Ugh Lynn I am so envious of your peyote seedlings they're adorable! Sadly I can't grow peyote cacti because they're illegal to own any part of here in the US. 😭 SO CUTE. Why must plants be illegal.... I can understand for invasive reasons but not for the others.
I am just stunned at how amazing your Arizona Queen of the Nights look. I was told once that the climate here is optimal maybe once every 30 or so years for these plants to really take off from seeds. I think seeing how yours did in a bag for almost a year, gives me a clue what that means.
Thanks so much Bruce for gifting me these INCREDIBLE Peniocereus greggii seeds :-) these babies have grown absolutely AMAZINGLY and are even bigger now :-) I ADORE them :-) thank you so very much for gifting the seeds to me and I will keep you updated on how they grow over the following weeks ad n months :-) they are such CUTIES :-) thanks a million Bruce and sending you an abundance of love and tons of happiness from right across the Emerald Isle for a BRILLIANT Sunday ahead XXXXX

Your L. Williamsii almost made me cry... I tried so hard to get the 20 seeds I did, and I apparently didn't use a good method, it's been 2 months and the only signs of life died out... Anyways, I'm happy for you, and I'm definitely using your method next time :) love the videos!
Thanks so much Tyler for your wonderful comment :-) so sorry about your Loph seeds, they can be a bit tricky to get to propagate and I definitely find using the bagged method works a treat as it really helps to prevent mold and fungus attacks on the newly germinated seeds :-) thanks so much for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness from right across the Emerald Isle for a FANTASTIC Friday today XXXXX
After the 3 months when they are out of the bag, how often should you water them? I have some lophophoras almost a year old but I was a bit too enthusiastic about watering and one started to rot, so I stopped watering them and they seem totally fine now, but i'm hesitant to water now.
Ive got like...60 odd cacti seed sown in a heated propogator. Theyve been sown for a few weeks now and 6 have sprouted. Still waiting impatiently for the rest to germinate though. Ive got 5 of 6 demon red chilli plants which have sprouted into little adorable seedlings.
Well done Liam on your seed sowing success its such fun to grow from seed :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from right across the Emerald Isle for a fantastic Sunday ahead XXXX
Thanks so much Mick for your fantastic comments :-) thats brilliant news that you are going to be growing from seed and building up your collection that way its far more rewarding to do this, and I will be harvesting some cactus seed next week you will be very welcome to have :-) The best month to sow seeds would be in from early May onwards from the Spring because the temperature needs to be about 70 degree 21 celsius to get them to germinate, you can sow Cacti seeds in the Winter if you have a grow box with additional heat lamps and lights and some growers do have great success with growing seeds in the Winter with a grow box, but I haven't one of these and grow mine in the spring when the weather gets warmer, Cacti seeds will keep up to several years once they have been harvested too which is brilliant :-) and any cacti seeds that you have now will keep until the Spring :-) thanks a million Mick for watching and sending you tons of love and heaps of Cactus Power form right across the Emerald Isle for a MAGNIFICENT Friday today XXXX
wonderful job you have done. one question why did the seeds not get air as you zipped the bags tightly for three months, what did they do for oxygen?? Thank you.
