- A father tearfully speaks to his son before sending him in to a risky heart surgery. Link (Chris Carmack) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) talk about a wedding and are interrupted when the kids come home. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) wakes up and speaks to Richard (James Pickens Jr.). Saying I'm sorry as her first words is such a Meredith reaction I loved this
I love this paralel to season 10 when Meredith was in charge of making Richard's medical decisions and he was glad he chose her!
Well, actually that issue was a little ambiguous - when he opened his eyes, the narrator's voice/he said, he hadn't been wrong about "this".. But then when he first spoke to her again, he said, he made the wrong decision... But yeah, it's still a nice parallel, revisiting their unique connection!🌟❤️

Thatcher was Meredith’s biological father, but Richard was/is/always will be her dad.

Link and Amelia relationship is so mature and healthy. It’s so refreshing in this show to have a couple who actually « talk » and have no communication issues like all the rest of them 😍

The closest thing she has to a father
Richard has been more of a father figure to Meredith than Thacher ever was. I consider Richard as Meredith’s dad as he’s been looking after her since she was a child. Time, not DNA, is what makes a great parent. Richard is the REAL dad.
They missed out on having Richard going up to Jo and saying "Meredtih told me you are thinking of changing specialties". The joy on Jo's face would have be something to see.

Is it just me or did that episode finally have that old fabulous true GA's magic back again?! It's just that feeling.. of pure reality, a mix between good and bad but still carried by a strong beautiful hope! And so much love!!!
And somehow, although she wasn't even mentioned, I felt the presence of Cristina very often!
Seeing mer fight like this gives me sooo many emotions.. happy that shes awake, upset that shes suffering rn, etc etc

I love the fact that she wakes up after weeks of being out and uses the time to tattle on Wilson
I’m glad they are bringing back the peds storylines! I loved the peds episodes with Arizona and Alex.
This is the happiest I have been in a while see mer wake up was such a relief

Look, as someone who's almost died, you need a lot of sleep to recover from it.
She's just finally sleeping to recover now, instead of sleeping to stay alive.
But, like, if they stick true to life (which I'm not necessarily expecting, but this season has been very graphically real in ways I didn't expect so maybe), she'll basically be doing nothing but sleep and go to rehab for the next month. Your body eats all your muscles to salvage for spare parts when you're that sick, being on the vent is worse because you *can't* move not even to toss in your sleep so even more muscles go from disuse.
Took me a week before I could even sit in a chair for more than five minutes without needing a nap after.
I get how it's not exactly the most compelling television, so I don't blame anyone that's frustrated by it. But it *is* real.
(I really appreciated the effort they made to make her voice sound as terrible as it should after all that.)

I’ve ruined this show for myself ever since working in a hospital 😂. We don’t wear PAPRs unless we’re actually in a covid+ room. It’s an infection control issue to constantly wear them. Wearing a mask and a face shield is perfectly fine with negative patients. I know this show isn’t medically accurate anyway but it’s kind of showing people that surgeons are the ones consistently caring for our positive patients when it’s really nurses and cnas that are doing the most donning and doffing
I always laugh when I see the surgeons hanging out in the patients' rooms. My daughter has had quite a few surgeries, and with each one I believe the surgeon spent a grand total of five minutes with us, that's the before and after. Nurses are the real lifesavers.

I'm watching Grey's right now. And I just really wanted to say that I love the show, but I hate how politicized its gotten. Its basically just leftist propaganda at this point. Are there some people out there like this? Sure. But they're making their viewers think that the majority of the right is the way they portray them to be. And the problems they highlight, of course they portray them to be a million times worse than they are. I dont even think I can finish this episode. Its making me sick. I cant believe I've held on this long honestly. Its such a great show, when they leave the leftist political talking points out of it. A black man, a doctor, is about to get pulled over. Gee, I wonder whats going to happen. I guarantee, in real life he'd be fine as long as he keeps his cool, unless he happens to come across a super racist cop, which is much MUCH less likely than they want you to believe. I'm just venting. And I know I'm probably gna get a bunch of ppl who disagree with me, and i don't really care. Don't even bother to comment. Im not looking to get into an argument, just venting. Just ignore me.
I quit watching after Christina left, and TBH seasons nine and ten were PAINFUL to get through. I couldn't do it anymore. Every show now feels like a lecture to us little people watching at home. It's annoying and condescending.

I like Hayes. He knows loss like Mer does. Deluca was sweet, and good hearted, but too young and naive for her.
deluca was jealous of derek all the time and couldn’t stand being her subordinate. he couldn’t understand that derek was and will forever be the love of her life. hayes and mer are on an even playing field. they’re peers and have both lost the loves of their lives, hayes is perfectly equal to meredith.
