40 as a producer is dope cuz he managed to make this type of atmospheric spacey sound somehow work with rap music. In the 90's or 2000's it probably would've been looked at as some weird alternative shit, but him and Drake made it cool and it resonated with the new generation. His beats takes me places especially the Lust for Life beat and the intro and outro to Paris Morton.
Fireworks intro is great too
Headlines outro too 😮💨😮💨
It all started with So Far Gone 💯
even house of balloons was influenced by 40s atmospheric rap/r&b blend
The intro and outro to Paris Morton is an one-of-a-kind vibe.

Drake is all time but 40 is at least half the reason - totally unique sound that’s now recognizable

@@LoveStarRecords 50/50 don't hate & discredit drake. 40 himself said drake is the reason while drake credits 40. 40 worked with many upcoming rappers before he met drake and NOTHING came of it...if 40 never met drake he wouldn't be where he's at...vice versa.
@@db4695 89% due to your response.
Why do think Drake still has him around?
40 is also a phenomenal pianist… I think it’s why so much of his music has such a unique shape to it. All of those melodies and chord progressions we hear and love come from his flexibility as an actual pianist.. he’s one of my favorite producers and as I listen to his work more I think this is why.
His passion has never dwindled. He is still as enthusiastic as he was when he first began. He was born for this. One in a million kind of guy.
Billion
Facts. He accomplished all this WITH M.S. Such a fuckin inspiration man frfr. Makes me regret droppin outta high school & not pursuing music in college like I wanted too..
Can't say the same for Drake tho. His passion is obsolete. Now it's just pure ego.
@@hsojettedrub3821 500+ Million dollars and everyone worshipping you tends to have that effect on people.
40’s production style is wicked. Dudes a legend
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
"I don't care if your speakers can reproduce it...those harmonics seep in, you feel it in your hearth"
That is just gold.
also completely fucking incorrect. If you want people to actually feel it, you need to apply saturation calculated ocatves upwards.
@@noname-ng6sj idk anything about production but I'm gonna trust 40 on this
no name 40 > you
@@noname-ng6sj Bullshit mate your are totally wrong that 30/40 hz hes talking about is the low end only club sound systems can reproduce and if you haven't ever been raving/clubbing you wouldn't know that that bass you feel shakes your ribs and insides thus him describing feeling it in your heart is spot on ...numb nuts haha 🤨🥱
@@a.d.the.4mvla43 that’s wrong too. Your experience at a rave doesn’t pick up extra frequencies it’s just louder there.
No gatekeeping. Just real advice, and humility coming through. Much appreciated
That Manifest Document idea for every preset is such a fire idea! 🔥 Great job 40!
It really is!
Ditto! I wish many others would use this idea/initiative in documenting such in support of their customer base.
Where do I find it?
@@louie1litk619 it's under the AT A GLANCE section on the 40'S VERY OWN KEYS product page: www.native-instruments.com/products/komplete/play-series/40s-very-own-keys/ and comes with the installation as well.
I think 40 is the reason I keep coming back to drakes discography no matter how much time has past.
Lets be real you know 40 is respected heavily when nobody is commenting on his new hair and its all about his music
Just now realized that man got a nick wright head of hair goin on
@@user-th6rh8zp3t 40 changed the game 10 years a go by removing the mids out the beat instrumental creating huge space for the vocals to shine on.✌🏽

40 looking healthier. Good to see he's recovering. Full head of hair and everything
He was bald by choice lol.. the MS didn’t effect his hair