I love your videos, and how informative they are. I have a packet of assorted cacti seeds and they've been there for three years now. They were stored in a dry cool area, but I don't know how to deal with them. Some advice would be appreciated. Also I live in a tropical country
Hi there :-D cacti seed can keep for several years or more if kept dry and I bet your seed would still be great to sow and grow :-D here is a video I have made on How to grow cacti from seed :-D ua-cam.com/video/GJ0E91skZXI/v-deo.html thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from the Emerald Isle XXXXX
+Marko Mihajlovic Thanks so much for your wonderful comment :-) these seedlings really are the cutest :-) thanks so much for watching and sending loads of love and happiness from Ireland XXXXX
Hello Lyn, I am so glad I stumbled across your videos. You are incredibly informative and knowledgeable. I am now inspired to grow my own little collection of succulents. The extra reassurance of the bagging method is very comforting! I have read somewhere that after sterilising the soil to keep it dry for two weeks prior to sowing the seeds. Do you think that would be necessary? Also would adding a little fungicide to the water when soaking the soil prior to sowing decrease the chances of mold growth? Thank you in advance! P.S I love your positive energy, watching your content is therapeutic :) Lots of love from Australia
Hi there :-) Thanks so much for your wonderful comment :-) I am so happy that you found my channel :-) and thats such brilliant news that you are growing your own collection of succulents, these plants are so incredible and so much fun to grow and even more amazing to grow them from seed :-) I wouldn't worry about keeping the soil dry after sterilizing it, and I sow the seeds straight after sterilizing the soil after the soil has cooled down :-) you can add fungicide to the water also but I find that sterilizing the soil and boiling the water also prior to sowing the seeds really helps to keep the fungus away :-) Hope this helps and good luck with sowing from seed, let me know how you get on and how they grow for you
+Desert Plants of Avalon thank you so much for the kind reply. I'm feeling a little star struck right now haha. I will definitely keep you up to date. Thank you again :)
Great looking seedlings! I'm going to try my luck again with 3 of the small clear containers tonight. My first batches this spring died due to too much sun, so I've learned how delicate these little seedlings can be. I've had hit and miss germination results even inside the same baggie- (although the planting mediums might have been different) Even your mold looks cute! Mine is a carpet of green in a couple of pots- should I open the baggies and treat it, or just let the strong survive?
HAPPY NEW YEAR :-D so sorry to hear that your seedlings died, but its good news you will be trying again and its difficult to get seedlings through the first months and first year, I would recommend opening the bag and gently scraping off the green, it is usually harmless but can sometimes overpower the seedlings and you would be best to scrape it off and then leave the bags open, fingers crossed they should be ok :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from Ireland for a brilliant 2018 ahead XXXX
+Bob Lt (BobMel's Gardening) haha! Bob I am a disaster at pronouncing their names too, I haven't got a clue and most of the names are real tongue twisters haha! Hi Lynn . Your videos are very inspiring. I sowed some williamsii about three weeks ago in a take away tub on a heat mat. They are coming along nicely but I'm worried I sowed too late. I plan to open the tubs at 3 months and climatize them - do you think they will be developed enough to survive 'rest' over winter?
Hi Lynn Those seedlings look super! How much do you water the seedlings once they come out of the bag? I have hildewintera and echinopsis seedlings that are still in bags from last summer and I am scared to open them!
Hi there :-D thats wonderful you have seedlings, once I get them out the bags, and they are at least 2 cms in width, I let the soil dry out in between waterings, here is a video I have made on How I water cacti and succulents here :ua-cam.com/video/YCmDDrtxPOA/v-deo.html thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching, Sending you an abundance of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Emerald Isle for a sunny Sunday today XXXXX
Wow, Lyn, it looks so easy when you do it! I've been trying to grow some seeds of cactus and succulents, so far only a few cactus sprouted. I've seen tons of different directions on how to grow the seeds, some say that the bags are not really necessary, some just use cactus mix... I've been trying different processes and my cactus sprouted in cotton balls, lol. I live in California and wanted to know if it's really necessary to have them in bags here. Its pretty hot all day and night. And what are the bags really for? Thanks for the video, keep it up!
Thank you so much Sarytta for your wonderful comment :-) thats fantastic that you sprouted your cactus seeds in cotton balls :-) the brilliant news is because you live in California you should be perfectly ok with growing your seeds without the bagged method, here in Ireland I have so many problems with mold and fungal attacks because our climate is very wet and humid even in the middle of Summer, and I have lost a lot of seedlings to damping off in the past, and keeping them in the bags helps to keep them in a sterile environment and keeps the mold and fungus away, but because your live in a drier climate you should be absolutely fine growing them without the bags and a sandy cactus mix :-) you are so lucky living in California with the gorgeous sunshine :-) good luck with growing from seed and thanks a million for watching :-) sending you an abundance of love and happiness and happy growing from Ireland and have a wonderful afternoon XXXXX
I have been growing Trichocereus Pachanoi from seed, based on you method for starting seeds. I placed the containers (in bags) under a T5 grow light. The seedlings looked a little red, so I assumed it was too much light. I then bought a long piece of burlap from the fabric store, and layed the burlap across all of the containers. Within a week, the seedlings returned to their green color. They seemed very happy, so I left the burlap on top to filter the light a little bit. I started these seeds in April. After 4 months I opened the bags and watered, then resealed the bags and put them back under the T5 lights with the burlap. My question is.....should I now remove the burlap and fully expose them to the T5 lights over the winter? They are about 7 months old now. Or will they be ok with the filtered light for the winter? And how often should I water over the Winter? Should I take them out of the bags, or will they be ok in the bags until Spring? Thanks so much! Your videos have helped me so much.
