THANKS for the AWESOME review! My first time on your channel and am a big fan :) I'm a Pilates Instructor that started using TRX a couple of months ago as an addition to my classes and clients. I'm a HUGE fan of TRX! I'm now getting one (Pro 4 based on your review) for my personal practice and to work with clients indoors and outdoors (on occasion).
Hey I just want to say, that I was very impressed with you’re video breakdown of the TRX. I was TRX Certified back in 2013 and did some videos for 24 hour Fitness and have been a master trainer for years. You really explained thing very well and gave examples so other people can get an idea what you are talking about. Unlike other reviews where they just say the difference with no explanation. So great job man and keep on inspiring individuals to get out of there own mental prison and explore the world of fitness !!!
I had a cheep set of coped TRX I used them for 1 month and I almost face planted when the stitches came apart. That was it I went an got the TRX Tactical 10 years later I’ve still got the same one and I travel everywhere with it. Best bit of kit I own.
I have the TRX Tactical and wear a size 8 shoe and I've never had any issues with my feet slipping through the foot straps when wearing tennis shoes. Even with one legged lunges. Nice video by the way.
Can I replace damaged foam with dumbbell handle grips, foot grips, etc.? What if I don't know the size of the plastic cylinder under the foam? (I don't have a TRX yet, so I can't measure it myself) It is undeniable that the grip may become too thick TRX PRO 4 has become a strong purchase candidate It's been a while, so I feel like the TRX PRO will soon come with a dustproof function. Also, I have a feeling that there will be a tactical kit model that matches the size of the foot.
Thanks for this information. Considering buying for home gym. I now know the main difference between entry and pro models. The TRX website was not that useful in breaking down the difference as you were in this video which focused on actual usability and function.
Super helpful, thank you! I'm looking at the items list for the Home2 vs the Pro4. It looks like they both have the suspension anchor, but only the Pro4 has the xtender. What is the xtender, and do you need it for harder workouts? Also, unrelated, in a home gym situation, do you prefer a ceiling or a wall mount? Thanks again for your great talk through!
Thank you for watching and spending some of your time with us! The xtender would only be needed if you have very tall ceilings. If doesn’t make an exercise harder. That would be up to you! Lol I would prefer a ceiling mount over a door mount every time! There are actually some exercises you can only do with a ceiling mount. The door mount works when you are on the go or traveling. Thanks again! 💪👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
The main difference is the handles… they are all very durable and safe for any TRX exercise.. But that home versions handles will not hold up over the years and you will need to put something around the handles as the foam falls off.. Let us know how your first workout goes if you decide to pick one up! 👍💪🔥🔥

Thanks for the helpful information. Still stuck between the Pro4 and Tactical. However your explanation of the differences in the foot loop part is big. Still thinking tho but thank you for the great video.
Awesome video. I wanna one which is ok for traveling with it, still getting all the benefits. Would you go for pro 4... I would love adjustable feet strap... ... please help. I’m a pretty small girl 😅
Thanks for watching Francesca! Yes go with the 4.. the tactical is lighter but you will need the adjustable feet straps with small feet. It’s a little heavier but not by much. You will be happier with the pro. Thanks again! And let me know how you like it when it comes in!

Great video. I was wondering which TRX would be right for my son's golf training. TRX's website is not bad but I still had some unanswered questions. Your explanation is better.
Thanks for uploading the video! I didn’t know about the differences. I bought my Tactical TRX about 8 years ago, but hardly used it because my gym acquired the TRX. With the COVID-19, I’ve “dusted off” my Tactical TRX and take it to an empty shopping parking garage for my daily workout. I’m so glad that I have a Tactical TRX. I didn’t know it weighed less than the other premium TRX, but since you mentioned it, I noticed it. The sand in the Velcro is something that people should seriously consider if they intend to use it outdoors. Once sand gets into the Velcro, it’s safety is compromised.
