I just read Daniel's comment of 4 years ago about Judith being more beautiful than all 3 of the Kardashians put together, even without makeup! I just have to say Ditto! I remember Judith mentioning in an interview that she had insecurities about her physical appearance during those early years. To me, Judith looked like "the girl next door" - she being real, special, lovely, & even talented, a regular girl I'd like to go have a burger and pop drink with. - not one of those emaciated, too tall & skinny, airbrushed super models living in the clouds, but a normal girl who lives on the same planet as the rest of us. My male friends told me that her special beauty, smile & physical appearance was the epitome of the type of girl they were most interested in, especially when they finally became serious, and looking for that special one that they'd want to keep forever. The 3 guys I'm thinking of, to their credit, did just that. They're joyfully married to 3 of the most beautiful, in their husband's eyes (which is all that counts) young women, all from places next door, who just light up my friend's lives.
OMG I cannot believe I'm just now discovering this group and the incredible Judith. Her voice is angelic. Gives me goosebumps when she hits those high notes. Plus she is gorgeous.
Crap sound obviously, but you must be referring to an original mix (hopefully stereo). Do you have a reference to that? I am a big Seekers / Judith fan.
Yes! And to think she thought of herself as not being attractive! Listen to her interviews and you will be astounded by the self doubt she was going through at the time. For some reason, they turned down the opportunity to perform Georgie Girl at the 39th Annual Academy Awards on April 10, 1967 when all of Hollywood and over 22 million television viewers would have seen Judith Durham for the first time and literally fallen in love with her. This was a missed opportunity of the highest magnitude and could have launched their stalling career into a much higher orbit of activity with performance offers and songwriters composing songs expressly for them to sing like Paul Simon already had done the year before with his classic tune "Someday One Day" they successfully recorded. The Bee Gees had just come to the U.S. and upon arrival wrote the song Massachusetts expressly for The Seekers, but somehow couldn't get in touch with them to submit it for their evaluation. The Bee Gees decided to record the song themselves in 1967 and it was a huge hit. Had The Seekers recorded Massachusetts in 1967, they would have made a profound and permanent connection with the U.S. audience and market. As it stands now, Americans remember the song Georgie Girl resoundingly, but they never had the chance to become enamored with or familiar with the members of the goup themselves.
This song reached the top of the charts in England, the U.S., and Australia well before 67. This is a documentary reenactment of that time. The Seekers' manager Eddie Jarrett "...was very UK-centric..." according to Keith Potger and in retrospect, The Seekers should have been touring the U.S. much earlier than they ended up doing in 1967.
When I first watched this on UA-cam in 2010, I was so taken by the beauty of the song and the closeup of Judith that I was beside myself with questions of why I hadn't known that much about this wonderful group above and beyond Georgy Girl. No other voice like hers!!! This song was done to perfection by The Seekers and no other group has dared to attempt doing a version of it. Judith had to wait until November of 1969 to experience the joy of a relationship she had only been singing about since childhood. This song was first released in December 1964 and I remember hearing it on my parents' car radio back then when I was barely 11. But I didn't know for all these years it was the same voice of the girl who sang Georgy Girl who also sang this song. The same thing holds true for A World Of Our Own. I have no memory of ever hearing Someday One Day back in the 60's, but now I listen to it all the time. I love all kinds of QUALITY music and pride myself in the variety of artists I like, but I have scolded myself a number of times for not having found out more of this fine group sooner. I encourage eveyone to explore the music and music videos available on UA-cam involving The Seekers. Definitely a rewarding process!
softclay4thought I am only two years older than you and I have the memory of visiting my Aunties sheep station and listening to this on my new transistor radio. It's a pity you missed so much of the rest of their music back then as it seems to have a greater effect on me as a memory of that period in my life. Their music has that effect, it is odd though that you didn't connect the other song's with this as the sound of them is so unique.

"There's a new world somewhere They call the promised land And I'll be there someday If you will hold my hand I still need you there beside me No matter what I do For I know I'll never find another you There is always someone For each of us, they say And you'll be my someone Forever and a day I could search the whole world over Until my life is through But I know I'll never find another you It's a long, long journey So stay by my side When I walk through the storm You'll be my guide, be my guide If they gave me a fortune My pleasure would be small I could lose it all tomorrow And never mind at all But if I should lose your love, dear I don't know what I'd do For I know I'll never find another you But if I should lose your love, dear I don't know what I'd do For I know I'll never find another you Another you Another you..." For anyone who likes singing along ;-j
Back in the day when bands were trying to change the world and be political, there was a band called The Seekers who reminded us that music was about good songs, singing well and joy and happiness.
