  • Really like this type of milling vise for the Shaublin 13(not too much room on the Z axis) but couldn't find any here so i decided to build one.
Hope you guys enjoy the video. As always, thanks for watching!

Proof that there are “young” old school craftsman still out there. How about you make a short biography video, showing your town, job and neighborhood, as well as where you learned such fine skills? Precision knows no geographical boundaries. Your videography is on par with your machining as well.

My great grandfather was into machining and building complex tools (he even build gears with helical gearing). After the GI's took over Germany, he repaired Jeeps and constructed machines for them. Still I have so much stuff around, he worked with and what he created (even hand drawn construction plans!). Now seeing how beautiful it is to be able to use this and build your own tools and machinery - I want to get into it! Please show more!

To be real, there are commercial vises out there with pull down jaws, and to the same standard of excellence. eg. Image-Google Gerardi. But this is made in a (admittedly well-equipped) home workshop, by a young enthusiast of excellence.
Saying "I could also do that, if I had these machines" is like saying "Now that I've got my diving licence, I could win races like Schumacher, if I had the Ferrari.."
And who cares how long it took him to complete it?
Not everything should be measured by a clock ticking off Dollars. If Michelangelo worked for Wall Street money grubbers, we'd never have had the priceless art that he's left us with.

I keep thinking that I can do all that but in my heart, I know the difference between a not bad hobbyist and someone skilled and gifted as you certainly are. I too hope TOT sees this.

plepgeat this is well done yes.. But making a vise like this is a regular machinist apprentice job here. So calm down. 😀 Adam isnt something completely amazing. Hes just a machinist filmning his stuff, - stuff that most in this trade does every day.. 😉

I'm a sucker for precision. I absolutely love this! Everything is so smooth and flat and true and parallel and square and other words
