Rings are way cheaper and way more effective. It is like 30 to 50, and another 30 just to get a pullup bar to hang it on, and voila, if you have garage beams, that can work for rings as well. Also you can for sure so a muscle up for sure, just a little low, I am around 5ft8 doing ring muscle ups with rings hanging on a door pullup bar. TRXs are definitely more beginners friendly for sure tho.
Excellent points. Garage beams would be clutch. Also, there’s no way I could do a muscle up within a door frame. But, then again, I can’t do a muscle up on rings with enough clearance either 😂
ring I haven't tried it, but it might be more comfortable to rest your foot on the strap itself instead of the ring when using your foot Also, it may be good to attach a strap to the end of the strap
At the start of the pandemic, my "suspension trainer" was 2 bed sheets with knots tied at one end used on a closet door on my balcony. Only slightly less exercise variety than these 2 options when I wasn't able to find either in stock anywhere.
I was a bit dumbfounded when he said that as well. Let's not over think this. I think for at homeþgym rings are so much better. I own the $40 Titan Fitness rings from Amazon & they are great. I've used the TRX & where it excels is for a beginner or someone that either travels (the door mount is nice for that) or whose goal is only achieving a basic or maybe moderate level of fitness using only a suspension trainer. In my opinion rings (with a high enough ceiling mounting point) give you such a huge return on your investment even just adding innthe above the rings work like pullups, dips, & muscle ups let alone when you build some legit strength & mobility & start incorporating gymnastic movements like the planchet & iron cross for example. You get all these benefits for 1/3- 1/4 the price if a TRX which is a big deal for a lot of us! Also for ceiling mounting into rafters or a floor joist I use cargo D rings/ tie down anchors & lag screws which are economical ( a few bucks) readily available on Amazon or from any hardware store (HD or Lowes for example) vs the $40 single TRX X mounting point! Either way get rings, a suspension trainer or look up some simple DIY suspension trainers & get after it.
@@harvestblades Yeah I agree. Rings for me are far more versatile but each to his own. I've currently got them hanging from my power rack but would love to have them higher up. I do have some woods nearby so I guess I could use a tree. I do barbell, kettlebells, sandbags, slam balls, bands, cycling etc. But rings are my newest purchase and am really enjoying them. I look forward to ring workouts more than any other, although I'm quite new to it I'm able to do a muscle up but need to improve my form in the transition. I bought the gravity fitness rings and whilst they're very good (I have no real frame of reference) the wood splinters off slightly when you first start using them. Although I'll say I haven't actually had a splinter. I'd definitely recommend chalk to anyone though.
Rings every time!
1. More versatile in terms of range of exercises
2. Can be adjusted independently
3. More durable
4. A lot cheaper
Honestly I’ve been using the rings a ton lately and they are so great. Brutal. But great.
Just started using the TRX at my Planet Fatness. I really like them, easier on my joints since I have a golfer's elbow issue at the moment.
Thanks for the knowledge. I'm going with the Rapid Rings now over the TRX
Thanks for watching!
Obsessed with my rings! Never though about TRX !
They both do the trick! Rings are awesome tho

Hey, I respect the hustle! If they worked, they worked! That's a clever solution.
@@Levi.Jaeckel Credit goes to Jeremy Ethier on YT. Useful if traveling too. I did get an actual suspension trainer when they were back in stock.
I love my rings!
They are an excellent tool. Thank you for watching.
10:17 - That's a very portable looking dog.
🔥🔥🔥
You don't need to weave the rings together...you just use one 🤷♂️
This is true! Simple.
