- It's about that time. I put off going to any sort of art school for a long time, for various reasons. I'm very optimistic about it though. When it's the right time, it's the right time, and if I don't like it, I'll just stop. Maybe.
A big thank you to Heike and Opal for the treats and gifts today, and everyone else who sends stuff!

Dear Peter. When you open the coffee you find coffeepowder. It is hard like a stone because there is no more air in the bag. Thank you for unboxing my packet in your video. I´m sooo happy that you like it all. Love from Germany, Heike
Prinzessin Lillifee was a great idea lol
@@alvidachan I guess, the best idea was the Kinder Überraschung egg. 😁
Thank you Heike! I have eaten all of the candy and chocolate already, it was delicious, and I had a cup of the tea last night.
Hey Heike i know this sounds crazy of me to ask as a stranger but I do live In America and I’m trying to learn German it’s a fantastisch language and if you speak German can you teach me please.. :)
@@schrodinger7265 Hey Schrödinger, of course I speak German. I am German. If I can help you learning the language, I would do it. Write any Emailadress here and I answer via Email.
look at this madlad perfectly pronouncing "Suppenfleisch" right out of the box
I support whatever degree you pursue. You’re a genuine, interesting, unique, cool as person and I’m here for it 😎
Ikr! He's just simply awesome
I have a degree in interior design and did it for a few years. 10% of that job is fun design, the rest is paperwork, client hand holding, and coordinating stressful deadlines.
I ended up hating most of it and now I'm a full time artist and happiest version of myself 😁
I thought he was studying architecture? Seems like most degrees you eventually end up doing stuff you didn't study and weren't passionate about. I know a guy who is an Agricultural Architect. He helps people figure out what kind of plants they can put around their homes, that complies with the neighborhood's requirements. So he knows a bunch of plant species but also architecture and has to deal with regulations.
Oh great. I’m in school for interior design rn 🙂
Hey Peter. I’ve watched your videos since you started. Just wanted to say, you have been the greatest help to my mental. Through suicidal thoughts and general depression. Watching and REwatching your videos makes my days worth it. Thank you
Stay with us, ninjaman. We can enjoy the treats together!
(づ◔ ͜ʖ◔)づ
It gets better. Stay strong.
Hi Peter, I've been watching your videos for a couple of months and I admire your work! I've noticed that you use black ink more 👍🏻 do you have any ink preference? a hug! 😘
"What do I like doing?"
I should have listened when I asked myself this at university. I invested a lot of time getting a software engineering degree. I could program and get some enjoyment with the problem solving. However, I always had this strange feeling that I did not belong there. I ignored those feelings and finished the degree because I was also scared for the future.
After working as a software engineer for a few years, I made a lot of money but ended up burning out. My life went to shambles and I'm still trying to figure out where to go from here. Maybe I will go back to school and do something with mathematics and physics.
Anyways, it's very good to hear that you decided to listen to yourself rather than that fear for the future. I wish you all the best!
❤️
I think I'm on a similar path as yours (web dev) what did you do on the burnout phase? Are you still working as a dev? Sending you lots of hugs bro
@@suddha1 I am no longer a software developer. I was working on new technology demos for the automotive industry. There were a lot of factors contributing to the burnout: employees leaving and being pushed to take responsibility for projects not suitable for my background, a blurring of work life and home life, dealing with petty office politics, receiving little feedback from managers, having a general feeling of no professional growth, and of course having very little passion for software development. It is strange that I did not feel like I was being overworked, but there came a point where it felt like I could not function anymore.
Listen to your feelings and do what you can to prevent burnout. Recovering from burnout can be difficult.
Future does not exist but present does, present actions will decipher where you go in life
I’ve made a choice to follow the Christ path and read the Bible and see if I can light up other peoples day with my smiles and it’s been going great! :) if you pray you’ll be listened to and guided, have a good day
I think it would be hilarious if your allowed to have square space sponsor your homework.
One of the best motivations
The madman is actually doing it, and we get free art school
Weird to say, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing homework for once 😁
I have absolutely no doubt you'll get your art in a museum some day!
