cheers from a master orthopedic shoemaker from europe. I'm an expert at building new shoes, any type.. a main part of my day is spent building lasts from scratch, completely made to measure. I also build all kinds of shoes.. from the clubfooted to the lawyer in need of fine footwear. I have less experience in complex repairs. I've learned quite a bit in the field of repairs from this channel. To me it's sheer nuts resowing/repairing a goodyear welt and some of the things you repair. Some of those repairs seem more difficult to me than making a new shoe. Love your channel, much love.
I'm here for the good craft and the kindness of the craftsman.
End of the video: Not disappointed.
Steve, your freedom of expression is "my" responsibility, and every American citizen's. Wear the watches your want, drink the coffee your enjoy, drive the car you love, say exactly as you feel and fly the flags you choose. Two combat tours taught me such freedom was what we were fighting for. You and your family's proud history brought your craftmanship excellence and business ethics to our shores, so you and they are the evidence of our American dream.
The most satisfying vids are the jobs where you turn a poorly constructed shoe into a a shoe that might have been worth its purchase price.
Well said.
That’s literally the point of his videos..
@@BillyMillion It literally is not the point of his videos
another fine repair. I watched the way you inlaid the rubber sole and blake stitched the sole on and was impressed.
Your front of shop is awesome man, the flags are a real touch!
yeah, but he aint got a George lol
WHAT IS THE YELLOW FLAG ABOUT? i SAW SIMILAR FLAGS USED BY HIZBALLA.
@@gershonperry5952 The Gadsden Flag is very well known in the USA.
@@gershonperry5952 The flag is named after politician Christopher Gadsden (1724-1805), who designed it in 1775 during the American Revolution. It was used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag, along with the Moultrie flag. It is often used in the United States as a symbol for gun rights and limited government.
Iv watched hundreds of these videos both yours and others, this was by far the best one ive seen yet.

I never thought I'd say this about your work (even though I completely understand why you're able to command the top dollar pricing you do for your level of craftsmanship) but I think you priced this job too low for the amount of work that it looks like went into this restoration. As usual another top quality job. I can't help but think that there are probably only a small handful of cobblers in the entire world who could do that job and make it look as good as you did.
So satisfying watching these shoes come back to life. Who would have thought it. But cannot stop watching. Beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you 🙏
It is like therapy, watching you work wonders with your hands and machines and HAMMERS 😁 and get little nuggets of wisdom from your mouth. Stay blessed 🙏
The intro brought a smile to my face, thanks.
The sole is the soul of a shoe. You make that point every single time. This one was exceptional work, and after being a lurker and viewer since your earliest days, I had to comment and tip my hat off to you Steve
Your building reminds me of a children's story about a little house the city grew up around.
Reminds me a little of “Up.”
It's do difficult to stary calm on these days. Thank you Steve. Your work gives mi hope.
I like that he told us the cost helps with understanding everything that goes in to the work done and most important the cost.
after restoration, shoes look like small pieces of art! I repair my own shoes ( mostly preventive measures, I do what i can without special equipment - dye, repair scuffs, reattach stitches, polish to a shine, smooth creases with shoe trees, moisturize, take out water and salt damage). I've learnt so much thanks to your videos!
That intro was really enjoyable...kinda of a Mr Rogers vibe , like “ let’s the day started “ sorta thing. Cheers!
I started watching and was like what? $495 is like a new pair of those, then I watched the work and sure enough $495 was a fair price for an awesome job. Thanks for the video.
Gotta love the way you broadcast fails or “ooops moments” Steve. How you brought that back from the bin I have no idea even though I watched you. Well done again maestro - a fantastic restoration job.
Shine on
Haven't seen a repair/restoration quite like this before and I was a bit lost in what you were doing for a short while. Excellent job on these and, as always, great watching such fine craftsmanship. Thanks for the entertainment!
Thank you for your time & sharing how a master craftsman does things.
日本で靴修理をしてます。いつも技術の凄さに驚かされます。動画で勉強させてもらっています。ありがとうございます。
They turned out real nice, as good of a recreation of the original as I have seen on that type sole.
