You gotta try Edge of Tomorrow w/Tom Cruise. In the intro, there are some loud and low bass notes. It's killer, so be careful! 😁

Thanks. While I haven’t used the opening scene in “movies with extreme bass” series, I did do a couple of shorts with that scene. Here is one of them:

So if the baseline audio is at 65dB which makes the LFE channel 75dB, how do you get 105dB output? My understanding is that the dynamic range of movie tracks was limited to "baseline plus 20dB" for peaks, which would only be 95dB. In a previous video you said you had DynamicEQ disabled, so do you have a custom PEQ curve boosting it and/or have the subwoofer levels manually increased in the AVR and/or the subs themselves? Thanks!

I do not use a custom PEQ curve or Dynamic EQ. If you watch my other bass test videos you will notice that the SPL often reaches 100 db or above even with the volume set to -15 db on my Marantz.

@@magnoliamo that’s what got me confused. Can LFE levels have up to +30dB peaks not including the built-in LFE channel boost of +10? That’s what it seems like if your LCR are set to 65dB or so.

@chrislukowski1825 I’m not sure. Maybe that is the case. I’m just showing the output and the bass response at my normal listening levels without any DEQ or any custom PEQ or house curves.
