      Is the wood going to bow over time?

      Hey Mike Vo, thanks for the great question! The screw reinforcement and slats on the perimeter does strengthen the structure significantly. However, because it is wood it can bow. In my personal experience, this has been minimal.

      Not even for the hard of hearing, it's not good to ever have it that loud in the mix

      I am not hard of hearing. The sound mix needs tweaking. The background music is louder than the spoken word track. It’s like listening to Rhapsody in Blue and you cannot hear the piano solo because the orchestra just drowned out the piano.

    Glad I found this video. Just tore down a deck to build a covered grilling area and was wondering about a slant roof. I think I'll make it a pergola now and save on materials. What size are the roof slats?

      Thanks for the great feedback and we are delighted we could help you out! The roof slats can either be 38mm x 38mm or larger at 50mm x 76mm - the choice is yours and depends on price and availability. We used 16 in total. Good luck with yours and please send us pics when it’s complete 🙌🏼

      This is a decking board that already had these grooves cut into it. We thought it looked interesting as a finish and it was treated already so made a perfect perimeter 👍🏼

      dones394 Great question! It depends where you reside. But most big box Hardware stores like Builder’s Warehouse or Leroy Merlin (South Africa) have similar types who may need modification, but definitely Lowe’s or Home Depot (USA) should stock them!     Why put the dirt on the tarps? Why not just wheelbarrow it out? Don’t you have to discard of it? Just wondering the thought process. Thanks. Cool video! I appreciate the hard work on editing.

      Great question. There’s a few reason for this. The most important is to keep the area clean since it’s a client’s home, and secondly not to have the grass recover longer than it should. We re-purposed the soil in the garden adjacent to the build 👍🏼 thanks for the great feedback. Please subscribe if you haven’t already

      Great question! These are 90mm x 90mm posts (Metric), so would be close to 4” x 4” posts. Hope that helps 👍🏼

      Try searching for a metal fabricator in your area and they may be able to get you in the right direction. We bought the metal post at a local hardware in South Africa named Cashbuild

      Hey Natasha, that’s correct and this video was filmed over two days. If you view our full tutorial videoing building the Pergola, you’ll see we advise to wait at least 24 hours for the concrete to set up 👍🏼

      Hi Kinka, the main power tool we used on the build was a Bosch Professional Cordless Drill. We also used a Dewalt grinder for the posts. Hope that answers your question. Thanks 👍🏼

    It provides no protection from sun or rain so what was the point of it??

      Hi Terry, you’re right, a pergola defines an area and usually provides dappled shade to sit under. Adding a polycarbonate sheet on top will aid with sun and rain, but this is usually not the purpose of a pergola 👍🏼

      @@nailandscrew6702 I also felt, the background music is louder than the 'voice-over' and had to repeat/rewind too many times and was (just to be very honest) very annoying and frustrating, especially if this was meant to be a 'instructional DIY/How-to Video'. I hope you don't get offended. Just a minor issue in an otherwise great video. Thanks.

      I now see that, the music was fine later during the 'timelapse', which is nice. But not during voice-over or at least should be been a lower volume than the voice-over.