If you are in the market for an upgrade.. I would go for it. I actually still use my original with foam handles also. It still holds up. But the pro feels a lot better 👍💪
I'm just starting and this will just be for my use only. Im thinking the entry one, can i use it on the door and still put my weight on it without worry?
Yes! My first 10 TRX were all entry level and I used them for year on all sizes on clients and they were fine… the foam on the handles was the only thing that wore off pretty quick. Thanks! 👍💪
Yeah they are definitely good to have around! I have both. If you travel a lot the tactical is easier to toss in a backpack. If you plan on leaving it at home.. I would get the 4. Let me know which one you decide on
@@FDMXfitness Friend, thank you very much for your valuable help, I opted for the pro 4 since I will be at home and I can adjust my feet as you indicated. What exercises do you recommend for knee rehab?
Thanks so much for your thorough and valuable comparison. The difference between the foam and rubber handles sold me on spending a few extra bucks to get the model that will remain most like new. It appears that there's a 14 oz, difference between the Pro and the Tactical models. With my circumstances, would you but the Pro IV or the Tactical model?
Yeah definitely get one with rubber handles. As far as which one? If you are really going to travel a lot and bring one with you I would lean towards the tactical. You can ball it up and throw it in a bag easier also. But remember that the foot cradles do not adjust. So if your wife has smaller feet and plans on doing some leg exercises it may be an issue. Either way, both are excellent suspension trainers and will last through years of training
Thanks for the upload and explanation. I currently own a set of gymnastic rings, and I'm predominately looking into purchasing the TRX for outdoor and hotel workouts. I'm in between the TRX Fit and TRX Strong. I won't be doing any leg exercises. What are your thoughts?
Great video. Like so many others I'm here looking at getting a TRX, since the gym is closed over COVID-19. I'd be the only person using it, I wear a U.S. size 10 shoe, would the non-adjustable strap on the Tactical be an issue for my foot size? I kind of like the army color scheme of the Tactical, but I'd be worried I'd be giving up the functional benefits w/ the adjustable footstrap and heavier material. Given the current situation, its a little harder to run to the store and check it out in person.
Good question and comment! Thanks! I wear a size 11 shoe, and when doing lunges on the tactical my foot can go right through. I would get the pro4.. especially if you want to use it for any leg exercises. Thanks again bro! 👍💪💪
Would you say both models offer similar durability? Their site says the tactical is their most rugged but dunno if that’s just cuz it’s army coloured or what... Do you know off hand what weight the Tactical carabiner is tested for, the site says 1300lbs for the Pro4, but nothing for the Tactical. Have you reviewed the TRX Force App? I know thst was something extra the Tactical includes but not the Pro4. Just curious about these small differences between those two models.
Very helpful video...thank you! You mentioned you are a size 11, would a size 14 sneaker (I'm 6'4") slip through the foot cradle on the Tactical version when doing lunges, floor bridges, etc? I am trying to decide between the Tactical and Pro 4. I like the lighter nylon webbing used on the Tactical for several reasons, one of which is that it's lighter for travel as you mentioned (was also told it is stronger and more durable...significance here meaning lighter but no less strong). Ultimately, total body functionality is most important to me...so if a size 14 foot (non-boot) will slip through the foot cradle, that would be significant. Would really appreciate your thoughts and recommendation. Thank you!
Thanks for the comment! And I would say no.. If you wear a 14 your foot should be more than fine. If I wear basketball ball shoes (not workout shoes) my foot won’t slip through. So you should be good to go! Thanks again! Come back to see us for some TRX workouts! 👍💪
@@FDMXfitness Thank you! Curious though, you said in your video that the TRX Pro 4 was "definitely your favorite TRX"... is this just bkz of the adjustable foot strap? If you had a size 14 foot, would you still choose the Pro 4 or would you prefer the Tactical? Thank you!