I like this major switch, I didn't totally understand the interior architecture degree. This seems a lot more Petery.
Im proud to have been here, supporting you to whatever extent, for enough years that Ive watched you growing older and wiser and much more successful. Also maybe Im reading too deep, but if indeed you are learning to accept your success as valid and worthy and becoming more comfortable to do what you love doing, as someone who grew up poor and was wokring class until only a handful of years ago, its a unique milestone in my opinion and deserves sincere congratulations and gratitude.
Either way congrats and have fun Im looking forward to more.
Go Peter! I got a bachelors in painting, but I was extremely mentally unwell when I did it. I wanted to drop out and only finished because of pressure from my parents. I wish I had taken the time in my 20s to get mental health treatment and start a degree later in life, when I was ready. Now I’m in my 30s, doing way better mentally and I wish I could have a do-over for art school. Of course, it’s never too late to just make art.😎You’re an inspiration in going your own way, Peter. I can’t wait to see what you get up to with your homework! 💖
As a parent of kids who enjoy a Kinder Egg from time to time, I applaud you on only taking 5 hours to put together the toy because at times I'm convinced an advanced engineering degree is required to complete the construction.
Thumbs up. You are growing and becoming a tree. Branching out with leaves to catch the sun. The suns rays strengthen the core. The trunk grows stronger. You will have many avenues to branch out in. Enjoy the adventure. You got the golden ticket.
Totally okay to change your mind! No point to 'sticking with it' if you already know you won't be motivated or interested. Wishing you well!
As long as it’s legal, do what makes you happy! Don’t do what you think you SHOULD do!! Do art Peter! That is who you are!!!!!
I think him profiting from his homework is a civil torte at worst- but not a “crime” lol. His uni can for sure send him a cease and desist and will Pursue legal action if he continues. They own everything you make under their instruction.
Came back to your channel after a little while away. Last time I was here you'd just broken 100k...now you're almost breaking 1m. Incredible growth and absolutely deserved 👏 what a man
Our desires to be and do and have change all the time. That is what life is. Peter, you are wonderful. I truly enjoy listening to and watching you being you.
I am so excited for you! I've done a lot of school myself: university where I studied archaeology, art school, special fx makeup school, carpentry college... All education is valuable, and even if you don't do architecture, what you learned in that program will make you more versatile and better at problem solving. Art school didn't do a whole lot for me, but I really didn't have a plan. You are going in to it a lot more clear-eyed. I wonder how many of your classmates will turn out to be fans!
Good luck, Peter! Have fun. Learn lots!
Never hurry to get out of school! Enjoy it!
Your fashion and style has really upped itself over the years! Bravo dapper young chap 👏 😁
I went to art school in 1980. Still friends with my fellow artists!
Good luck Peter. It's a good choice.
Peter, you are amazing, don't let anyone box you in. You are one of a kind.
Trying to imagine what's to come in your art literally breaks my brain.
What a cuddly fellow... Full of bright ideas, chocolate gifts and squiggly drawing surprises... More, more.
I just started my last semester for my mechanical engineering degree. It's been so long and boring and the complete opposite of what I thought engineering would be. I went to college thinking I'd be learning how to build and create stuff so I could be like a Mythbuster one day (Mythbusters inspired me to learn about engineering and science) so far over the last few years all I've done is non stop math problems and I honestly hate knowing that I'm now so far in debt and nearly with a degree for a subject that I've almost grown to hate. I hope once I get a job outside college things will change.
Best of luck with your endeavors Peter!
I'm a senior in highschool. Growing up really good at math, it made sense to be an architect or engineer. I just keep hearing about people who get these degrees and don't use them.
Structural engineer here! I think a lot of the creativity from engineering comes knowing how to apply dry technical knowledge to a wide variety of problems. You learn the fundamentals in school but the application won’t come until a couple of years out of college. I hope you’re able to find something you like doing AND pays the bills! It sounds like you’d like something more along the lines of industrial design or a more focused degree, like getting a PhD to specialize and do more hands on work.
