Love the way Katie talks the talk and knows about the equipment she installed. Knowing the amount of effort it takes to build out a van to this level makes this beautiful, intelligent young lady a huge inspiration!! Very impressive. Well done, Katie!!
Love your build. Very similar set up to ours! In particular the “clothes on coat hangers” between front seats and partition wall and door. Stores so much. Also love your idea of the sucker hooks for hanging on outside!
Hey! Some friendly advice: If you look up “Murphy doors” And care to utilize more space, the two sliding doors on either side of the van and care to make a pass through from the interior to exterior, take four sided kitchen cabinetry on a slide out that can slide both inside and outside plus a putting in on a lazy Suzan for better access to all four sides, and then create a pull-down tile of window shade for the door when cabinetry isn’t in use, then for even more space - you can create slits inside of the upper portion of the cabinetry in for a pull out swivel table/dinette/desk If you are willing to retool or reimagine the doors in the back of the van you could create a four door system like that of a box type package that you can hollow out to create storage space like a bookshelf or apply basic kitchen cabinetry or even revert to the four sided kitchen cabinetry concept, at least the two on did by side doors, the top door you can also hollow out to create storage space for a drop down tent or even a drop down shower if you care to utilize an out door shower system. The bottom door can act as a deck. You could also look into fold out wall mounted picnic tables. If you are so inclined to create more space, I’d look into wall mounted flip down bunk beds - if you care to create wall niches for storage, and put them on two side outs: 1. First slide out - pull fourth from wall niche. 2. A second slide that will allow you to push them out outside of the vehicle so you can sleep out doors. For additional storage space I’d look at smart beds from Jubilee furniture. I’d look into putting a two sided movie projector pull down screen in the very back of the van so that if you do decide on the bed slide outs - you can watch movies if faced towards the van. To utilize even more space, I’d look at the Murphy desk concept or a wall mounted Murphy desk and with the option to create an entertainment center - or tv placed just above the desk, I would add these to the underside of the beds to create a “Murphy Bed” I’d also look into window shades that double as screen projectors. If you’ll look up CMC Motorhomes and add at least two slide outs - one on both sides that run the duration of the van, plus add one in the back. That would buy you even more space. If you look up Draper Land Ark and create an exterior pull down balcony with foldable telescopic legs underneath, look up floor pits, exterior of cockpit, you can add additional slide out or pull out tables with swing away bar stools for any one who wants to hang out while either the passenger side or drivers side is occupied. If you look up hymer - there is a roof tent that has a lighted body, If you are interested in floor pits, I’d look at smart sectionals from jubilee furniture, Sobro coffee tables and Sobro side tables, Backs of chairs and sofas can be converted into desk space so can steps I’d look at “game changer toy hauler” for furniture storage and to carry out these mechanics further - once the furniture is hoisted onto the walls for storage you can look into actually storing them within the edges of the floor. I’d also look into the swinging mechanics of “Dekpod” to further expand the space Hope these help :)
Good information and some of it is too much ro add. I don't think she was asking for suggestions. Besides, she did a great job and had a lot of great ideas. Different people have different needs
IM in love with this build, I want this exact build for myself with only two changes. I NEED a wet bath so i will use a single or twin size bed to get that space and more storage for all my clothes, shoes, camera equipment and other stuff.
Your home is amazing and I saved your video so that when the time comes for me to get a Van Conversion company to build my Van I'll have a list of all the very since able things you've done in your van build. I don't have as much confidence as you😊. it's an amazing build, safe travels❤
Sprinter vans, break down after 2 yrs. Most people put too much wood (which is heavy) into their Sprinters. I chose to use Chevy vans. The only wood pieces I used was my platform bed on my wood beframe. Everything else was lightweight.
Very good video. You were able to convey a lot of information without a backstory. I am very impressed with your expertise. You did an awesome job on the build! Safe and adventurous travels.
🎉 loved every bit of it❤ Katie if you ever feel like hanging out along the Bitterroot wilderness south of Missoula I'm building out a sprinter and I would put you to work in a New York Minute😂❤ when you weren't playing in the woods❤ the insulation is almost done I have a rivet nuts in strategic places and it's almost time for the struts and the walls😮 you made me smile when you talked about doing it in the winter the only reason the van's not finished is because of the humidity levels😢❤
Love your build! Great layout, with thoughtful features. I've got a nebula too. If you grab a go-pro sticky mount and attach it under your overheads, you can mount your projector there and pack it away easily whenever you want. It'll save you needing to be careful with a tripod! Anyway, superb work with the build
Smart build I worked at a van shop and we always thought of things to do after the fact! I've lived in my plane which I would not have anyone try it was always a problem, I had a teacup Yorkie with me and he helped make friends with some hardcore personal at airport, most times had No car and few times my little friend needed Dr it's hard on the road and having all shots so now I have 2 Yorkies and I bought a hanger made small place but I'd like to get back into vaning around and still have a base to come back to,I'm sure there are resources for Vets and parts so it probably be bit simpler! But nice build looks as you thought it all out
Nice job on van and excellent narrating. Suggestion: watch some vids on folding clothes to get more space and organization..they are great.. good luck!!!
Yes I am 80% done and it looks the same as it did 6 months ago but that’s because I have been doing all the behind the scenes stuff. Every single inch is planned out and ready to go. It just has to be installed now.
Hey!! very beautiful!!! One question, how long is the camperizar?? I have been told that they give less length than the fiat ducato, can you tell me?? Thanks
Most of us do it by starting in a shitkicker van and work up. (Or if you're American, just take out a massive loan 😅) my first van cost £4000 all in. Lived in it for 4 years, saved an insane amount of money, my last van was nearly 25k.
That reply kind of answered your question. “Privilege”. I think it’s crazy when well off people chose to live or buy something like a poor person might HAVE to, and consider themselves in the same struggle. Appropriation basically. She said her 1st full-time job was AFTER she got out of college. What does that tell you? Everyone has there hard times in life, rich or poor. But I wanted to address the comment in general.
@@aarteestmj4958 I don't thi k Nyone who has the choice to love in a van considers themselves in the same struggle as people who have to... They just like living in a van. I love it and will never live in a house again - I'm a musician so it makes more sense for me to move around a lot. We all have our reasons.
@@TomBedlammusic I’m a fine artist and designer. Don’t get me wrong, I look at these videos because I love them, and respect the real work that goes into them. I’m just finding some that are a little too good to be true( it this one), and am wondering if making “minimalizing” mainstream isn’t part of a bigger more sinister plan. “Eat bugs and be happy” kind of thing. Anyway, thank you for your comment, and I hope you have nothing but a safe and inspirational journey ahead!
I stand by this - induction in a van is insane. I get the idea behind it, but no matter how big your battery and solar, you will drain it when you get a few days of bad weather. Look at aemon and bec - 600ah lithium battery bank and they were complaining that they were still running out of power... In Mexico
No way you can sell this unless it’s real cheap? Anyways…get a Milwaukee Adapter for battery on stain so you can always have your vac always powered as you can have more cells. Also how is toxic elements that are VOC inside. Toxic on lungs eventually? The materials you have seem way synthetic. Always been a concern and was wondering. Be safe.
Not to be a downer, but how can you afford something like this? No mention of a job, inheritance or lottery win, but you've got close to $50,000 total on this van. How do you pay for it, especially on top of student debt. How do you pay insurance, health care, groceries, etc.?? I'm just completely mystified as to how this is financially sustainable?
They lived in the previous van, didn't pay rent/mortgage, saved all that money while working full time, then SOLD that van, and could afford to buy this one. If you work remotely, you are still employed while doing this, hence paying for gas, insurance, etc.
Not more beautiful than a young person knowing the ends and outs of something they’re built themselves. Keep being amazing 🤩

