I'm 58 still jamming this classic in 2024 & beyond 😊
I'm 10 years older and we had the best in music, Be safe

Indeed. 56 here.
Same. An 80’s classic. Listening in May, 2024!!
Right there with you with you babe!
This man belongs in the rock and roll hall of fame.
a long time ago!
I can't believe he is not in the Rock HoF.. with some of the non rockers there. 🤔
@@dchristopher7 he's not in or a member of the tribe you know
How is he not there already??
Absolutely!!!!
I am a big fan of Billy Squire. He was different from the others of the time because he wore no make up or fancy clothes, and he could dance, but didn't make a show of it. His voice is distinctive and his songs are something that I want to listen to more than thirty years later.
Im listening to him right now. One thing that u forgot, his hair was not down to the crack of his ass and blonde
Squire?!?!’bbn. Nn
He had moves like Jagger before Jagger knew he had moves! American Badass!
Yesssss. I do miss my hair. I was dancing at johnnys hideaway in Atlanta ga last weekend to this very song. Our music. Got we getting old.
@@thomaswilson8634 I know we are getting older, but we are as good once as we ever were. Please refer to Toby Keith's song: As Good as I Once Was.
T tops off flying down the highway, wind in my hair, pioneer tape deck maxed out. Good memories. Thanks man.
:-)
The early 80s were Awesome, Totally Awesome Hamilton!
The best of times.
It still works! 🤣😂Lets go do it again!
@@frsmoopus2864 Do it Again? That is the Kinks..."back where you started.."
Man we had great music .
ya we did! lol
We sure did !
It's almost impossible to hear this and not be transported back to being in school when it was released.
Sounds about right
Remind u of any thing
High school damn
@@mlicea6890 besides school, reminds me of Berserk and SHADY XV for some reason. 😮
Agreed 💯👍
The "don't say no" album is phenomenal not a bad song on that album will always be 1 of my faves
Amen! My sister had every concert t shirt too! I wanted to be her! She got me into loverboy ,ac dc etc
💯
GREAT album!
Facts🤔👍👍👍👍
I love the way he sings and dances around! No flashy clothes, just jeans and tshirts! Awesome. He is one of a kind!
We'll never have music like this again. Billy Squier's sound is unmistakable and timeless. "Don't Say No" is one of the greatest albums ever created. Thank you, Billy.

No one sounds like Billy Squire. Very distinct sound
Totally agree!
Yes I agree! He is awesome!
ABSOLUTELY 💯 💯 💯 🔥 🔥
@@terra9624 Thank you. You’re a true Billy Squier fan.
How could a song this great not make the Top-40 singles chart? It’s one of my all-time favorites, and Billy Squire was in top form. A pity the 1980s will never return.
This song got tons of airplay back then, so it might as well have been Top-40. Most of Billy's songs were very popular, if it truly didn't make the Top-40, it was because Billy didn't release it as a single.
The best
we played it every day in the quad at school and in the smoking grounds.
God I miss the 80's
How can this song have only this many likes should be 1 million!!!
I agree!
Billy's "Rock Me Tonite” dancing seems to have turned a lot of fans or could be fans against him. It's stupid but it happened in our unforgiving world.
Be patient, grasshopper!
@@oppothumbs1a music video turned fans against him? Did he beat his wife during it or something?
No no sweetie, assopper ya that would be me😂
The sound, clothing, lights, and even the music embodies the late 1970's and early 80's rock. Billy was just great rock and roll.
Billy Squier could not put out a bad song! everything he touches turns into a solid gold hit. You can clearly see how much fun he's having, this is one of his favorites for sure
He may enjoy the Stroke even better lol.
Or Eddie Money
@@Jillady Believe it or not, Stroke is about the record labels stroking the artists to get them to sign off of their fair share of the royalties. Just saw an interview on that not too long ago and after Straight Out Of Compton, it kinda made sense.
@@RockDawg77 ahhh, don't tell her that! I'm trying to talk up on it and you and I both know that he knew what that song was really about. He told them it was about record labels but c'mon, let's be real, he knew, I know, you know and Jill Cameron definitely knows....
Jill Cameron, Jilly Jilly Jilly, yours is the Best response I've ever had, it hit all my bad/good buttons. Hope you find the one with my #, hehehe...
I am 56 and still jamming to Billy Squire
I'd steal my older brothers album, listen all day, then return to his bedroom before he came home 😂 RIP bro .... I'm sure you know now ❤
I used to sneak into my sister's room & listen to her albums- she'd catch me & drag me out literally by my hair. This was on cassette & she had a Walkman, but same risks.
There's something really special about this song. I wouldn't want to hear *anybody* else singing this - Billy Squire is the only one that I want to hear singing this. ♥️♥️♥️
#me too
Why? Was this covered
The cord change in the opening is sublime
The cover in “The Dirt”, the Motley Crue biopic, is phenomenal. Unfortunately It’s not on the films soundtrack and I have yet to find it in its entirety. There are clips, though.
Im 62 still rock to B.Square!!
18 here. Mom and dad raised me on this type of rock. Only really NOW started to like Billy Squire and Billy Idol. Found THIS one again while I was driving through i-70 in a rain storm. Good driving music

