Glad to see you back Amanda. I value everything you have to teach us. I love antiques and buying. Don't have a booth, but I enjoy the whole process. Buying and styling antique and vintage finds are my favorite things to watch.
Also, $800 for a three day event is not bad - that’s only $267/day!

As an antique lover, I adore your videos and adventures. I never ask for a price reduction, I would never do that at a store so I would never ask an individual or small business owner. I am happy to gain a treasure and pay whatever price they list. And thank you for bringing up your 2 cents on taking pictures, I usually am sharing with my mom or hubby or . . the local following I have to let them know about a business. If I am asked to not, I just leave and delete the pic.
I never ask for price reduction either. I feel uncomfortable…I don’t ask Walmart for a price reduction so why would I a small business owner?
I agree. I never do either. I'd ask for a price reduction at a big box type store long before a small business owner. I understand this isn't a garage sale. It's someone trying to carve out a piece of their dream!

I agree with the spreading out. Let dealers use as much space as possible. It makes it look more retail like and not just boxy. And it’s more creative. Thanks for sharing!!
I would love to see you do projects on your house. I agree with you its so much work doing show so much cost and hanging on to stuff that does not sell gets hard you have to have a lot of storage.
Wow, Amanda... How could I be so dense?!? I've been watching you for over a year - since you came back and started posting regularly. I KNOW you are a realtor. I KNOW you live in the Staunton area. Thanks for being so transparent about all of these questions! As an antique collector, it’s always fun to learn about the other side of the process. I visited your booth earlier this year and made a video about it that just came out this weekend on my channel too!
I always try to ask when taking pics but you are spot on, I just find Markets to be totally inspirational and the eye candy is everywhere. I always say it is our "Super Bowl" and I love to take it all in and just savor my time there. Also, my opinion on why the Fall Market was so popular, it was a perfect storm of everyone ready to shop and spend and most importantly Santa!!!!

Always look forward to your videos! Such great tips. It drives me crazy how some people automatically assume the worst from someone taking a photo/video. I bet if the local paper wanted to shoot their booth for a story, they would be all in. 🤦♀️
Great info. I believe your channel has good growth potential. The main thing is consistency. You have to post a video a week to really stay in the algorithm and get good traction. In your case, I think doing something vlog style, 15-20 minutes of the most interesting things you did that week, blocking out an hour a week to edit it, and dropping once a week at a designated scheduled time will really help build the channel. Then, with any extra time, keep building these longer vids that take more time, research, etc, and drop them as you finish them. I wish you all the best. I'm self employed with multiple income streams, and I can say definitely, you can without a doubt make UA-cam a significant part of your income pie

I really enjoy your posting ! I have been collecting antiques for over 50 years . I collect Early American items . Now that l am 78 and l don’t get out that much to look for antiques ,but l enjoy watching watching what you pick . You have a great eye and you really enjoy what you are doing ! Keep up the wonderful work , so many of us enjoy it !

In regards to the question about people taking pictures in your booth, I know a lot of people who take pictures of everything they like on their first round through the store then look over the pictures and come back for the things they really liked on their second round.
Just wanted to say I love your videos. I love your straightforwardness but I also love your humor and it shows in your editing of your videos. For example the bloopers you choose to live in….And so sweet of Mike to be so patient , he’s a keeper
New subscriber and a long time dealer.booth renter. (20+ years) Love what you do but it is very different from my approach. I rarely have anything in my booth for less than $100.00. I always look at my "time" and what return I will get based on my time invested. Smalls for me to not provide me with the necessary financial return for the time invested. Often smalls take more of my time than large items. My best move was 10 years ago when I made a decision to sell things totally different from what everyone else is selling. My booth has become know for all its unusual, odd and even weird stuff (the stranger the better). Wish you continued success.

@@amandasmercantile I have noticed the shopper looking more but not purchasing like they did a few months ago of course the fall season is almost here so we’ll see how the purchases will be then. Dealing in antiques for about 40 years I have changed some of my choices White black beige Wood-tones and items that can go in several parts of the home. I truly enjoy your channel It’s always good for a old dog to learn new tricks :) I know it is hard for you subscribers, but thank you for not telling how much you make!!!!!!

Please, please come to Jacksonville Fl. I would be sooooooo excited. While here, you need to go to Eco Relics. You’d go crazy in there! It’s a huge warehouse of stuff torn down from huge homes and buildings. Tons of antiques, unique pieces of everything!!!

As an ARTIST who creates all that I sell...NO. I don't want anyone to start "clicking away"....BUT, if someone has the manners to ask me...and explain why...I APPRECIATE that.....it's different. I'm always asked to sell my displays as well...I take that as a compliment..📿
Do you have an online store? If so your product images are already available to the entire world so I'm not sure why people taking photos would be an issue.

I have never done a “Antique Show”. I do however have a Booth in a Local Antique Mall. The Biggest Problem with the Booth rental is the VERY Small Size. The Booths are 4 ft wide x 2 ft deep 😱. It makes EVERYTHING SO DIFFICULT. I HAVE SOO MANY IDEAS ON HOW I WANT TO STYLE A BOOTH BUT I HAVE NO SPACE TO DO ANYTHING!!! ITS SOO FRUSTRATING. I WISH I HAD A 10 X 20. THAT WOULD GIVE ME ENOUGH SPACE TO BRING SOME FURNITURE IN & SOME GLASS DISPLAY CABINETS FOR ALL OF MY MURANO, BLANKO, VIKING, WESTMORELAND, ART GLASS. I NEED THOSE HIGH DOLLAR ITEMS TO BE BEHIND GLASS & LOCKED 🔒 EVEN WITH CAMERA’S THINGS SEEM TO JUST WALK AWAY. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR ADVICE 😁 ITS. VERY HELPFUL 👍 👍

You would do amazing with a garden and UA-cam. Look up a girl on UA-cam named Becky. "Acre homestead" she's a go getter just like you, only towards growing and preserving food. She was able to quit her dental hygienic job because her UA-cam exploded .... she's Also doing home improvement projects because she and her hubby just bought a different house.... just a thought...especially since the Real estate market is going to slow way down.... .❤❤❤❤👍👍👍