LOL! I know its such a shame as its a really wonderful plant to grow an ridiculous with the laws :-( thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and heaps of PLANT POWER from right across the Emerald Isle and have a terrific Thursday XXXXX
Hi Lynn, did you grow the peyote seedlings in the same mix as the trays in the first video - 2 parts soil, 1 part perlite, 1 part sand? Or did you use a different mix for them? And did they have any direct sun for the 11 months? Thanks!
Hi there :-D yes I used the same soil mix as 2 parts soil and 1 part perlite and 1 part sand :-D and they seem to be happy in this mix :-D I kept the seedlings in a sunny position that got morning sun only but away from very strong all day sunshine as they tend to go red if given all days sunshine when young
+jay0kew Thanks a million for your wonderful comment :-) I am so happy with the size of these seedlings and it was brilliant to be able to get them out of their bags at last into the fresh air :-) thanks so much for watching and sending heaps of love and tons of happiness from right across the emerald Isle for a MAGNIFICENT Sunday XXXXXX
What kind of soil did you use? or recommend i use ? i have horrible success with germinating from seed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ..
+Joe Walawender Hi Joe :-) thanks so much for watching :-) I make my own cactus and succulent mix when sowing seeds and potting up cuttings, and I use a soil based compost that is mostly peat free, such as John innes no 1 or 2, and I mix it with half horticultural sand, 50% mix of both and I find that i have much better success with sowing seeds and propagating cuttings using this mix, you can also use extra perlite and or grit, but I find that using a soil based compost and adding the extra horticultural sand works a treat :-) Hope this helps and good luck with growing :-) sending much love and happy growing from Ireland for a wonderful Wednesday XXXXX
+fifi fifi Thanks so much Corina for your wonderful comment :-) it was so wonderful to be able to get them out of the bags at last and they look so cute with their little spines on them :-) thanks a million for watching and Sending lots of love and heaps of happiness from Ireland and have a fantastic week ahead XXXXX

+Joe Walawender Hi Joe :-) thankfully I haven't had any problems with mold since growing them in the bags, but if you get any mold while growing them in the bags, then it would be best to briefly open up the bags and spray with an fungicide, although a lot of molds can be harmless it would be best to open up the bags and treat with a fungicide to be on the safe side :-) Sending heaps of love and happy growing from Ireland for a TERRIFIC Thursday XXXXX
Hi Lynn I was wondering if you could give me any tips on watering the seedlings when out of the bag. As I am not watering my other cacti at the moment I'm a little stuck on what to do
Hi there :-) yes the good news is now they are out of the bag, you can let the surface of the soil dry out that little bit more now, I keep my seedlings during their first year in a heated room at a minimum of no lower than 10 Celsius / 50 Fahrenheit of a night and in a sunny south facing window :-) unless you are growing under grow lamps :-) this time of year I let the surface of the soil dry out before watering them again but not letting the soil go too long with out water because the seedlings still have delicate roots, I give them a light water then let the soil dry out slightly for a few days before watering again, depending on the temperature as during sunnier days the soil dries out faster in the window :-) Here is link to a video I made last year on caring for seedlings during their first winter and share a few things on there but will make an update video on caring for seedlings during the winter in the new year :-) ua-cam.com/video/FWJHRytirc8/v-deo.html Hope this helps and sending you an abundance of love and heaps of happy growing from right across the emerald Isle and have a BRILLIANT New week ahead XXXXXX
Hello) 10 celsius sounds a bit chilly. When you water the seedlings what is the minimum temperature of the air? Is it OK to keep seedlings in their first year at a temperature not lower than 20 celsius?
where do you get your seeds from? so cute the little tall ones. I'm after tall cacti seeds like trichocereus pachanoi. Would love peanut cacti seeds too as i like there easy growth habit.
