    I added some more for you:
    - The Gestapo guy with glasses and a black leather coat that always takes off his gloves when he enters any building
    - The German teenage soldier that holds a main character at gunpoint till he's bribed with cigarettes and chocolate bars
    - The free French soldier that always shouts French profanities because the actor doesn't actually know French
    - The Italian/French lady that falls in love with a main character, but the character dies and she starts crying when 2 guys in uniform look at her sadly
    - The Hitler cameo. Always seems to have a high pitched, nasaly voice, despite actually having a deep voice in real life. Throws tantrums a lot.
    - The SS officer that always has some kind of disability/scar
    - The luftwaffe general that is always fat for some reason

      To be fair, Göring kinda set the standard.
      Also, why not combine the facial scar guy and the glove guy? Makes the cast smaller, and gives the audience a main focal point for their hatred.

      I still would like to know when the leather longcoat entered the modern lore. What the typical GESTAPO guy was wearing was a Klepper-Mantel, rubber coated and waterproif cotton. Quite lightweight (under 1kg), cheap and rugged.

    The officer that is close to his men, he dies
    The senior officer who is an enemy of all and everyone and a Nazi, he survives
    The young fierceful, the fearful and the farmer boy soldier - they all die but the fierceful one shoots once at the senior officer and misses him before dieing

    1. The American tagalong, usually someone who "gets things done" and doesn't care about ranks or formalities. Can also be played as a Canadian or Australian.
    2. The gruff soldier with a working-class background who does the dirty jobs but is changed when something is too bad even for him.
    3. The sadistic evil SS officer and his foil, the honorable Wehrmacht officer who studied in Oxford before the war.
    4. The eccentric local civilian who nearly gets everyone killed.
    5. The German generals from Smith and Jones.

    The last part, even while they made it funny...it sure hit home. All those men who served and died for a cause that may not have been the greatest, but it was protect this country at all costs. I remember hearing stories of veterans from WWII returning to last places they were during 1940-1945...their reactions and memories are something that make me emotional.

    I am sorry but you've had forgotten few key elements of German side of things:
    - SS officer who is a complete nozy
    - Wermacht officer who is Worthy Opponent
    - Wermacht NCO who is either tired of all this war and gladly surrenders or will fight to the bitter end due to being inspired by Wermacht officer
    I think I have spotted elements from Saving Private Ryan, Guns of Navarone, Where Eagles Dare, The Big Red One, Force 10 From Navarone, Operation Crossbow....

    Man this is one super accurate video. 🤣🤣 Also everytime an allied soldier sees enemy tank it must be a Tiger (or repainted, poor looking mock up in the movie). Because heaven forbit if the enemy has some other type of vehicle...And there is always that one soldier who is undisciplined, been punished dosens of times, does not follow orders, his own commanding officer wants him gone or court marshaled, but in the movie he is the hero with super ability, who can shoot the enemy by just pointing at him, has god mode, nobody even dares to shoot him down. Oh yeah and they always have more ammo than the enemy, often not changing the clip the entire movie....yeeeees.😆

    • @kmoecub
      @kmoecub 2 роки тому +1

      The bit about every tank being a Tiger is pretty accurate. The fog of war, and poor identification training combined to make that a common event IRL.

    • @Neion8
      @Neion8 2 роки тому

      @@kmoecub True, but there's a difference soldier misdentifying a tank in the heat of the moment, and the film actually saying that it was the case.

      Have to disagree. It;s a perfect film, tightly edited and just when you think you get a breather it yanks you back in. Could it be longer? Sure About September 1939-1945? It's a commercial film, not The World at War.

    What I actually like in any warmovie, not even that much of a cliché, is that at the start there's also this team member who is not very likeable because he's of Italian descent (American movie) or Scottish.
    But at the end of the movie/series, he's one of the few that actually survives.
    And the protagonist has seen so many comrades die, he's just grateful that one at least is still alive.