@@FDMXfitness Thank you - I appreciate your follow-up...it was very helpful. While I liked the Tactical's weight and the strength of the nylon strap material ... what you said about the significance of the adjustable foot cradle for certain leg-related exercises like lunges, etc made the Pro4 seem more functionally appealing. Despite having large feet (14), it seemed like being able to strap the cradle tight might be one less distraction for leg work...allowing one to better focus on good form and not what must be done to keep foot from slipping through the cradle. It's tough without actually trying both to know if this reasoning holds true, but decided to go with Digi Camo Pro4. Thank you!

I am thinking about buying a home trx for home use, because of COVID-19. I won't have my personal trainer to spot or support me. What model is the best if you are training alone? I probably won't be able to set myself up in the foot straps by myself. Thanks
They are all pretty similar as far as function goes. They just differ by materials. The most sturdy and strong would be the pro. The other versions are also safe but are not as thick. So any would work for you. Train hard and train safe! Thanks! 💪💪👍
Have not tried the TRX go yet... all TRX trainers that I have tried have been sturdy and strong. But if the the price is half, I doubt it has rubber handles which I prefer. But like I said they are all strong enough to support your body weight 👍💪💪
Yes this would work just fine! There are modifications you can make for many exercises until you build up to the more advanced. We will have some more beginner workouts in the future also that you can follow along to. Thanks! And good job getting started on making changes! 💪👍
A quick fix for foam handles coming apart is to wrap it with a tennis racket overgrip (rubberised tape). They’re cheap and come with different feel and are used on tennis rackets to adjust for bigger or smaller hands. Here’s a vid on how to put them on (starts at 1:52). ua-cam.com/video/OmVqVgty1og/v-deo.html Great vid on the TRX 👍🏻. Much appreciated.
It looks like it just comes with the ceiling mount. They seem to currently be out of the door mount and are offering this set up. I only use the ceiling mount. I have 4 of them. But if you need to use the door mount, you don’t want to get the X set up. It’s the same TRX trainer though, just different mounts. Thanks!
3:51 you can just buy a decent carabines. you need to understand the reason why these cheap imitation can sell their product so cheap is because of materials. technically speaking those straps are cheap.. you can have the same strong strap quality like the original TRX as long as you can find a decent manufacturer. the difference will be on those metals parts like the carabiner. so if you gonna buy a cheap imitation make sure to replace the carabiner coz that's where the merchant tries to lessen the price of their product.
I've been looking for any kind of deal on the Pro 4 and have been unable to find one. They even add shipping!Hard nut to crack with the top of the line : ) @@FDMXfitness
Thanks for this video. I have a TRX dating back to maybe 2014 (personal use) and it still works great. It has rubber handles. I think back then that was the only yellow one and then there was a more expensive "military" kaki version. I now need one for elsewhere. I definitely want the rubber handles, but it needs to be light so I'm thinking tactical, but here's mu question: how are the main straps (not the foot straps) adjusted? Do you just press and pull or push like my old one, or does it require a lot of manoeuvring (say like you would do on a rucksack's belt?) I think that would be a lot of money for that! Thanks again.
The straps both adjust pretty similar with a push and pull. The main difference is the material they are using. Seems more thick and probably durable on the pro. But if you are looking for something lighter and easier to transport, then the tactical will definitely do the job. Thanks!
The answer is… none. Get a Recoil S2. It’s more expensive but it’s infinitely easier to adjust, the straps are always the same length, and there is no hardware rubbing against you when doing chest presses or other exercises.
trx is insanely overpriced. go to any hardware store and you can put together something more easily adjustable with the ability to support 1000s of pounds for a fraction of the price.

This video is in 2020. Amazon today seems to have "TRX GO" (Is it same as your "tactical"?). What do you think of that? It's almost half the price.
Have not tried the TRX go yet... all TRX trainers that I have tried have been sturdy and strong. But if the the price is half, I doubt it has rubber handles which I prefer. But like I said they are all strong enough to support your body weight 👍💪💪
Would you review TRX DUO?
If we get around to buying one we will definitely do a video. I currently don’t have one. Thanks! 💪👍
Thank you is this exercise good for someone who has never exercised for a overweight person please holler me back to reply !