Thanks so much Arif for your wonderful comment :-) I was really lucky with these seeds because my friend in Arizona gifted them to me from his own plant :-) I sometimes am lucky with growing seeds as some of mine produced seeds from my own plants too, this year my Peanut cactus produced seeds after 30 years, I was so pleased an dI have managed to get them to germinate too which is brilliant :-) thanks a million for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness from right across the Emerald Isle for a fantastic Thursday XXXX
Desert Plants of Avalon have you seen the yellow peanut cactus? its beautiful hybrid. I've heard if you cross this with the original peanut that the flowers would sometimes be a mix of yellow and red striped petals. Yellow peanut is more common on grafted cacti x
Arif Khan Hi Arif :-) yes I have seen the yellow Peanut cacti they are wonderful and I often see them grafted :-) I bet the flowers on the cross hybrids are amazing with the yellow and red stropes :-) XXXXX
Hello! Thanks for sharing the video. Please, I have a question, after three months, when removing the seedlings from the plastic bag, what should be the watering method?
Thanks so much for your wonderful comment :-) after removing the seedlings from the bag you can then let the soil in the pots dry out slightly in between waterings, and then you can allow the soil in the pots to dry out completely before you water them again, Overwinter them in their first winter in a warm room but still continue to give them a small amount of water every 2 weeks just enough to stop their young roots from drying up, :-) hope this helps and thanks so much for watching and sending an abundance of love and happiness from right across the Emerald Isle for a fantastic week ahead XXXX
Thanks dear friend! All my experience in growing succulents've learned with your videos. Currently I have put to germinate Echinocactus Grusonii Albispinus and Echeveria Agavoides seeds. I think I'm very anxious... Thanks again.
The Lophophoria babies have such cute little fat round cheeks. Makes me want to nuzzle them. And a 12 month gestation period too!! :)) GREAT JOB, mom!! :))
haha I love being a cactus 'mommy' :-D thanks so much Rhyannon for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you tons of love and happiness and heaps of PLANT POWER your way for a FANTASTIC day XXXX
i have to admit I've been wanting Peniocereus greggii seeds for a while. Do you sell? ill pay. just recently germinated my Kakteensamen mixed in 1 week. i'm a cacti daddy lol. So fun and rewarding too x
Hi Arif :-) thats wonderful news that you have germinated your Kakteensamen in a week thats so exciting :-) I was really lucky to have been gifted these Peniocerus greggii seeds from my friend and I know they may be a bit hard to find, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and Plant power from right across the Emerald Isle for a fantastic weekend ahead XXXX
Hi! I was wondering what would happen if I used bags when I grew succulents from seeds? Have you tried this? Any tips for beginners like me? What are the best kinds of succulents to get? (That is, if you know anything about them) Thanks! 😊
Hi Emma :-) Yes I have used this method very successfully when growing succulent seeds too :-) here is a video I made on sowing Aloe succulent seeds :-) ua-cam.com/video/92f8iL8pUeg/v-deo.html thanks so much for watching and good luck with your seeds :-) XXXXX
They are cuties :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful Wednesday XXXX
Hi Trinell :-D because cacti need a drier air environment around them a terrarium would cause to much air humidity for cactus and cactus seedlings and this could cause fungus and rot issues on their stems, thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful Wednesday XXXX
Hi there :-D once the bag is removed and the seedlings are starting to take more of a shape you can allow the soil to dry out slightly in between waterings, but don't allow the soil to dry out completely as they will be still forming their root systems, just allow the very top part of the soil about half a cm down in the soil to dry out before watering again, thanks so much for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from the Emerald Isle for a terrific Tuesday ahead XXXX
Hi there :-D I planted about 10 seeds and I got a seedling from each seed, I think that they are illegal to grow in Canada but I am not 100% but they are illegal to grow in many places which is a shame as they are wonderful cacti to grow, thankfully they are legal to grow in UK and Ireland thank goodness, thanks so much for watching and have a fantastic day XXXXX
Hy Lynn, I was wondering if you have ever grown succulents from seeds, I ordered some succulent seeds and and haven't really been successful with all of them, do you have any advice on how to grow them??
