I actually watched your videos last year and I am now working as a PA for Live Nation at the Warner Theatre in DC. A lot of the things you said make sense now that I have a year under my belt as a PA. You have to take initiative, think ahead and just make sure that things run smoothly during the production. I worked several concerts and comedy shows, it’s been a rewarding experience to me.

can you talk more about as a PA the most efficient way to hold all of your gear, in the most efficient ways possible? like always have lots of pockets, but in terms of things like, lanyards, belts, heck, how do you have your surveillance mic set up? where do you have them clipped specifically? some people have the wire going in the back of their shirt, with the ear piece coming up through the open neck hole, some have the whole wire hanging out in front of their shirt entirely. it can be a hassle to handle everything like when you have to go to the bathroom or something (TMI but seriously, like, when you have to pull your pants down to use the rest room. that can pull or unclip stuff accidentally and it can get messy/tangled). im still trying to find my own routine! maybe you could do a video demonstrating your set up. im learning having a belt SEPARATE from your pants is pretty efficient. small micro-management things like that! thanks!

Hey! I found a Fanny pack or a pocket clip pouch work great. I always had my walkie clipped to my back pocket or waistband. As far as the earpiece wire, I always liked having it run up my back and come out my collar but everyone’s preference is different. For the bathroom, I recommend unplugging your walkie haha. Hope that helps!

Is there training on film sets for first time P.A.s? Or it's about learning as you go?

Not necessarily “training”. Sometimes they will do a meeting to give you a rundown of what to expect for the day and what you should focus on/what your role is. But I have worked on sets were the greener PAs get a quick explanation of their duties so they know what to do.