I was raised on him. My mom adored him so we had to listen to it riding around in the backseat. I know all of the words and I can say that this whole album is is good. Just put it on and let it play
I used to listen to Billy from the time I was 16 years old black in 1982 brings back memories
Yes! Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for sure! Love Billy Squier! Great music, great singer and great dancer! You rock!
If you were alive in the 80s you loved Billy Squier. He is so cute and very cool. Very natural performer.
I wasn't born until 78 and I love billy squire
He looks so happy singing his songs! He's one in a million!
Spectacular voice and performer, Hat Off to Billy Squire ! My Kind of Lover
i started singing this song in my head couple of minutes. so i had to hear it, it a great song.
Takes me back to my youth! Thanks for the good vibes 😎
Played the hell out this song and album back in the 80s. Genuine masterpiece
I discovered this man thanks to the dirt and now I can’t get enough of him he’s actually really good
There’s something about his voice. This song just has something that hits something emotional in me. I don’t know what it is or why.
Hello Jennifer

Once a rocker you're always a rocker this dude is definitely a big time rocker I know this is true just something about him

Robert Plant and Jimmy Page all rolled up into one. A monster of a preference 😎👍
Hes not playing a guitar why jimmy?
Robert and neil
Like billy squire looked like if you mixed Robert plant and jimmy page together.

Billy is alive and well and living free. God bless you Billy. Amagansett Press...🙏♥️👍👊👏💪
Billy was so special , no make up., 1000 dollar get ups . Just him, his band Jean's and T shirt and let's go out and have fun and let the music do the talking..His voice was so good and he really put in a show. THANKS BILLY YOU MADE THE 80,S THE GREATEST ERA EVER, I LOVE MY TEENAGE YEARS REVELLING IN ALL THE GREAT SONGS INCLUDING YOURS. HOPE YOU,RE WELL.
Saw him in concert many, many years ago great voice. Billy Squire what a amazing voice and song.
100% agree with you .
When ya sound THIS GOOD all the time, there's no need for any "visuals" to sell their product: their sound, their excellent musical performance IS the show! I love how they KNEW that what they did & the excellent way they did it was ALL they needed. I feel like bands who resorted to theatrics were embellishing because their musical performance product wasn't sufficient in & of itself. In a way, I feel like MTV sorta "made" some bands believe they needed a "show" when all they really needed was a great sound and flawless performance. Like orchestras, just executing great musical performances.
Joyful to add this to my make out list! Way to generate legendary music, Billy! Blessings to humanity.
One of the most amazing artist of ALL time that never got enough credit in my opinion. One of a kind.. Love you Billy!!!! 🩷🩷🩷🩷
Billy wrote lots of music for other rock stars it wasn't till some one talked him into doing some stuff and the rest was history
I love Billy Squire's music. I was introduced to it in the eighties and still listening to it today ❤️
Hello Ann

Haven’t heard this for decades! Love it!
I sure remember this song at Skateland in the eighties! Miss these times!
Skateland whoa that’s a blast from the past, holy crap!
That's the exact memory that comes to my mind. It was Airline Skating Rink in Houston, Tx.
Unmistakable voice right there!! They rocked so hard!!

I'm in my home in Colorado today on a snowy afternoon with this song blasting loud!! Billy, I love the way you move!!! Hope you are doing well. I had a few My Kinda Lovers who are now passed - those men will always have a special place in my heart because we never forget the ones who really turned us on...yeah baby!! XOXO
The music industry couldn't handle Billy Squier because he was too good. Love this music.

He can definitely move. He made my butter 🧈 🫠 melt back then.😘
Lol, melted mine too❤️🔥🧈❤️🔥!
Such a sweet , sweet song and one of the first songs I ever learned on guitar. How I never got sick of it is a miracle. It was way overplayed on the radio.
In the dark love to watch that video. He is always will be the best in rock
I love Billy Squirer.. Back when I was in high school.. good ole days..
I love Billy squier's so much I've seen him three times in concert and he rocks so hard
Wow, seriously? That is so cool, where and when did you see him in concert?

Hello Bobbie
How are you doing?
It's nice to have you here!
We skated our asses off to this every weekend in 81 & 82.
Never seen video of Billy Squier, always liked the sound. Now I get it....he totally channels Robert Plant....the way he holds the mike, the way he gestures, everything.
So under rated
5 words to sum up the 80’s, Billy Squier Was The Shit!
Had a huge crush on him in high school! Way back when, rocking out his songs. 😅❤
Absolutely Incredible the way that dude pumped out hard rockin tunes like that, over and over again
Billy has alot of talent and is badass glad to see him back rockin his ass off... ..
Song brings back a lot of memories. The whole album was great.
I introduced my 16 year old son to Billy Squire and he digs it man!
41 years later and I'm still thinking of the man i listened to this album with❤
Still my classic of a song, he was such a genius!!!!
Mark Clarke is criminally underrated as a bassist. His work on this album is second to none.
The 80,s will NEVER be duplicated or surpassed . I grew up smack dab in the 80,S and loved every second of it. They wouldnt have been as special without BILLY SQUIRE and his timeless music with great lyrics. MY 2 FAVES ARE IN THE DARK AND THIS MASTERPIECE but I love all his stuff. He seemed to have so much fun on stage dancing around and smiling .He brought so much energy and positivity with him it was IMPOSSIBLE to go to a SQUIRE concert and come out disappointed.
Wow, did you get to go to any of his concerts?
@@laurabeckman82 No but heard from friends how great they were
As a kid i remember hearing this and I'm 48 obviously 80s kid..well from 75 but him an so many more ..mot the Hoople..golden earring..Joan Jett all ring in my head..music will never be the same..you can really appreciate the music from this era..
Still remember that song after all these years. A great time very laid back no crap like today .
It doesn't get better than Billy Squier 😎💪
I could never get sick of this song, what never was,, TW Red, where ever you are. ❤
Saw Billy leading off for Queen in St.Paul Minnesota in 1981 or 82. He was amazing !!!