Hi Keidy :-) Yes I have grown a few succulents from seeds over the years and I have made a video on how to grow aloe from seeds and will post up the link here :-) the procedure will be the same as with all succulents seeds :-) ua-cam.com/video/92f8iL8pUeg/v-deo.html good luck with growing from seed and although it can take a few weeks for most seeds to germinate, if you are patient its so rewarding and fun to do :-) Thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending an abundance of love and happiness and heaps of PLANT POWER from right across the Emerald Isle and have a fantastic Sunday ahead XXXX
+Brian Wingbermuehle Thanks so much for your fantastic comment Brian :-) the peyotes are so cute looking, and its such a shame they are illegal in the U.S, I pray that they don't ever ban them here in Ireland LOL! Sending you an abundance of love and happiness and heaps of happy growing from Ireland and have a WONDERFUL Wednesday XXXXX
Hi Alexys :-D The best Cacti to start off with growing from seeds would be the Mammillaria varieties and also the Echinopsis varieties :-D they are brilliant to grow from seeds and I would definitely start off with growing these first, Good luck with growing from seed its so much fun and very rewarding to do
Thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and heaps of happiness from right across the Emerald Isle for a brilliant new week ahead XXXXX
Hi lyn my seeds have been in now for 3 months they arnt as big as these in the video what do u suggest I do keep them zipped up or slowly open them, if open them do they stay in the bag for as long as u have kept them in for
Hi there :-) if they are still quite small, than I would leave them in the bags for longer :-) I leave mine in the bags until they are almost touching the top of the bags, and than I will slowly unzip the bag over the days to allow them to acclimatize to the difference in the humidity :-) I have left some of my seedlings in their bags for over a year without opening them and they have been absolutely fine :-) I would definitely leave them in for as long as they are not touching the top of the bags :-) hope this helps and sending you an abundance of love and happy growing from Ireland XXXXX
Hey a question, is it okay for them to be moist for the first year? (Seems like your soil has been moist for the entire duration? I got some copiapoa cinerea seeds comming and was wondering if the roots wont rot?
Hi there :-D yes its important to not let the soil dry out when growing cacti from seed, after 3 months or when the seedlings are about half a cm wide you can allow the soil to dry out slightly but don't let the soil dry out completely until they are at least 12 months old, because the delicate root hairs on the young seedlings can dry out easy if the soil is kept too dry for long, good luck with your seedlings and thanks so much for watching XXXXX
Thanks for sharing, I bought some succulent seeds that I am going to give them a try to grow them. Any suggestions, this will be my first time trying to grow succulents from seeds? :-)
+Denise Mosley Thanks so much for your wonderful comment Denise :-) it will be such fun growing your succulents from seed, its so rewarding :-) I would definitely recommend using the baggd method as it is far easier and more chance of success, here is a video I made on how to grow Aloe from seed but the process will be exactly the same as with all other succulents :-) ua-cam.com/video/92f8iL8pUeg/v-deo.html Hope it helps and good luck with growing from seed :-) thanks so much for watching and have a FANTASTIC Wednesday ahead XXXXX
+Joe Walawender John innes is difficult to find especially outside of the UK and Ireland, but if you can use another compost that is mostly soil based rather than peat based then this should work in the same way :-) thanks so much for watching Joe and good luck with growing and sending an abundance of love and happiness from Ireland XXXXX
Just started growing what I thought to be San Pedro cacti from seed, although the sprouts don't look like San Pedro.. does anyone have any young Pedro baby pictures I can compare with?
+Suzie Charles Thanks so much for your fantastic comment Suzie :-) I am so pleased I have got them out their bags at last, they are so cute with their little spines :-) thanks so much for watching and Sending you an abundance of love and happiness from Ireland and have a WONDERFUL Wednesday XXXXX
Hi Veronica :-D from Spring until mid Fall I water them when the soil is dry and then wait until the soil is dry again before watering them :-D I keep them mostly dry during the Winter and only water when they start to shrivel :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from the Emerald Isle XXXXX
how bright light do you grow your seeds in? I've sown some very recently using the bag method and had them with bottom heat to speed up their germination. they've now germinate but I'm not sure where to put them: the greenhouse, east facing window or otherwise.
