From reading thousands of comments about Air Force jobs, it does seem to be one of the coolest ones out there, but only for a fraction of time. Sure, nothing beats the feeling of taking off in a 60 million $ aircraft for the first time, but after you do it for a lot of times, the fantasy and thrill slowly fade away while you get confronted with more severe chronic back and neck pain, being stuck in a chair for hours on end without the possibility of getting up and stretching your legs. You also have to give away any semblance of personal life in order to reach that status. It's the biggest sacrifice on your social and physical health and in return you only get a thrill that's like drugs, eventually it stops feeling as intense as it did the first time. While I'm also jealous of not making that sacrifice, I have a wife I love and an easy job/life and I know I wouldn't have had either of those if I pursued being an airforce pilot. Might still consider being a civilian pilot but even that strips away your possibility of having a normal relationship because you're away all the time.
