Hey guys. I have a 2013 Prado 3.0l 150 series that makes 148kw and 571nm tuned (everything is stock and auto box) but I'm chasing more. How much is this package or similar?
Good luck to the owner with his 1kd-ftv engine more bang for ya buck mmmmm in the short term . It's only a 3 litre 4 cylinder turbo engine not designed for that power from Japan so that's my 2 cents worth .
@@scottbrown946 not really, the 1kd engine is sa very good engine that gets a bad wrap for having injector issues with the standard injectors. We changed all of them so provided it is serviced regularly it shouldn't have a problem.
the a340 auto box in in hilux are pretty bulit proof. Just need to upgrade the valve body and if you start pushing really big power the torque converter.
It's as easy or difficult as you make it. The easiest but not the cheapest way would be fit the engine and gearbox. Fit a 1kz 12mm manual injector pump, fit a waste gate turbo and 1hz injectors. With that setup you've got no ecu or wiring loom to worry about. Which would suit any old simple vehicle much better than trying to find space for all the electrics
Inn my country we run Hilux on 37'' tiers, but the diff have new rations to not loos power. We also mostly use automatic. What are the price tag on a 250-270 stage ??
@@krabs1547 you need vavle body upgrade for the shifting to be smooth n somtimes a built box it all depends how you drive but ppl push 500+hp 900-1000nm onwards ppl even do it the the a340 4 speed is commanly manulised and built for this
The injectors are different also. I suspect the face-lift hilux has the +30 injectors standard, but I can't confirm that. What I do know is, if you fit a steinbauer chip (increases injector duration) for a pre face-lift hilux onto a face-lift hilux. It over fuels like mad even on the lowest setting. Which is why I think they're bigger injectors

You can't put a time limit on an engine like that. If you don't take care of an engine you can destroy it in less than 50000kms. If you take care of it it can last for a million or more. Sure, these modifications may stress components, but there's lots of individual upgrades to address them as they surface
@inspiron528 the 2nd exu is just for tuning and power levels. It is wired inline with the factory ecu to intercept and change the signals to provide more tunability, but to also keep the factory electronics from having a meltdown
Off the top of my head; turbo $3500, injectors with nozels $3500, ecushop piggyback and tune $2500, airbox $850, intercooler kit $1500, exhaust $1200, NPC 1300nm clutch $2000 then maybe another $1000 or more for labour. My guess is their package is around 15 grand. I have spent about $30,000 on my Hilux that makes 275whp but it’s had a fair bit more work.
@@finnsk3 old comment but have you forged any of the internals at all or strengthened pistons? And if so how much did it cost? Would like to look at a similar setup for mine just not sure if that’s something I should look into.

Got an update on how this is going now? What's broken?
Nothings broken, it did develop an injector line leak, but was easily repaired with a set of new lines.

Whats a kit like this set you back? I know running it at 270 all day, every day probably requires an upgraded clutch but would the box hold up?

I would use 6 speed gearbow and adapt the late LC transfer case...

Waste of time, if you're gonna do an engine swap you may aswell put in an engine that's good not a 1kd.
