@@sidtapia09right! You would need to plan a family reunion, neighborhood block party, a gender reveal party, set up a series of pulleys and chain falls to erect the 6x6’s. lol.
@@Jimmy-2-Times In my experience, most people just do that to mean 'rock and roll,' not a literal reference to some obscure demon they've probably never even heard of. In the 80's & 90's (in the US) the hair-metal bands' fans popularized this. Pretty sure any allegiance to an evil spirit would have been the furthest thing from the mind of 99% of the people doing this hand gesture then & ever since then. I don't know the guy in the video, but I doubt he actually worships Baphomet. I get it; I agree: Baphomet & devil bad. If he does worship baphomet, I certinaly don't like that. But, he didn't ask for my opinion on his religious beliefs. Regardless, he should have freedom of speech or I guess freedom of expression via hand symbols. I honestly didn't even notice it and had to rewatch the video to see what you were talking about.
It looks very easy when you watch the video, but it's a lot of work. This is so beautiful! I wish I had a troupe of young guys to help me. There is no way I could ever do this 😢
I am a reasonably strong man and 6x6's are very heavy. They weigh something like 11 pounds a foot for Southern yellow pine. I don't think anyone should try to do this by themselves. Maybe three guys and a skid steer could do it.
Same here. I've only got my two kids, a teenager and a young adult and neither one are worth squat when it comes to DIY stuff or getting their hands dirty. Not even to help dear old mom 😑. That I'm resourceful. I do a lot of stuff by myself anyway so I have to figure out how to build something temporary like a crutch, or rent a hydraulic something or other
@@TwinMcQuerns just did it on my own in my parents yard. Its all about thinking lol. You only need to lift one post at a time if you plan it right.. you DONT skrew 4 posts and 4 corner brackets together and try to lift it. Thats extremely dumb xD
Not bad guy! Just a couple tips. The top of the pergola is just rafters, not a roof. It has no sheathing or roofing. The corner hardware is a bracket, the ones for the rafters are hangers. Also you shouldn't paint or stain pressure treated lumber until is has weathered for 6 months to a year. The moisture from the treatment will surface and push off the paint. Keep keeping on though!
6 month wait is too long from experience. The pressure treated wood dries and cracks and twists and checks. Don’t wait even two months in hot weather. 2 weeks to a month and stain or paint. UNLESS you like cracked checked wood.
Love it!! Next time use the 6x6 to lift from the middle of the pergola for the height to do the third leg and the last leg should be a breeze. Great job and great esthetics!!
For those commenting about lack of shade etc, normally the horizontals in the roof are oriented vertically and angled so that they are perpendicular to the suns rays at high noon in your location. That makes for ‘odd’ angles that many people don’t like so they just settle for being perpendicular or parallel to the house. Properly oriented pergolas are great sun shades.
The design of this is impractical, building the top first then bottom requiring so many hands. Building a pergola is a one man job, when building it from the ground up, keeping it real.
Bro who cares ?? They got it done as a team ! wtf? Who are you ? you sound like a big ass hater that just wants to hate because they can’t afford to make their own. Shut your mouth.

Looks bad ass! Been shopping for something similar ever since I allowed my better half go to Costco unsupervised 😂. Came back with pics so excited to show me. I'll be sure to share your video with him and check out the vendor you used.
It's a pergola. By definition, open roof, provides a little shade but still open to the elements. You'd be welcome to put a roof on yours if you build one XD
You can train vines up it or get cloth pieces to drape through it, or attach a piece of lattice work over the top... ideally the slats should be oriented such that it provides some shade. Overhanging the slats would help extend the coverage, too. But, mostly it creates a "room" feeling, if not a ton of real privacy or weather protection. :)
@@pamelah6431 I was thinking vines would help with the sun, but it would take a while for them to grow that long. You don't see many pergolas in the deep south. What we do have a lot of are gazebos.

Nice job, bro. Perfect little project for a hangout and affordable
A hangout. No pun intended 😂
😂
Finally, a normal, not over the top build that's legit and manageable for regular people. Great share!
Lol did you see thr price for that kit, you can buy a full metal gazebo with a net in tht price

So basically it's a roof with big gaps. Doesn't block the sun or the rain. 😂
We installed one for an Architect, & ripped 2x4's 4 inch down to 2 inch, & set metal roofing on it. 2 inch slope was enough to shed the rain
That's what I was thinking. Don't see too many of these in the Deep South. lol