💯💯💯👍🏿👍🏿
Never thought I’d see 40 in his chair showing us insights and giving us inspiration, thank you sir. 🙏🏽🇨🇦🇲🇽🇨🇦
He does. Just not all the time
Did sound Engineering at college, didn’t do anything with the qualification as got a ‘job’ got married & had kids. Maybe it’s time to reconnect. This vid gives me inspiration. ✌🏻🇬🇧💙
Why didn’t you do anything with the qualification if you don’t mind me asking ?
@@eddiecardona1161 After college the next course ‘up’ was 2 or 3 years at uni but I bought a house so had to get a job rather than carry on with education. I was really good at it too, we mainly used Cubase & a keyboard but I made some good tracks, we recorded onto minidisc lol. 👍🏻🇬🇧
Let us know when you drop something.
DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I haven't locked the phone 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love how he’s styled the manifest document to looks like the README files that would’ve come with cracked software and torrents back in the day
feels full circle having seen the initial video that 40 did with NI, and now producers and artists have access to creativity handcrafted by the man himself. more life. 🌺
Feels good 🙏
right. I bought so much from NI back in the day based off his word alone. That past journey means so much to me now. Thanks to 40 and NI for the memories.
Big fan of this mans music but a huge fan of his character and how he has handled his (well deserved) success.
Im curious to know what that is? He seems humble.

best comment. modeled character
I can’t tell you how many beats of my own for my albums that 40 has inspired. Been awe-struck by his production for almost 15 years now.
The way this dude describes everything is perfect, he really has the complete dimensional understanding of this area of producing and its fkn crazy
Nothing best that being an house Producer, developping and crafting the sonic universe of the Artist, you become part of his sounds.
As a artist producer engineer myself I have to say I am honored to have embraced this guy’s technique in how he uses sound and frequency I love to collect sounds and use different sources heck I’ve made a record out of a Nintendo switch using Korg gadget, and pro tools it’s just how you use the sources you have and this guy is the best example of that he literally took the sound of distortion to a whole new level he change the game when he came I’ve always started with the sounds first lol
The genius behind Drake. Amazing gifted Noah "40" Shebib
This video is mind blowing for me. As an artist I often feel limited by a finished instrumental. My story always felt like it had to fit in with a theme of someone else's creation. It feels like my time is already taken up as a vocalist by searching for inspiration, coming up with concepts, writing and editing, recording and producing my vocals. I know there's all type of kits available but truly my heart resonates with 40's Toronto sound.
It's one of the reasons I started to see music as a vehicle to hold a visualized space that I'd created with sound, as a stage to convey raw emotion just for me (and a hope that maybe other people would be transported too) because I want to exist in that space and I wasn't hearing it in music besides from 40/Drake.
This video showed me that not only can I achieve some of those sounds in my music, but I can DO IT MYSELF? Incredible. I am truly grateful for 40's contribution to music, it's had an effect on my life more than any other artist. Truly grateful, stay blessed.
40’s massive influence is undeniable. A true GOAT.
40 is what inspired me to make music
I have so much respect for this man ! He’s humble and I never see him overact on this craft. Respect, I will get this tools no because I need them just for 40, he deserve support for what it did for the music !
2:15 such a Drake outro type of Vibe 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh oh definitely on the list. Insightful and of course he added a manifest and his videos are always inspiring when you think of his success with simplicity and accessible tools.
Just copped the bundle! Thank you 40 blessing the producer community!
40 has that uncut gems Vibe lately.
that 40hz hes been talking about, for those who know they know, shit can touch your soul on a proper system
facts
🤤
I’m glad I got to appreciate and see 40’s value in the music industry!
This man is just too amazing. Been looking up to his production for years now. Have to get this.
Wishing 40 the best of health. He's one of my favorite producers ever. I honestly like the part where said he fucked up but he left it in the song because thats how he started.
Absolutely love this video. These are the videos I live for honestly lol. It’s casual, inspiring, and helps with creative blocks. Stirs up ideas and motivation. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you so much!!
Always loved 40 & his production style, super inspirational 💯✨🎹
There is no drake without 40
Facts
I think drake needs to team back up with his original producers from the take care era, the 40 era... Teaming with 40, boi-1da and T-Minus exclusively; would be a great sounding drake album...🤔👌
couldnt agree more
don't think he wants to go backwards in time musically. I know us as fans alright want thr earlier stuff but that music already exist
@@HB-ih9qp he defiantly needs to show the growth, I AGREE
its an art
I would love that myself. He could do it as a mixtape and it wouldnt hurt what he is doing right now as far as growth goes.
glad to see 40 looking good bro one the best to do it
Thank you 40...you inspired me so much over the years! I am getting the kit right after I finish this vid
Update 😮?
This video and these kits are treasures 🙏🏿🙏🏿🐐🐐🐐🐐Thanks NI!
40 is the kind of success story that encourages me as a underground artist with a small following. Seeing how he’s developed his skills and slowly blown up after seizing each and every opportunity he’s been giving has been inspirational! Mans has quickly become a mainstay in the industry and for good reason. Dude is too nice! I know if I put in the work, I can reach a larger audience some day too, but for now, I’m happy being a supporter. My turn will come too. Salute to 40🔥
Super walkthrough by 40 and 40's instruments are truly amazing and a great addition to NI's ecosystem. Thank you!
“Without 40, Oli', there'd be no me”
40 the reason Drake blew up the way he did.