+ToadyBloyster Thanks so much for your wonderful comment :-) well done on getting your seeds to germinate, because they are still young I would place them in a spot that gets some sun but not all day intense sunshine, so I would avoid placing the directly in a hot sunny all day sunshine window such as a south facing one until they get much larger, and an east or west facing window that gets some sun but not all day sun would be perfect for them until they get larger and then you can move them to a sunnier spot such as a South facing window :-) if you only have a south facing window or a window or a position in the greenhouse that gets all day sun, then you could cover the seedlings with a shade cloth so they get filtered sunlight and this would work perfectly well for them too :-) Sending you an abundance of love and happiness and heaps of happy growing from Ireland and have a WONDERFUL Wednesday XXXXX

+Kid Vs World Thanks so much for your fantastic comment Aaron :-) I am so pleased to have been able to get them out of their pots at long last :-) the little round ones are Lophophora williamsii also known as 'Peyote' but sadly they are banned in many countries because they contain an alkaloid in their skin called 'mescaline' that is a drug if ingested, which is a shame as they are wonderful plants to grow :-) thanks so much for watching and Sending you an abundance of love and happiness and heaps of happy growing from Ireland to Canada and have a WONDERFUL Wednesday XXXXX
+Desert Plants of Avalon oh that's too bad. they are very cool plants, it's surprising they would ban a plant! never heard of that before, lol thanks. do they flower? and those cactuses grew so fast!
Kid Vs World Hi Aaron :-) yes they flower and the flowers are the cutest size and a wonderful pink color, I have one coming into bud at the moment too and will make a vid when it flowers in the coming days :-) Have a brilliant afternoon XXXXXX :-)
I've seen people use the sun to pasteurize substrate for mushrooms, I'm sure you could do it the same way...even a clear plastic bag in the strong sun for a day of two should do it.

Great hand you have!
How do you prevent mold and algae grow in your seedling container?
Kind regards:D
Hi Francois :-D if I see any signs of mold or Algae i very gently scrape it off with a very fine brush or fork and then sprinkle some sharp horticultural sand over the top and this helps to prevent it coming back again, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Tuesday XXXX

Looking good, decided I am going to start my collection from seed and see how I get on!! What is the best month to sow the seeds in my polytunnel

I've had hit and miss germination results even inside the same baggie- (although the planting mediums might have been different)
Even your mold looks cute!
Great results Lyn. I don't think I could grow cacti because I couldn't pronounce the names ;-) TFS. Best wishes Bob.
+Bob Lt (BobMel's Gardening) haha! Bob I am a disaster at pronouncing their names too, I haven't got a clue and most of the names are real tongue twisters haha! Thanks so much for your fantastic comment and for watching Bob and Sending you an abundance of love and happiness from Ireland and have a WONDERFUL Wednesday XXXXX
So happy you find my videos inspiring and thank you so much for watching them
@@desertplantsofavalon Thank you so much !
I think Burlap in your country may be called either Hessian or Jute.
I wish I could grow Lophophora williamsii without the fear of going to jail
@@desertplantsofavalon Thank you!
The seedlings are big for just "one year old". Impressive.

+Desert Plants of Avalon I can imagine! It will be so fun to watch them now as they grow and change in their little trays. :)
Thanks so much Lynn. Do you ever get mold growth and need to use fungicide at all over the year your cactus are in the bag?
Thank you so much as always you are a massive help ! Was a bit worried about my seedlings as I only have six !
JC GUZMÁN Good Luck with growing them :-) I bet they will grow really well for you :-) XXXX

i have to admit I've been wanting Peniocereus greggii seeds for a while. Do you sell? ill pay. just recently germinated my Kakteensamen mixed in 1 week. i'm a cacti daddy lol. So fun and rewarding too x

Very nice peyote's!
So adorable!!!!
They are cuties :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful Wednesday XXXX
Does that mean that you could take those same young plans and have done the same thing with a terrarium environment?
Hi Trinell :-D because cacti need a drier air environment around them a terrarium would cause to much air humidity for cactus and cactus seedlings and this could cause fungus and rot issues on their stems, thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful Wednesday XXXX
Hi Lynn! tell me something.. after you remove the plastic bag how you water seedlings? from below or mist? and how often?? Thank you dear!
