I can't wait til 40 makes a podcast to just geek out about gear and mixing.
or even a Twitch stream
I wish,He got so much to give.
@@supadave422 Nah, Twitch delegitamizes professionals IMO
@@marshallholland3070 No it doesn't that's all in your mind
@@supadave422 hahahahah exactly what i was gonna reply, literally doesnt make sense, if not Twitch and knowledge sharing just shows off thier knowledge and insane talent
40 looking super vibrant and healthy 🙏🏽
When pusha T disses you, he lowkey sending you good vibes under the table
i am a young artist with multiple sclerosis and i never really accepted that it changed me in anyway. To hear that 40 has MS and can be this successful without letting it hold him back is truly inspiring... Love
🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️👏🏾
Make sure to take alot of Vitamin d and exercise daily
@@krakapoww thank you🙏🏾
Woww I also have MS didn't know this about 40.
Respect for how he gave props to his mentor for 10 minutes straight, That was real honorable
The 48 laws of power: Law 1, never outshine the master.
@@SS-wd5sg ???
@@lasseyoyo5653 search it up
@@SS-wd5sg that seems stupid though, that means that with each generation, the student gets worse.
@@Thestoicrevolution-v5o it doesn’t mean in talent, it means in actions. Drake and lil Wayne are the best example. Drake doesn’t say “I’m better than lil Wayne” he says lil Wayne is the best artist ever and will be one of the biggest artists. Despite him being the biggest artist ever.
Thanks for wearing our shirt 40! 🙏🏽
dope!
💯💯💯need a T like this 👍

40 a living legend...he really don’t get the credit he deserve 🐐🐐🐐
@@ahki880 🙈
Facts hahahah
Best Producer of all time
Dave & Herb you guys are legends. Shoutout to 40 for passing down the knowledge!! 💿
I have no words for you guys. I cant describe. Just love! Thank you for this and all the great stuff!!! Please, never stop!! And Shebib is on my Top 3 Pensados Place! He`s so humble, simple, and honest with the knowledge. THANK YOU!!!!
40 sounding incredibly Canadian at times with the accent. 🇨🇦
This shows that it doesn’t matter the DAW, great music is produced anywhere.
Wdym? Does he use audacity?
Facts and some DAWS do things better than others. I strictly do everything in pro tools but that’s not how I started(FL, MASCHINE,MASCHINE+ PRO TOOLS, STRICTLY PRO TOOLS). An Engineer that I work on stuff with does majority of mix/ master in pro tools, then runs it through an ssl and does the final process on Logic Pro
@@bhaveshtochabbra6853 naw he was talking about gadget using nuendo..most people dont think nuendo 11 pro is amazing anymore for some reason or they think nuendo was discontinued for some strange reason but its top of the top
@@ILaxative
Nuendo is dumb overkill to make a hip hop record on. Mixing on it yes but if you're a beat maker Nuendo may get in the way more then anything.
Same story with Seqoiu and even Pro Tools to some extent.
Reason being is because the way it handles midi and sequencing just is more laborious then something like FL or Ableton
@@Byronic19134 crazy because I made two beats, one for nba youngboy and one for Lil baby on the spot in the front of them using Nuendo lol. The MIDI in nuendo is the grandfather for a reason. Especially for orchestral stuff. I play my drums and keys in and manipulate MIDI slightly afterwards. I’m not heavy handed on drawing MIDI for a whole hour. Hi hats and snare rolls are done on my mpcx or groove agent. I also own ableton and all other daws. FL is too slow for me as it’s too much clicking. I still have it and update it but haven’t made a beat in it since FL3 lol. Blessings king.
THe low end on Marvins Room is crazy. It hits everywhere. I will never forget hearing in in college. I was like while this is different.
love his passion, talks about his studio like parents talking bout their children
Exactly this!!!!!!
that studio is his baby
His songs are his babies
The studio is the mother of the baby which are the beats
He ways seems so passionate and nerdy about music and technology.
My man want deep into computer networking to recording drake over wifi😂.
If you see this 40, thank you for a lifetime of inspiration 🙏

WE DEFINITELY NEED HIS STUDIO TOUR ASAP
instagram.com/tv/B__LdFFHmvj/?igshid=1ps1xvtf4mkil if you skip ahead in this instagram video 40 does pretty much a full studio tour.
Around the 57 mintue mark *
"'headphones, guys, headphones eh?!"
This is what REAL passion is! Shouts to 40 -- he a REAL legend. He the real deal -- not just someone you call "GOAT" for fun the comments.
I like how 40 was all geared up for the interview and the hosts were just sitting in front of their laptops 40 CERTIFIED 🐐 💯 great interview nonetheless
Rite ....lol. The other guys were straight, jaws on the ground , in aww of 40🤣.....Just like I was🤷♂️🤣✌️
I love how deep 40 gets into his bag when speaking. He really is just is unable to hold back that passion and I love that.