Always inspired by you guys. I still watch 40's mini doc you guys did with him years ago when I need inspo ! Great job.
That is awesome!
Same here. I think I've watched the old one...probably 15 times now.

My mans really got that Uncut Gems look going on, I rate it
@4:09 I just love that beat, the melody just everything hopefully drake makes it into a song sounds like it could be a outro like do no disturb. 40 the goat‼️
Incredible!!! Some of those keys sounds are iconic. Beautiful work.

Love 40. He’s amazing 🎶🎵🎚🎚🎚
So much creativity and passion ingrained into this video 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
40 Shebib’s production always blows my mind. He’s a very talented musician and his production is the main reason why I listen to Drake
Tunes that take you to the sky and fireworks explode in mid air incredible...stress releasing
Best times to be Alive
Can't get over how good that beat around 4:03 sounds
That one and the one at around 10 with the bass, are literally interlude worthy
I used that sample and finished the beat and posted it on my channel! Lmk what you guys think
just saw this will do!@@joshf1etcher
40 is super talented and I love his sound and approach! The more I learn and progress though, I keep asking myself… Is it really hard to make your own sounds? I get so much more joy from making my own sounds and using them than buying someone else’s stuff, these days.
You can also make someone else sounds your own 😊
@@NativeInstruments 😊
Love it, that’s how I was taught to produce. My teacher was heavy dilla raised. Filter drums and baseline is always perfect for a verse, drop everything back in for the hook. By doing this you don’t just add sounds that don’t need to be there (overproduce). Anything else you can add after the vocals are laid. Less is more
I'm Hyped For This Pack!!
Amazing! 40 is incredible.
this guy just solidified the cheat code🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
he inspired my production a lot when i was in highschool in 2008 2009 made the sad ambient melodic lofi chill vibes popular in rap
it was about time for a new 40 interview and i definitely gotta tap in with this pack
40 x Drake is THE dynamic duo.
Wow crazy, 40 looks so different. That's dope!! 🔥
Sounds good, organic. Tell Drake he needs your production and my classic intel.
nice sounds i could see them in other genres other than trap and hip-hop and the manifest is awesome
Authentic and genuine 💎
Gave respect to the greats too. Much respect. Mans music is legit
Thank you native and 40 for this🤎
ANYTHING 40 touches is timeless…
Shout out to 40 - hands down the best and most humble producer

….The amount of game that was given in this video, thank you 40 🙏🏽
I always love and lived in the 30 hrz to the point it drop off. I started exploring the low and couldn't get it on tape when there wasn't cd yet. Lol.
Absolutely love this. Very very VERY informative

Wow. Thank you NI.
Daaaamn man, NI and 40 almost makes it too easy for all of us...I can never find a decent R&B or Trapsoul pads and or keys really but I guess the struggle is over! Less get it!!! ❤🔥
Sorry not sorry 😎
It’s a great time to be a musician with tools from NI
Haven't been excited for a Kontakt expansion in a while but this one I want this one
We'd be happy to hear any feedback 🙏
Thanks 40 will order this one i also like the notes on how to use certain presets much love form a maschine user 🙏🏾❤️

I like those drums sounds combination with keyboards 🎹 is dope.