Hi there :-D once the bag is removed and the seedlings are starting to take more of a shape you can allow the soil to dry out slightly in between waterings, but don't allow the soil to dry out completely as they will be still forming their root systems, just allow the very top part of the soil about half a cm down in the soil to dry out before watering again, thanks so much for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from the Emerald Isle for a terrific Tuesday ahead XXXX

when you planted the Lophophora williamsii seeds, how many were placed? was each bulb a seed? also are these legal in Canada?
Looking great! The peyote look like tiny buttons! So cool, but illegal in the U.S.
What kind of cacti do you think is best to grow from seed for beginners? I am in the US
Hi Alexys :-D The best Cacti to start off with growing from seeds would be the Mammillaria varieties and also the Echinopsis varieties :-D they are brilliant to grow from seeds and I would definitely start off with growing these first, Good luck with growing from seed its so much fun and very rewarding to do
This is sooo happy ^v^
Thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and heaps of happiness from right across the Emerald Isle for a brilliant new week ahead XXXXX
^^
+Desert Plants of Avalon yes thank u lyn
@@desertplantsofavalon thanks!. Also do you have videos on the cincerea? There doesnt seem to be much on youtube about it?
@@claudekim7876 I haven't got any videos on the Cincerea, so sorry I haven't got nay of these plants myself but on my future wish list haha XXXX
Thank you for responding, Have a great day :-)
And I'm pretty sure where I'm from there are no retailers that sell John innes soil. :(
+Joe Walawender John innes is difficult to find especially outside of the UK and Ireland, but if you can use another compost that is mostly soil based rather than peat based then this should work in the same way :-) thanks so much for watching Joe and good luck with growing and sending an abundance of love and happiness from Ireland XXXXX
Just started growing what I thought to be San Pedro cacti from seed, although the sprouts don't look like San Pedro.. does anyone have any young Pedro baby pictures I can compare with?
soooo cute Lyn :)
+Suzie Charles Thanks so much for your fantastic comment Suzie :-) I am so pleased I have got them out their bags at last, they are so cute with their little spines :-) thanks so much for watching and Sending you an abundance of love and happiness from Ireland and have a WONDERFUL Wednesday XXXXX
i want tobe like you any idea where to start?
How often do you water the little ones since you took them out of the bag
@Desert plants of avalon
+ToadyBloyster Thanks so much for your wonderful comment :-) well done on getting your seeds to germinate, because they are still young I would place them in a spot that gets some sun but not all day intense sunshine, so I would avoid placing the directly in a hot sunny all day sunshine window such as a south facing one until they get much larger, and an east or west facing window that gets some sun but not all day sun would be perfect for them until they get larger and then you can move them to a sunnier spot such as a South facing window :-) if you only have a south facing window or a window or a position in the greenhouse that gets all day sun, then you could cover the seedlings with a shade cloth so they get filtered sunlight and this would work perfectly well for them too :-) Sending you an abundance of love and happiness and heaps of happy growing from Ireland and have a WONDERFUL Wednesday XXXXX
do you have an email? i have been considering beginning to grow cacti and succulents for a few months and would love some pointers on how to start!
Hi there :-) unfortunately due to time restraints I am unable to answer with emails but I here is a link to my website that goes into lots of detail on how to grow and care for cacti and succulents :-) www.desertplantsofavalon.com/ sending you tons of love and heaps of happiness and happy growing from Ireland and have a brilliant Thursday ahead XXXX

wow! I love those round ones in the circle pot, what are they? and please check out my listia kidvsworld, and share it with some people please.
Kid Vs World Hi Aaron :-) yes they flower and the flowers are the cutest size and a wonderful pink color, I have one coming into bud at the moment too and will make a vid when it flowers in the coming days :-) Have a brilliant afternoon XXXXXX :-)
it is okay if you doesn't put the soil in the microwave?, because I don't have a microwave
I've seen people use the sun to pasteurize substrate for mushrooms, I'm sure you could do it the same way...even a clear plastic bag in the strong sun for a day of two should do it.
