expensive options for recording to digital these days as everyone seems to be making videos! Noodler's has a couple of their pen models that have rollerball tips instead of regular fountain nibs, although I think they are about to roll out a new model in the US. I have one, but I got it mainly for the brush tip that comes with it, so I haven't tried the rollerball yet. Another new(ish) company, Yookers, makes several refillable pens that use fountain pen ink but have a hard fiber fine tip, kind of like a fineliner, and I have heard some good things about those. I love fountain pens, but there is a bit of a hole when it comes to reliable, very fine tipped pens. Oh also, I think you are right about acrylic paints. They have gotten very good, and you can even increase dry time with blending mediums and such. I still love the tactile experience of oil paints, but in reality I think acrylics have gotten to the point where there aren't many non-subjective reasons to use them.

    • @whackly
      @whackly 2 роки тому +1

      i have two yookers metis fiber pens. i really like them. there are limitations. they are best with thinner inks and even then they don't always flow like i want. some inks do dry on the tip while the cap is on and get crusty. if you can deal with that, yookers will do you right.
      also.. 0.8 is the smallest. that is fine enough for me but it isn't as fine as some folks would like, i suspect.