Go Sister! I love how she's really knows her stuff, precisely how and why she chose options, plus the technical details. So impressive.
$50k and already better quality than a lot of the vans costing three times that or more. I have mad respect for her skills and determination!
I’m completely in awe of your knowledge ! Your build is amazing!
Looks great! I love that you shared the changes you made for your 2nd build to have a more efficient van.
You did an amazing job with your build. Really creative and good use of space. Absolutely lovely. Thanks for sharing
What a great job you did on your van as well as in the video. It was a joy to watch & listen!
That shade idea for the overhead projector is genius 😁 might steal that idea 😂
It would save on space

Nice to hear what we all know but from someone with actual experience of both.. that the merc is always the van of choice.
Fantastic build!!! Thank you for sharing❤
I missed the shower. I need watch again from what I seen it's a nice build

What is that hanging de-humidifier gadget that you plug in to get rid of the water??? I need that.

Love this build! Thanks!
Such a great and sensible build. She was super easy to listen to. Most are not
Very nicely built.
Luv your design and attention to details. Kudos and Contrgz 😘👍🏾🤛🏾👏🏾
Can you put a link to the black device you attached to the outside of the van that can be used to dry things on? Thanks.
Wow,ur very smart an organized, very good build.
Wow. How did you build it yourself? (I can't even change a flat tire myself) lol
❤ I love it mmm, blessings dear, I'm thinking to do the same ❤
Very nice, travel well!
Great job!!!!! What a inspiration!
wow, amazing young woman, well done.

Where did you get that magnetic drying rack with hooks that you attached on the outside?
That’s a very nice build .. Do you travel just you and the dog?

I'm so tempted to do this for trips but with two kids these cargo vans don't have enough seats for travelling. RV I guess it is :p.
NICE

Simple, practical and comfy. What more do you need? :D
Very nice!
You are awesome!
Lovely van! It always sounds funny hearing Americans say ‘bathroom’ instead of toilet, especially when talking about taking their dog out 😂
I wonder if a purple mattress could be put in there. They are rather heavy, so I have no clue what the weight limit is.
We love your van. What are the walls made of?
Great bit did I miss bathroom/shower?
She had a nature’s head compositing toilet and seem to shower outdoors in the video.

Did so miss the links to your terrific additions?
I'd like to know what the who dehumidifiers brand is
I want her helping me do a van build … she has it going on

why sell the sprinter if was better? white is nice in summer but doesn't blend nice in landscape
