I'm so confused.......I was following along and everything was going exactly how you have this....until making the snow sphere. Once I made that, not even attached anything yet, all the snow effect dissapeared and won't come back. Now the entire mesh is just missing unless I remove the geometry nodes and it re appears but obviously with no snow.

Never mind........apparently Blender bug, it crashed shortly after, and when I reloaded, it was all working.
