- Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) gives Richard (James Pickens Jr.) her power of attorney because he's the only one she trusts to make the hard choice if it comes to it. Killing Derek off the show 5 years ago was the biggest mistake ever made on Grey’s Anatomy! I still haven’t gotten over it and the fact that Derek and Meredith didn’t have a happy ending. Bringing him back now was such a beautiful surprise, yet sad because we all know that it’s just a dream and he will be gone again. Conclusion: We’re gonna cry over Derek’s death again!

Everyone guessed it, Meredith has the rona.
Richard is the only REAL PARENT she’s ever had. Ellis was cold and always too hypercritical to give any real guidance, and Thatcher didn’t fight for her, instead he went and made a whole other family. He has loved her like a father should, sacrificed for her, stood by her, helped her, and guided her. I wish she would’ve asked him to legally adopt her as an adult and made it official before this season, that way Zola, Bailey, and Ellis would have a grandparent.

In all ways save biological, Richard is Meredith's father. It makes perfect sense that she'd pick him. I love their relationship.

Everything has come full circle. Meredith making Richard her POA after everything that went down with her mother in the past. Richard has always had Meredith's best interest at heart. Richard is her father. He doesn't have to be blood to be family. I love Richard and Meredith's relationship. He is her surrogate father. I have missed hearing Patrick Dempsey's voice on the show. I love how Derek says to Meredith the sand isn't real. There is no distance between them. I was laughing so hard at the Meredith face plant. LOL. This was an amazing episode.
The Merder scene proves that they made a huge mistake by killing him off, what a waste, i would've loved more if Meredith got Alzheimer and Derek would've been there to make her remember and then eventually dies... By Just killing everyone off they ruined everything, i only accept George's death cause It was at least a little believable
But when he was on it wasn’t her show... he was getting paid way more than her and it was named greys anatomy after her character. I’d have liked him to stay but it helped ellen get what she deserved when he left
@@kieramcgregor Yeah, i understand it but It wasn't all Patrick's fault for that (even if he could've show some support to her) i'm glad that She was able to stand up for herself but in terms of storyline it would've been Better if he stayed, After all they've been through i though It was really disappointing how they choose to end their story but beside that i was referring to all the old cast members who got killed off badly, Meredith Is Indeed the protagonist but those characters make the show more complete and relatable in my opinion
It was Meredith's decision to bring him back and everyone got on board. She knows what they have.

i think it was a mistake to kill lexie off and then when they realized that they tried to replace lexie with maggie. I love maggie but lexie and mer's relationship was something that you can't replace

This will be the first season of greys in seventeen years that I’m not watching live. I have worked with covid patients throughout this pandemic and I need some form of a respite from these long months. I know exactly what they are trying to do, and I understand the importance of emphasizing the severity of COVID and the toll it has taken on our healthcare providers. But I need a mental break. Perhaps this will all be a bad memory next year and I can watch it when it goes to Netflix without feeling like my chest is about to cave in from anxiety and sadness.

Richard is the REAL PARENT of Meredith. And definitely, one of Meredith's GUARDIANS alongside Mandy (Miranda Bailey). Thatcher and Ellis, despite being Meredith's biological parents, never ever matched Richard's and Mandy's levels.
I still remember when Meredith didn't write anything in her very first exam paper when she was an intern. George (O'Malley) noticed it and informed Richard personally.
Richard gave Meredith the chance to retake the exam. Even though she said "You're not my father", she cried in his papa bear hug, as he said to her in his softest voice, "I know."
Meredith attended the exam and passed happily.

It’s bizarre really looking at this. I ended up in a coma with respiratory failure in December 2019 and for a whole month I dreamed like this. Not all of the dreams were as pleasant as this though and I suffered PTSD from the terrifying nightmares I had. When I came round, I couldn’t work out for a few weeks what was reality and what was fiction. It’s honestly life changing surviving a critical illness and it messed with my mental health for a long time after. No way at 37 did I think I’d be at death’s door! Stay safe everyone x

Meredith was strong throughout the whole show she always made the tough calls even when she knew everyone would look at her differently even with the love of her life she did what she had to do which was to let go and give someone else the chance to survive even when her husband was dead
This episode was really good and touching, as doctor living this pandemic and already survive covid, i feel really connected to this episodes , storylines and this ending, Grey's anatomy Is really showing beyond the TV show storyline the reality of what us doctors live and living during this pandemic, now i have more respect for Grey's anatomy, .