If you want fun, relaxed engineering, seek out a small bike company. They're always so cool, just want to make cool fun stuff, want to innovate, and drink lots of beer.
I'm glad you switch majors to art. You already make a living from your art, so what have you got to lose? You're like the perfect art student!
Very satisfying to watch the black spaces being speed filled.
I’m so proud of you Peter!! Art school is a lot of fun and very challenging. Art history class can be boring, but there are a lot of good art pieces to look at. Intermediate drawing is fun, youre past the fundamentals and can get into some different view points and learn some new skills. I had a lot of fun in that class. Lots of homework, don’t get overwhelmed. I recommend a planner and plan out your homework/projects. So you don’t get burnt out on art in general.
Wishing you luck!!
I would love to go to art school. That’s a great choice you’ve made.
Peter I’m very proud of you because it’s hard just figuring out what you want to do and we all will support you in anyway possible you always give us very good content and we all love your art so keep it up and maybe your lovely and awesome artwork will be in a museum you never know what might happen, one day your drawing and the next day your artwork is in a big place just sitting in a room that everyone can see and look at it and say hey I want to try that and maybe they will be like you.
So like you said “dream big” and I say it will happen if you keep trying
You are inspiring peter..I dig what you do on your channel...when you draw..its mesmerizing...enjoy the background scene as well...
Yes! Me too.. Right all those colourful paintings of his :)
Art makes the journey of life visible. You will learn more tools to do this in art school. Hope you find artist friends too. Your heart and brain are leading you the right way. Thanks for sharing the process with us.
Congrats! I think you will like the change! It is honestly more that you get a degree than what it is in to get past hr gatekeeping, unless you’re going for something super specific. Heck I’m in IT and my BA is in psychology. It will be exciting to watch your progress especially as my teen is talking about art school. They live with their iPad and pencil or a sketchbook in hand! I hope you’re staying here in Greensboro, we need all the variety we can get!
I think a lot of the seniors get their art in the museum as like a senior capstone showcase. So you should be able to achieve that goal senior year.
"...I just realized I don't care. OK?"
Live your truth, Peter! You, sir, are a friggin ARTIST!
Peter,
You are already successful! How many other students can say they have a successful UA-cam channel with over 960,000 subscribers?!
I’ve always encouraged people to get college/university degree because the classes challenge one to grow out of their comfort zone and realize they have more hidden talents than they realize. So congratulations on your decision to pursue a degree in art. You will be successful!
And as another already commented, it will be fun to watch someone else do homework. 😊
imagine trying to confine someone like peter into ..... art school. thats a series id love to watch.
Very nice 👌. Like butter on a fresh blueberry muffin.
Live on Peter as long as you create your incredible drawings and be yourself I will always watch your fantastic content love you Peter
Looking forward to seeing videos of your homework and wishing you every success
I took years and years of art classes - drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, etc. a college drawing class will have you working from life and the second year of it will start to bring different media and introduce color to your drawings. By the third year they’ll expect you to have developed a style and mastered working from life. You’ll start to work on expression and work yourself away from just the formalism of what you were taught and use it to communicate who you are and what you see.
Dear Peter, just wanted to say thank you, a lot, for everything that you’ve done, really inspiring!
OMG I'm so excited to see art school stuff merge with your work! Congratulations! 🥳
In the course of 10 years I’d started school, finished, started a career, the flipped and began a different pursuit. Now at 32 I get paid to fly planes. Point is, flip all the flops, do what’ll make you happiest, and don’t ever settle.. especially based on perceived time or age constraints or expectations; it sincerely does not matter.
Cheers to the beginning of the museum trajectory.
Planes are very cool
Been away from your channel for a while, it was so lovely to come back and hear you talk about what's going on in your life now. Hope you find a stream of study that fits your unique abilities.
Good luck Peter!!! I'm planning to go to art school this year as well, I have put It off for so much, I'm turning 26 this year.
I was older than that when I went! And I wasn't even the oldest in my class. Art school is for everyone.