The seekers sang quite many songs which had social/political meanings, but they were not agitators - in fact, they were quite reserved on that , compared with other fellows of this time. They also kept their private lifes their own business most of the time
The Seekers recorded Blowin in the Wind, The Times They are a Changin, Kumbaya, What Have they Done to the Rain, This land is your Land and a number of other folk standards. Good songs that they sang very well. The drew their inspiration from the blacklisted left-wing American folk group The Weavers. Judith wrote moving tributes to Mary Travers and Ronnie Gilbert when they died. The Seekers were not as non-political as many think.
When Judith starts singing , even the angels stop and listen . Judith is even more beautiful to me now , after knowing her personal trials she experienced in her youth . Judith , how could you not have known you were beautiful and loved by everyone ? So glad that you and The Seekers were , still are , and will always be a part of my life . Best singer ever !
To my dear Helen Schmidt Peacock, who passed away too soon last August: I know I’ll never find another you. That becomes more evident with every passing day.

I can't sing...so I know when someone can!
😂
My teenage years and what a far more sensible time. PS I’m positive I’m a worse singer than you
OMG I cannot believe I'm just now discovering this group and the incredible Judith. Her voice is angelic. Gives me goosebumps when she hits those high notes. Plus she is gorgeous.
Yes indeed! Australia has produced three of my favorite things in life; Foster's Lager, AC/DC and Judith Durham and the Seekers!
Long live the Seeker Judith Best natural voice ever. Love you. XX
Just imagine all the other good stuff out there waiting for you...
Saw them live back in 2013. She had just gotten over her brain aneurism. She sounded as good as ever. No vocal gymnastics, just pure singing.
News today that Judy has passed on. Don't be sad that she's gone, be happy she left us this legacy.
To my dear Mary, who passed away too soon last August: I know I’ll never find another you. That becomes more evident with every passing day.
Sorry.❤🇦🇺
I also recently lost my mom and daughter ironically three years apart but on the same date APRIL 12 , 2021 and 2024….❤❤❤❤
Fabulous, beautiful. Even now, 5th August, 2019, absolutely stunning, absolutely memorable!.
Crap sound obviously, but you must be referring to an original mix (hopefully stereo). Do you have a reference to that? I am a big Seekers / Judith fan.
Stuart Garfatth ...and even now, May 10, 2020
Judith is so, so pretty, & her voice has got to be among the best ever recorded !
I agree 100%. I saw her and the Seekers on a video with Andre Rieu at one of his concerts around 2010 and she is just as perfect now as she ever was.
The timbre of her voice is so perfect, and she never loses it. I remember this from their first big album-1964 or 1965, I think.
Music from 60s,and 70s is the best there ever will be. And this song proves my point... life is so beautiful today.. enjoy life to the fullest...
Rest In Peace, Judith Durham- a major part of quality music left us when you did.
There will never be another Judith. What a voice?
This was a magical time in history of American music. My wife use to get on my case for listening to earlier music. I say a thing of beauty is a joy forever.
you mean "popular music."
World music ,or easier to say just Music c;
Typical American thinking the world revolves around the USA, they are an Australian group.
No autotune. No special effects. Not studio tricks. Just raw talent.
I was recently on holiday in Ireland and was completely unaware of Judith's passing until about a week after I got home. R.I.P. Judith Durham 💔. We'll never find another you.
Judith's voice is so hauntingly beautiful. Indeed, there will never be another like her.
This song is so beautiful I love the seekers and Judith durram so beautiful brings back memories of me and my wife when we young omg rip Judith so brilliant ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Two guitars a bass and a voice out of this world that's all there was to the seekers ! What a loss we have suffered !
LOVED JUDITH DURHAM AND STILL DO A VOICE OF AN ANGEL AND BEAUTIFUL AS WELL DIDN'T NEED TO BE HALF NAKED SHE HAD CLASS REAL CLASS SHE IS FANTASTIC AND ALWAYS WILL BE.

Ditto!!!!!!!
+23theseeker Where has music gone these days? :-)
Video killed the radio star.
23theseeker Absolutely awesome voice and very pretty
@@brycecordry6153 all we hear is radio gaga, radio googoo, radio gaga
One of the greatest songs of the 60s. Still great 60 years later.
Great song, words and music. Judith has amazing voice - RIP. We will never find another you! Thank you!!!!
The song reminds me of my wife of eighteen months whom I lost to breast cancer in September of 2004. I know I will never find another like her. Rest well my darling. My Annabel Lee. Rest well.
So very sorry
Annabel Lee, wonderful metaphor for a sad thing. Sounds like she was loved.
I'm so sorry to hear that.
Thomas, my wife was going through the same thing at the same time, she made it through but I know I would never had found another her. It was have finished me so well done you and please accept my condolences.
i was 16 when this was on WLS in Chicago in 1965. We baby boomers are inexorably aging, but this tune, and for that matter The Seekers, remain timeless.
bernie cahane The Seekers are regarded as a national treasure to us Australian boomers.
