Hi, im hearing same sound from my hilux 1kd but it comes out evwn whn i take the key off and shut the truck completely, it keeps beeping with a 1 sec break , can u tell me if its the same issue Thanks
Mine does that just now, pretty sure its my turbo on its way out? Keeps throwing up an actuator fault and going into limp mode but now the whine/whistle is getting worse so think its more my turbo that is buggered
Hi! I have I have binged watched most of your videos the last few day. I had a Turbo failure. (whining noise) would like to send you the pics after from when It was stripped. Perhaps get your opinion on the root cause. Anyway, I got a brand new Toyota Turbo and fitted it today,I turned the ignition and it made this sound as per your video. I am relieved that it is Normal. Hi shaun I also experiencie the same problem with my hilux . I removed the battery negative teriminal for a repaire and reconmected the terminal and started the engine . in the first start it made a loud abnormal noise from the turbo 0. Is it normal ?
I know who it is, he thinks it’s going to make a difference if him and his two mates put a thumbs down as soon as any video goes up Jealousy is a curse 🤷♂️
This guy is ace Never take your car to 4x4 turbo in thomastown they are the worst ever cost me 7k to find out it was still not running properly they are useless this bloke helped without even knowing
Hey mate do you know why my 1kd doesn’t dose/ flutter I upgraded to f55 turbo 3” exhaust straight through front mount inter cooler and it doesn’t others make a pigeon noise sounding dose/ flutter and mine doesn’t at all it’s like the pressure gets released somewhere instead of surging through the turbo causing it to dose I am aware it isn’t good for the turbo or whatever I don’t care about that I just want the dose haha cheers in advance
My 2010 hilux no longer makes that noise. And engine light is now on and has lost power what could this be guys? I've changed my Turbo Actuator and boost solenoid. And my Turbo is still spooling just with lack of power. Any thoughts?? Cheers

My D-4D Hilux does the same. When you switch ignition of and quickly back on the noise goes away 🤔

Good stuff, it did have me concerned that noise ..not anymore
I think what its doing is running a maintenance cycle on the VNT to clear out carbon build up.

I think yours doesn't do it because you've changed the turbo. Standard vnt turbos hoot. But I think your f55 turbo is a waste gate turbo