Love the choice of ART school. I think you will flourish and I can not wait to see the things you learn creep into your style. I always say "What's the hurry..." I mean there is nothing wrong with being a lifetime learner and when you study what you LOVE why rush it? I wish everyone had the chance to just follow their passions and then find ways to make a living doing what you love to do. That ought to be a part of Highschool. a curriculum that helps you find your passion and then offers you, classes, to strengthen that passion and help you find avenues to make a living doing what you love. Look forward to this year of videos from you Peter!
Peter is so fascinating to me, that even seeying him eating a chocolate egg didn’t bore me
I find it interesting how a lot of artists struggle to go to school for art, I started out working towards a biology type degree then switched to general studies and studio art. I had to take a few years off and decided to change to graphic design which has actually been really fun and beneficial. My semester starts in less than a week and they haven't decided what they are doing in terms of face to face or online. I'm excited for all the cool things I get to learn this semester and to see what art you create from your art school journey. It's very hard to make friends during the pandemic and I feel like many people have just given up/settled on only have acquaintances in classes, but I wish you the best of luck finding some cool artist friends!
Congratulations! I hope all goes well for you in your new direction. Also, the opal you held up close to the camera is an Australian opal called keroit opal.
Ooh, thanks for the info!
I double checked and yes ‘kinder egg surprise’ are still illegal TO BE SOLD in the US… but I think it’s ok that you were sent one 😉
I love your videos, you have been a constant inspiration to me over the years and I recently started art school. I even teach on of your ideas in my classes, the post-it note idea … I love that so much and always use that post it method when I’m struggling with art block 🤩
Thank you for your content
Peter Im glad to hear about your journey into art school!!!! I have been watching your youtube videos for over a decade and am now (hopefully!) headed to art school myself. You really are an inspiration to a lot of people, including myself! I wish us both a productive semester, and I cant wait to see what you create next!!!
Something about your account is just so endearing, I’m always excited for a new video so I can’t wait to see where the year takes you
You are such a calming person to listen to
I'm so happy for you in this decision, I think it makes a lot more sense for you. Art school is exactly the right place to learn how to make money doing art outside of UA-cam, and I recommend suffering through at least one business class, if you haven't done already. Maybe your school has a class on marketing yourself worked into the curriculum, that's ideal. Anyway, so excited for you!
I recently decided to apply to watchmaking school. I've been on disability and out of school or work since 2015, I'm very intimidated to be around people again, but also very excited about the learning.
Take care, Peter!
Peter! I am just a couple years older than you but everyone changes their minds about what they want to do. I am a two-time college drop out and honestly, I couldn't be happier. I am glad you are still pursuing a degree but it just wasn't my thing. I had the most fun taking as many different art classes at a CC just to learn as many mediums as possible. Then I got to the point where I was using class time as studio time. The head of the art program (who I am still great friends with) recommended that I drop out because he could see that being in class was slowing me down. I am still an artist and I still make art but I do it for me, not for money. I have a fine Monday - Friday that pays the bills but I am hoping my UA-cam channel can grow. Keep up the awesome work and enjoy all of that sweet German candy!
No use barking up the wrong tree. I did that with a second degree too. I got up to the clinical part where I’d have to work for free, and I just dipped one day.
No regrets and I learned things. Good luck with your new venture!
Good luck with your art classes, Peter! I'm excited for you!
Nothing wrong with changing goals Peter! That's what life is about in my opinion, exploration, learning, mistakes, and enjoying things whether they go right or not (sometimes things not going right leads to a new thing you didn't know you liked!)
Wow Peter...it blows me away you've never been to art school/higher ed classes. As always you are outstanding and such an inspiration. Good luck! You're gonna kill it, its super fun.
"What do I like doing"
I still can't answer that question at 30. I don't regret not pursuing art when I was younger and spent all of my time drawing, but I don't know why I stopped drawing to begin with.
I'm happy for you, Peter! I can't wait to see what you learn :)
I hope you don't get disappointed... I feel like my university didn't teach me what I imagined it would... Having the experience and practice is great but I feel like what you learn in books and youtube is equally if not better. Wish you all the best
That keychain was awesome. The PD stands for Peter Draws or Peter Deligdisch. 😃👍
Congrats on making the change. Life is too short! I did architecture school for a bit too and have no regrets about leaving when I did.