36:38 I was just using Laugh Now Cry Later as a reference mix yesterday, crazy to think hes still not totally happy with it. Makes me feel better abt letting mixes go
There’s such a presence to 40, he’s 1/2 of the biggest music machine in the world but so humble and personable; genuine, so to speak. there’s a power in that.
The thing he was talking about up until like 43:10 is insane bro, imagine recording professional quality songs from across the world with your favorite producers/artists, the future is coming
ive been trying to find it. what is it? cant find anything under connect unity
@@rlcohen2 the software is called "unity connect". here's an overview ua-cam.com/video/Yt3w_eafvHo/v-deo.html
40 seems like the nicest person in the world !!
i wish ppl would ask him more specific questions about his production process. he's a musical genius and in his interviews no one ever asks how he makes his music like wtf
Agree totally, big up!
He’s answered this before.. he basically says he makes something.. fucks shit up.. fucks it up more until he gets something so fucked up that he couldn’t even reverse engineer all the fucking up he did. He also uses samples, and plays the piano to the metronome to set the mood or vibe
I know. All these interviews are hella vague.
@@JerseyJacob I think people are more so asking about what plug ins, scales, or specific sounds he likes to use but at the end of the day I’m pretty sure he keeps his process open and spontaneous, and people aren’t gonna get the super specific answer they’re looking for.
@@dathunderman4 What I think people want more of is practical advice rather than conceptual interviews where they just talk about general music topics. It feels
It's my gripe with most audio engineer content. Some of the best content I've seen has been stuff I found on accident like Nick Mira making beats for 8 hours or content where practical tricks are shared. For example, Glitch Mob was talking about the default Ableton compressor and how if you really crush a sound with the threshold really low, and if iirc, you make the release really fast and play around with the attack, you can start getting some really cool altering of the sound that isn't the "intended" use for a compressor.
It's those kinds of things people want. Both getting better at using their basic tools (Which, to be honest, comes from just making a lot of things with your default tools) but also learning little techniques that you can add to your bag of tools. Also, the more mathematical stuff (dealing with the shit like logarithmic curves and the relative nature of "loudness."
There should be more content like that created by people who actually understand their craft.
All people want is to see the engineer at work and hearing their thought process while actually in their DAW, not just their history or vague ideas about music. Especially on a show with incredible guys on like this one.
I've been having trouble with my vision today and it really had me down because I couldn't look at my screen and produce anything without getting a massive headache. Being able to listen to this in my dark ass room has really made my night, and I can almost hear 40s smile during the intro. Timing couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you for all you do! 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Hang in there brother! You’ll be fine ❤️
I had this problem about a month ago too. Just avoid bright screens for like a month and you should be fine from then onwards
40 is so pure i love that man
I can’t fucking believe this!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH PENSADOS PLACE (we need another Jaycen Joshua episode)
ua-cam.com/video/6cDm4mAaExY/v-deo.html advice good
Yes we do 💯💯💯
After hearing him speak on what he's doing for community centers and prisons to teach people the fundamentals of making music I gained a whole new respect for him as a person
CANNOT WAIT FOR CLB🤍🥀
40 deserves his flowers. You can tell he's passionate about music. True legend.
Thank you all for 40’s love and support battling with MS!
this is the most passionate I've heard 40 sound in a interview lmao
Agree
Running talk back mics thru APIs ~ perfectionist indeed
Haven't even started but 40 the fucking GOAT woohoo
you can tell how much 40 genuinely loves his job. he was meant to do this. straight legend. great interview as always.
Absolutely same thoughts
needed this today!
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Been trying to listen to every single Pensado episode... and outta nowhere you drop this one! 🤯🙏🏻
been a fan for YEARS & i love these type of CONVERSATIONS . not an interview but more like a conversation ive been BLESSED to sit in On
This man's energy is just something else man...
Really needed to see this interview today. Such inspiration from 40.
i love how hype he gets about everything makes me feel good
The 40 foundation model is actually genius. Sounds like what our communities need
I have never clicked on a interview so fast in my life LET'S GO 4000000
So inspiring. Love how excited 40 gets when talking about all his gear. Can’t wait for his studio tour. Thanks for sharing!
I could listen to 40 talk forever. This was great, thanks guys! 👍
This was a beautiful moment, thankyou so much
Truly phenomenal video, guys! Thank you.
LOVE this show...Dave, Herb, and 40, you've got another legendary episode on your hands! THANK YOU for all you do...
One of the most inspirational interviews and conversations I have ever listened to. I have a whole new respect for 40, Drake, and the rest of the OVO team.
I admire people in this conversation that are behind so many hits but genuinely enjoy talking the real feelings about behind the scenes problems. Its amazing.
couldn't stop thanking you guys the first time n can't thank you enough now. 40 is the most syper hyperactive hiphop producer man. The Goat himself Kudos n thanks again for the inspiration guys
So much value in this interview. 40 has mastered his craft, definitely a legend by this point.
