    Sick vid! I'm an engineer in Toronto and work with a lot of rappers in our city, including the ovo camp. That being said, the Milab vip-60 is the superior mic. There's only 5 in the city including theirs. That mic is absolutely GOD TIER. Sounds as good as a C800 without the tag. There's only one Canadian distributor in Whitby, Ontario and it's almost a gatekept mic. You don't see a lot of Toronto engineers talking about them.

      Do you know what chain most people use for this mic? Also it seems like it’s the VIP-50 is what they use which is the older model with the 2700 capsule instead of the 2900 capsule. This mic is dope and sounds quite a bit different from a C800G from what I’ve heard so far!

      Jaycen Joshua is probably the worst Mixing Engineer to be "inspired" by or study. There's a reason top mixing engineers like Mike Dean and Josh Gudwin don't really f with him. Specially Mike Dean lmao. Now if George could do a video on Stuart White, that's another story.

    • @legacybge
      @legacybge 8 місяців тому

      @@sfilipee I'm curious what do you dislike about Jaycen. He's considered one of the best in the entire industry, and look at most hit songs on the charts, majority of songs have been mixed by him. I've watched his mixing techniques and videos. However, (on to your point). I HAVE noticed from watching him, he comes across as extremely cocky/arrogant about the extent of his knowledge, doesn't seem to "listen" to others, but uses it as a trampoline to launch off into his expertise. I think he may be a very hard working, talented engineer. But personality helps, hence why most people f with mike dean and josh.. they aren't a'holes but instead WORK with a'holes lol. therefore at this point in their careers, they decide who to work with. Industry is full of ego driven douches, it's nice to see humble artists, engineers, producers, etc

    Great video but trying to emulate someone like drake is pointless. Drake team is relatively unknown because they are masters at their craft. In years to come we will study the techniques of his engineering team. My recommendation to artist is to just make a good song. Mixing at this level cannot be understood by mortals. Don’t even try because you won’t get it.

      aGRRED. So much out-sourcing available now to get done by industry level engineers. Artist should focus on the music, not the technicality. Even their notes to the engineers should be focused towards the music, not what plUGiN will you use on my VOcAls