Congrats, Peter! Good luck!
Hey peter I wish ya huge success on the Art School Journey. I myself have been thinking on switching from community college to give Art school a chance as well. I sure hope this brand new adventure leads ya to success. My Schooling is going well Peter bout to take one more semester this spring and going to tackle learning oil painting. Which I'm excited about to learn a new medium outside of ink and pencil. :)
Always cheering for ya Peter! 👏
That beaver biting the log kinder toy looks good actually. You could just have that as a shelf decoration
This sounds like a good switch for you. Best of luck! 💙
I quit studying architecture for some reason, but I would say that universities are best for two things their libraries and assignments. I learned from these two a lot. I wish we all could access to a space where there is a huge library with books and articles and magazines, meanwhile having some guidelines and assignments for the projects that we are doing, then there won’t be any need for a university.
I’m excited for you starting art school! It sounds like you’re doing something you genuinely want vs. what you “should.” Good luck!
Props for choosing your art Peter. Thats really brave.
Peter! Its so fun seeing you open your gifts!
Art school -- Computer Animation as it was called then -- was the best time ever of my life. You're right. Being around like minded people who are also artists adds to your joy and inspiration of/for art especially when some of those individuals have worked in the industry and... Now I'm starting to sound like the marketing department for art school. The point is you love art. Other people love art. Together with them your love of art ascends to a new level and it helps you feel more comfortable in your own skin... and you feel it more.
Congrats on this decision. I'm looking forward to see your journey through your videos.
You’re going to kill it in art school, we all know it. It’ll be awesome to see what you make and how you expand your style
Hey Peter, just wanted to say your work helped me. Your beautiful man and I appreciate you!
Peter!!! Thank you for keeping it real with us. Being an regular person for your audience really makes it feel like we're listening to a good friend. Love your content bro!
I am in the 3rd year of Textile Conservation studies that i started in my thirties. One can always go back to school to pursue one’s passions! :)
Yoo you should try Dutch treats too! :o
About schooling, I decided i'd go back to school too after a long while. I am 25 currently, and in a class full of 17 year olds. But i'm here to build a future for myself so I'm excited. Although I'm in graphic design now, I'd love to have my own art/design studio one day. Dream big they say right?
Stroopwafels!
Good luck! I love seeing your journey 🤍🤍🤍
That pen is awesome looking. Totally could rock it as a pendant and always have a pen on you.
”I like this right here. Suppenfleisch.”
Soup meat, thehehehe. :)
A few times ive walked at night, and i see beavers swimming in the big ponds, even when its 40 degrees out. They somehow dont mind the cold. Also they smack their tails and it sounds like someone dropped a huge rock in the water. Kurplunk!
One time i saw one of the things beavers built out of wood, and my reaction was "Dammn!", then instantly realized how accurate my reaction is.
Such a vibe!! ❤️
Go for it champ! Wish you a happy life 👍
Peter I am so excited for you! and excited to see all the new things you explore. Been watching your channel for so long and its always exciting to see the changes in your work :)
Super glad you're taking art classes. I can't wait to see!
Good luck Peter, I was excited for you to go back to school a couple years ago but this is even more exciting
Hard to imagine you got this good without formal training. No doubt you’re going to rock everything you get into. Can’t wait too see how this will influence what you do in the future.
For real! I imagine the other student will be blown away with the skills and experience he's coming in with
Good luck Peter, looking forward to seeing what you get up to with the new programme
I can't lie the minute I see art school and German my mind goes straight to one thing in particular😳
Here's to you, sir! Awesome work!!
I'm super excited for you. 🌞
Congraaaats. Sounds like a great fit
Love you Peter. You fill my body with warmth :)
Very interesting Peter! Looking forward to seeing your homework!
Good luck on this journey of yours. Hopefully things work out to a point, where you feel satisfied with the outcome.
Good for you, Peter!
Good for you Peter!!! Follow your heart; you know best what is right for you 💙