I couldn't agree more.
Voice is clear as a bell. One of the best songs ever.
I was a toddler when this came out yet I can clearly remember watching the Farewell Concert with my family and my parents being upset. They were so loved and so special.
Thank you Lord for whom ever gave us Utube. This soooooo beats anything out there today.
THANK YOU
I was a little kid when the Seekers were at their peak, wow do they bring back great memories of childhood and the times we were in, each generation has some progression in music, the 60’s probably had the most, and the best.
RIP Judith, you were a powerhouse!
Proof that a World needs a Single Person who is Strong and Intelligent in all the Fields or Categories
Oh, the song & harmony reminds me of the young, callow days and makes eyes wet.
Judith's voice can transport me back to the 60s like no other, It's like going back to childhood in a time machine. Beautiful song and wonderful group.
She had the same remarkable voice in her 60s as she had at 18
Pure class ,harmonies incredible.
With all their equipment they have now they still can’t record something as well done as this beautiful song.
Of course they can. Even better, except for the invisible percussion player, I must say. 😀 Don‘t forget, music is not a competition.
the reason why it sounds so good, you have real musical instruments, with real musicians making it all come to "LIFE"!!!. it was all done without computers, or drum machines!!!!. good tunes never get old, I was7 years old when this tune hit the air waves, and I still like to hear it, I have yet to get tired of it. this tune has stood the test of time!!!!. I will say one thing, JUDY DURHAM" has really got a set of "PIPES" on her, she really made that tune come to life!!!!
@@gregoryclemen1870 yes she has some kind of wonderful magic that is not only timeless but is also spiked with perfection
I never get tired of hearing this song. Great job.
Fantastic song, I had the privilege of meeting the Seekers in Auckland, New Zealand in 1974, they were great - go Aussies...
I was born in 1965, I must have been attracted to good music even before I was born.
Snap. Same year as me and I love this music.
Best folk group ever? Yes I think so! Judith Durham's voice makes my eyes water! Exceptional music.
Absolutely Brilliant. Love them all.x.
Same here, pity we cant see them as they were in 1968 live
People say that about my voice, too...
Robert Stevens Folk Music! That is it! The type. In the era of Peter, Paul and Mary. Thanks.

Never can get enough of the Beautiful music the sing. Loved them in the 60s, still love them in 2021. Fan Forever
She was my all-time favorite female singer. Love that voice !!!
Miss Durham has not just a female voice, she has that is spades, but also the very voice of an angel. What a gift!
"There's a new world somewhere
They call the promised land
And I'll be there someday
If you will hold my hand
I still need you there beside me
No matter what I do
For I know I'll never find another you
There is always someone
For each of us, they say
And you'll be my someone
Forever and a day
I could search the whole world over
Until my life is through
But I know I'll never find another you
It's a long, long journey
So stay by my side
When I walk through the storm
You'll be my guide, be my guide
If they gave me a fortune
My pleasure would be small
I could lose it all tomorrow
And never mind at all
But if I should lose your love, dear
I don't know what I'd do
For I know I'll never find another you
But if I should lose your love, dear
I don't know what I'd do
For I know I'll never find another you
Another you
Another you..."
For anyone who likes singing along ;-j
w2gggggg fen i wish i could sing sighs lol
Thank you for writing these lovely lyrics down.👍🏻
@@karstenpost1477 Thank you ;-j
Who is the best female singer of all time ? ...........You've just heard her.
Back in the day when bands were trying to change the world and be political, there was a band called The Seekers who reminded us that music was about good songs, singing well and joy and happiness.
+Pax Tecum The 1960's.
+Pax Tecum The OLD days. lol
The seekers sang quite many songs which had social/political meanings, but they were not agitators - in fact, they were quite reserved on that , compared with other fellows of this time. They also kept their private lifes their own business most of the time
Boy, no kidding! What a beautiful song...
These are classic songs that stand the test of time.
Good-bye, Judith. There'll never be another you.
I've loved that song since I heard Sonny James sing it over fifty years ago
Thank you for creating and singing this beautiful song😃
To my dear Helen Schmidt Peacock, who passed away too soon last August: I know I’ll never find another you. That becomes more evident with every passing day.
Bless you sir.
They talking about brightness in music. This is one of the brightest songs ever recorded.
Good morning my friends
Who is still alive and listening to this music in December 19 of 2024 to
RIP our angel voice Judith Durham to
It would be impossible for Judith Duram to look any cuter than she does in this video 💝❤️
RIP Judith! Teach the angels to sing!
This voice takes me back so far that it hurts. There will never be another voice or sound like this. Never.
This has to be one of the greatest love songs ever. Wonderful!
