Every Sniper in WW2

- Recently we've watched a few Sniper scenes from such greats as Saving Private Ryan, and we realised this video had to be made. Sadly, a German ZF scope alone is almost a year's budget for us! So we figured out a way around that... Download Opera GX for free using our link: operagx.gg/Squ....
A lot of you have been asking where we get our equipment from; we've been using Colchester Militaria recently for all of our lovely, original WW2 guns - if you choose to check them out, let them know we sent you! They're on UA-cam @colchestermilitaria1667 and their site is colchestermili...
Only on THIS channel, would you see a real 1945 Kar98k, with a scope made of low qaulity cardboard taped to the top of it. Anyway, thanks to our Sponsor Opera GX! Download it for free using our link - operagx.gg/Squire2
Ah, it's always good to see the classic cardboard.
Well done sir, as always! Seriously, I'm totally convinced every single video you've ever done is a banger.
It's the standered issue german sniper scope in 1945
Hello
Your keen attention to details keeps bringing me back. 🍻👍
Your using a real Kr98K but not a real kr98k scope
0:24 "I can't drink, I'm the designated marksman" is the kind of joke that should be followed by a laugh track. it's perfect xD
IMHO a following laugh track is the hallmark of a lame joke. It lacks finesse. That joke is perfect without one.
@@maxlutz3674 I tend to agree, it just seems like one *would* go there if it was the kind of comedy that used them. It definitely doesn't need one to be funny.
Laugh tracks are for simpletons. The joke is either funny or not it stands on its own, one shouldn't need to be prodded and "told$ when to laugh.
It's a pun, the most dry type of joke... A laugh track is always used in the most unfunny, dry jokes, so it adds a satire layer to the joke, making it more funny If you understand.

The detail of the Me-262 used as bomber. Unlike the German snipers in the movies, you guys never miss.
Didn't get that joke, could you explain please?
@@orinik9332 Sure, it will be a pleasure. The Messerschmitt Me-262 was developed as super weapon to counter the allied strategic bombing campaign, it was heavily armed with four 30mm cannons and planned as an interceptor fighter. If the Luftwaffe had enough units, B-17 and B-24 losses would become unsustainably high, making daylight bombings impracticable. But not only the Germans were already having trouble fielding enough units due to material shortages, damage to industrial complexes, and reduction of available pilots, upon being presented to A. Hitler, he made a famous question: "Does it can carry bombs?" That resulting in the most advanced German fighter being used on a kind of mission it was not designed for (tactical bombing), further reducing its availability for the missions it was actually intended for. Among aviation's history enthusiasts this went down as a joke, because it is considered one, if not the biggest, of Hitler's blunders regarding German aviation. That's why Squire brought it here. I hope you enjoyed my answer.
@@octaviovaladaoferreirinhad2689 Sorry to be "THAT GUY" but the Me-262 had 4 30mm cannons :)
@@octaviovaladaoferreirinhad2689 Except it wasn't Hitler delaying the ME 262 by insisting on bombs, but a general specification demand placed on EVERY German fighter series before 1944. Both TIKhistory and Military Aviation History has debunked the Hitler story as a mere postwar myth.
@@AverageJoe.308 thanks, the only problem now is that more of *THOSE GUYS* will soon come for the sheer pleasure of feeling superior by debunking me. So much effort wasted...
As a totally real history expert on ww2 I can confirm literally every single marksman had a ridiculously bright flashlight instead of a scope mounted to their gun this was of course done for the sake of balancing so that regular soldiers could see them from afar.
You experts are coming out of nowhere suddenly, telling us what to think. Memers got ridiculous.
I see. So _that_ is the reason why grunts usually get flashlights that run out of power every ten steps or so - the snipers get all the ones that actually work!
When the Midnight Sniper... shines a light on you...
When the Midnight Sniper... ask you for some spare batteries..
When the Midnight Sniper.. curses "Das wackelcontact" and throws a tantrum..
When the Midnight Sniper.. walks off asking for their money back .. this is not what he ordered.. was written in contract.. told at enlistement..
hands over the gun and requests his bike..
and drives off into the night .. never to be scene again..
Fun fact: Reflection of the sunlight into a scope could reveal a sniper, and that's why the famous sniper Simo "White Death" Häyhä ditched his scope and relied only on his iron sights to snipe.
That said, movies exagerate it as the sunlight isn't going to magically align against every scope in the city and reflect straight into normal infantry. It's easier to spot the sniper's "light" with a NCO's/Officer binocular or with your own sniper rifle, specially if you're on a situation like Stalingrad where you don't even have time to be looking around before getting a grenade on your face.
@@mafia_boss_neto Fun fact: although you are of course correct with what you wrote about revealing reflections, this was not the reason why he did not use scopes or at least the least important reason for not using scopes, according to Häyhä's own statements.
The more important/main reasons why he was not using scopes were that he wanted to provide a smaller target, since a sniper has to raise his head higher when using a scope, and that he wanted to prevent sight problems, since scopes have a tendency to get steamed over under conditions occuring in the finnish winter.
"We love burning things. Books, Rotterdam..". As a Dutch person, I'd like to applaud this reference. And thank the German Luftwaffe for all the modern architecture in Rotterdam. It's a popular attraction and yes, we do hold an 83 year old grudge.
Did you ever get your bicycles back?
Graag gedaan! Rotterdam is nou echt één unieke plek!