Glad to have you all back!! Great Episode as always!
Gadjet low end is because of his Jamaican background and influences, his brother also plays bass so he was also around that sound. He was also a instructor at Trebas when we were using the Atari 1040st. Great guy!
I saw a reggae record mixed live in person one time and it completely changed my view on mixing.
i don't suppose you know what headphones he uses !? Just heard Noah say that Gadjet mixes completely in the box with headphones.
Also, is there any place online where we can find mroe information about Gadjet ?
@@anyes8623 how so?
@@jimjoe4309 it was like mixing before that seemed like a strictly a very technical thing you know. And it still is, but what it introduced me to before I even understood what it was, was the importance of the aesthetic / feeling of a mix. the engineer was jumping up and down creating automaton drops on the fly. Shit was lit lol
Thank you so much 40 if I never said before for creating such beautiful music behind the scenes bringing it up front and personal for everyone 's enjoyment..can't thank you enough keep it up, much love and gratitude sent...😘
Amazing episode guys. Thank you
I Love This , 40 you inspire me I’m a melodic techno guy also . You guys should collaborate and break all rules. I’m grateful for this channel.
Dave and Herb laughing at the mention of the lav mic going thru the API 512 at 11:22 was so wholesome haha
thank you Pensado’s Place 💗
Love it when 40 starts to talk about his gear and setup !! lol I feel the excitement!! ❤️❤️
Always love learning anything y'all are willing to share. Preciate u 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hey Dave, just wanted to say thank you for sharing your knowledge and perspectives. I've learned more listening to you than anyone else. Keep up the good works!
Thanks for doing this team. Three legend right here 🔥🔥🔥
This is worth more than gold! So much inspiration. Thank you.
He’s so passionate about his craft. Can’t wait to meet and learn from him one day
He’s smile is soo infectious I love that he love what he do I’m binge watching anything 40 he’s soo inspiring
I needed this thanks!!
This Man engineers the biggest artist on the planet and doesn’t gas himself up . 👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏼 humility will get you far
The cleanest lapel mic recording ever heard. Thanks for this interview guys, super inspirational. And informative. Makes me want to start bussing all of my drums just to see how much harder & cleaner I can make everything hit. In tracks I've already mastered smh.
11:03 The hardest Zoom flex right there.

This one a hell of a episode! Salute to Dave, Herb and 40!
This is a legendary conversation
YOOOO I CANT BELIEVE YALL BROUGHT 40 THATS THE PODCAST I ONLY COULD DREAM ABOUT WOW
Ooof Pensados is back full steam ahead 💪
It was so cool seeing someone who is usually so laid back, get so amped about his craft
Thank you for the jewels as always!!
This was such a great discussion and really refreshing.
40 shows up with gems, as always
Crap. Been waiting on a re-up interview for a minute. Gold. Thanks
The Knowledge he has is insane, I'm taking notes big time!
I love 40 a little more everytime I see him and hear him!
I appreciate his passion!
Love this interview and appreciate what he stands for. Salute!
Just incredible, what a guy! The unity - connect system sounds perfect for what we are trying to do here in the UK, thank you! We have been getting by with Audiomovers, Zoom and Teamviewer but this sounds more stable and faster.
40 has been my inspiration since I was 12
Im talking so far gone days!! Love to see him on pensados and seeing him healthy 🙏🏽🙌🏽
Love 40, one of my favorite producers.
Watched this twice. Great gems.
Top quality content as always!
I am mind blown! Phenomenal episode!
The cases and the rigs under the 40 Foundation sound like an amazing and revolutionary tool. A portable world-class studio, with courses on how to use the powerful tools in front of you, all in one? Stop playing. This has me geeked.
needed this
One of the best episodes of all time for sure ❤️❤️❤️❤️
great episode, amazing ideas and insight on what the greats doing!
Amazingg need a series definitely!!
love this platform!!!
To this day i still can’t get my oscilloscopes to look anything near as damn fucking perfect as 40s, views is a flawless masterpiece, nothing was the same’s scopes weren’t as clean as views but were still phenomenal but is to be expected because views came 3 years later, i put my beats in rotation in media player in exported form to compare scopes and my scopes look more like if your reading this and i think its because im using fl studio which is no where near as good as pro tools for mixing and mastering. My beats are on mixtape level right now but im getting really good at using the plugin maximus and paremetric equalizers and multiband compressors. If i had a chance to sit down and meet noah i’d legit break down in tears because your music has made my music climb mountains from where i was 7 years ago when i first started this.
40 always impresses with some super extreme audio hacks only he understands lol
Great conversation as usual ✌🏻
40 is the man. Love y’all Dave & Herb.
Living Legend!
40's space is to die for