Yes this would work just fine! There are modifications you can make for many exercises until you build up to the more advanced. We will have some more beginner workouts in the future also that you can follow along to. Thanks! And good job getting started on making changes! 💪👍
@@FDMXfitness Thank you for replying back !
Of course! And thank you for spending some time on our channel! We appreciate it! Let me know how your fitness journey comes along! 👍💪
And anyone tell me what the black strap on the tactical TRX is for? It cane with me tactical TRX. I have NO clue what's it for. Thank you, Joe
Extender strap to make it longer if you need to tie around a tall tree.. I used mine to hang some spri bands in the garage.. 👍💪💪
This video is very nice :) I'd like to ask if there is a real difference beetween Trx Pro 3 and Trx Pro 4. Thanks a lot
Thanks! And I’m not completely certain of the differences between the 3 and the 4. If anyone in the comments has the pro 3 please let us know! Thanks!
Dear FDMX Fitness, are there any differences beetween Trx Pro 3 and Trx Pro 4? thanks
Thanks for the great video. You convinced to get the pro...
Thanks for watching! Let’s get ready to put that TRX pro to work when you get it! 👍💪
Thanks for the feedback! 👍💪
What is the difference between the Pro4 and the Pro4X?
It looks like it just comes with the ceiling mount. They seem to currently be out of the door mount and are offering this set up. I only use the ceiling mount. I have 4 of them. But if you need to use the door mount, you don’t want to get the X set up. It’s the same TRX trainer though, just different mounts. Thanks!
FDMX Fitness got it, thanks!
Very helpful, now I know which one to buy. Thank you 🙏🏿💪🏽
Thanks for watching the video! Be sure to put that TRX to some good use when it arrives! Thanks again! 👍💪
How about the "Elite system"?
I have not tried the Elite system as of yet. But so far I have trusted the build quality of all TRX suspension trainers.
Thanks for the feedback! 👍💪
Good points about safety. Helped me to make choice.
Thanks! And congrats on getting your new TRX! Be sure to put it to good use when it comes in! 👍💪💪
Good review
Thanks for stopping by and watching! 😎👍💪
I've been looking for any kind of deal on the Pro 4 and have been unable to find one. They even add shipping!Hard nut to crack with the top of the line : )

Thanks!
Helpful, thank you
Thanks for watching Sally! Let us know how you like it if you decide to pick one up!
Thank you. Very helpful!
I just got a $100 tactical on ebay. I think I may change the carabiner to a rock climbing one.
Thx a lot, was more helpful as the TRX website
Thanks Oliver! Make sure you put that TRX to use when you get it! 💪💪
anyone knows the differences Pro 3 and Pro 4?
I’m not sure? There might be some slight differences in the strap.. But if you can find a pro3 for supper cheap.. I would get it
Thanks, just the info I needed. Pro4 for me!
Thanks for the feedback! 👍💪

Yeah but why is it $250?
Very informative!
Thanks for the feedback! 👍💪
Bro huge thank you for your trx review series! Hella helped me out.
Thanks for the feedback! 👍💪
thank you for your video. i guess i'll go for the pro4 then, as i intend to use it for myself and for work too.
Oh yeah definitely go with the pro if you are going to have clients use it.. the foam will rip in a few months on the regular one
@@FDMXfitness you also convinced me in the video when you talked about the foam around the handles. Good one thanks
Thanks again for watching! Yeah once you try the rubber handles you will never want to use the foam ones again lol
Gold's gym have decent ones
Velcro not working in dirt, sand, when wet and so on is def a myth.
The answer is… none. Get a Recoil S2. It’s more expensive but it’s infinitely easier to adjust, the straps are always the same length, and there is no hardware rubbing against you when doing chest presses or other exercises.
Thanks for the feedback! 👍
Une blague le titre en francais et rien pour traduire ?!?
trx is insanely overpriced. go to any hardware store and you can put together something more easily adjustable with the ability to support 1000s of pounds for a fraction of the price.
Yeah that takes work. Screw that I’d rather pay for a nice dedicated product.