Your German accent has gotten WAY better.
Really? I shat this one out and did all my lines in about 30 minutes, because of the rain.

Reminds me of the scope glare in the Battlefield 1 Ottoman campaign. How did it glare in the middle of the night?!
By the light of the moon! Next question!
Even if it faces away from the moon too also what kinda low quality graphics on the (in 1945) standard issue scope has high enough quality to use glint
They're just silly like that.
Its simple. They werent using their shade tube so it was catching the ambient sunlight from the night air
It’s funny, that quote about the Americans reminds me of a saying that was born from WW1 - when German artillery fires the allies duck, when British artillery fires the Germans duck, when American artillery fires everyone ducks. Nice video as always, and watch out for the show off who shoots through peoples scopes, there’s always one.
Obviously no truth in that at all nowadays. Yeehaaa!
as the Soviets once said, "A serious problem in planning against American doctrine is that the Americans do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligation to follow their doctrine."

I honestly thought it may have been about the infamous A-10 blue-on-blue incident during the second Gulf War when a n A-10 straffed a British column.
@@Pratt_ That incident is probably the most notorious, but the US forces' reputation for being trigger happy (if justified or not, is another story) comes from a long way, and Squire frequently makes references to it.

No, it's two separate references.
USMC Scout Sniper Carlos Hathcock actually did kill an enemy sniper by shooting him through the scope. That's what inspired the scenes from 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'Enemy at the Gates'.

This reminds me of „The Sniper“, a short story set in the Irish Civil War. Also involves two enemy snipers running into each other.
I just love this channel and videos. You guys need to be in the movies. Just incredible
The most realistic video about snipers. Especially the helmet tactic .
Production quality is getting better with every video. Awesome as always ❤
But for all that scope glare, you guys might have never even seen each-other up there. Pretty accurate, I’d say. Thought this was a documentary at first! Thanks for this, boys.
Considering there’s hardly any Sun in England I’m genuinely surprised.😅
I’m really enjoying all the obvious vantage points in the background
This also applies to Japanese snipers in south east asia. British and American troops would find Japanese snipers straping themselves on to palm trees. Its basically a suicidal action by doing that. One of the reasons why the Japanese army have little veteran soilders in the late phases on the war. The commanders just throwing experienced soilders away to exchange for a few kills.

When one laughs, air comes out from the lungs and is modulated by one’s vocal cords. On Earth, air is largely composed of nitrogen and oxygen and these two elements can be combined. This is funny because that combination is sometimes called laughing gas.
@@b.w.22 When one inspires too much laughing gas, an acute hypoxaemia and suffocation can be the consequence. This is colloquially called 'dying from laughter'.
@@Furzkampfbomber - “lol’d to sleep,” as it were

'Hard' in this context actually does not mean that I was 'hard' or 'rigid', as in 'epileptic seizure that comes with an overly raised muscle tone', which would not be funny, but 'quite loud and extensively''.

Sniper, the only kind of soldier that never was taken a prisoner in any conflict.
,and Flamethrower soldiers.
Lol what, of course they would be taken prisoner what are you talking about
@@inisipisTV it's also more of a myth than anything, I guess they would be more likely to be victim of this kind of summary execution, but giving that they were use on the offensive, so less likely to be taken prisoner in the first place and usually they would have a protection detachment, to cover them in the first place, they were used to clear our fortified position and for them to come close enough it means that most of the enemy are already unable to shoot.
So it would actually be extremely unlikely for a flamethrower soldier to end up in a situation where they would be captured.

Most entertaining commercials on U-Tube. As well the funniest videos.
The long range shot echoes off of more objects as it breaks the sound barrier for at least 1200 yds depending on the caliber. Close range combat bullet flight will only break the sound barrier until it’s stopped by target or close obstructions. This is why sniper rifles are known for a different echo. If they shoot a close target, it just sounds like the rest of the guns going off.