“Someone take a shot?”
I was thinking the same damn thing at the same time you said it! Your humor is rubbing off on me. 😂
Happy New Year to you Bedo!
It's a pleasure to watch your excellent work!
Yes, we need to stay away from all the craziness out there and any negative thoughts.
Cheers from Germany
Your work is far superior to others I see on UA-cam.
Omg I swear every time this man touches a pair of shoes they become gold the level of craftsmanship is truly other worldly, god level dare I say. 😊🤘🤘👏🔥🔥💯💯
They looked great at the end. I especially love the detail from he 2 roller tools on the sole, it's looks very nice.
The skill required to do this is crazy. Awesome job!
I appreciate you showing some of the dying and polishing. Also, love that you take care of the flags outside your store! Great job on the shoes! Happy New Year!
Really nice to see the leather holding up after being caked in polish, conditioner would have probably not even penetrated deep enough to reach it.
What a wonderful job you’ve done there you are truly a craftsman thank you for sharing this fantastic work ❤️❤️🇦🇺
When you said ‘we’re gonna make it a Blake stitch instead’ I said ‘good’ out loud😆😆😆😆 I’m being schooled on quality shoe construction. Let me know when you need an inspector 😂 I crack myself up
Yes Bedo's,and you forget to say that we should look at a few reconstructions shoes from Bedo's Leather Work, and it will keep us positive and with a good attitude. The best on UA-cam!! Happy New Year's!May this year 2021 grants you with triple the business from last year!
Beard trim looks good. Less gray!!! That's how I roll too. Longer beard = grayer bread. Great project Steve!
Impressive work getting that rubber sole inlay to look like the original. Well done.
I just wanted to say I love your videos it’s neat to watch a master at work ty for making your videos
Steve love the way you channelled and blaked stitched this repair
Awesome finish!
Nice work as always, keep up the great work, love seeing all the flags that represent who you are.
Bedo you are the best shoe artist
Lovely work! Attention to detail like rounding the edge of the new sole is well appreciated!
Well Steve you’re done it again, truly amazing workmanship, turned a crap pair of shoes into an absolutely amazing pair, no wonder your hands get dirty you need new gloves 😂 our very best wishes from Lockdown Reading England 🏴 xx❤️
OOOOH NOO YOU DIDN'T ! That was was some of the most intricate free hand work I've ever seen you do.
Thanks Steve, you just made a hard week for me feel easy ! I can't believe some people question your pricing. GREAT JOB 👍👌❤
You are an amazing craftsman Steeve! I would love to learn how to do what you do but I just got a new job this December and it's eating away all my free time as it's my first job in the field (IT) and still have lots to learn. The positive side is that my girlfriend (and soon to be wife) got me a leather sewing kit and that brings me closer to start learning (just need to figure the time). Hope everithing is good in your life and business. Much respect!
Pozdrawiam z Polski:)
Nice job Steve. The customer should be very happy with what you did to turning his worn shoe into something that looks brand new. Love to watch your videos.
When making the cuts for the blind stiches, I am always amazed how he makes it so accurate, straight, precise or whatever it is he's doing to the sole. If I tried that I would be all over the place.
Hi Steve, The UK is in yet another lockdown, and small businesses like mine are closed to all trade until at least February 18th, it's the third time in a year we have been through this in twelve months, life is getting tougher by the day.
Hi Graham yes it's not fun this lockdown for anyone especially people like yourself a small business but hopefully there's light at the end of the tunnel mate 👍from Tony in Warwickshire
I would say, “fight it! Open anyway! It’s YOUR life!,” but I know you can’t unless there are hundreds or thousands more businesses that would do it with you, and there aren’t. Yet.
@@f308gtb1977 Min £2k fine if you do that.
@@GrahamWalters oh I know, but if everyone did it, they wouldn’t be able to fine everyone, or if they did and everyone refused to pay, there would be nothing they could do about it.
This is why tyranny almost ALWAYS succeeds. The vast majority just comply, and it’s easy to smash the outliers. The Gestapo doesn’t have to have a million troops. The masses enforce the edicts on themselves, and you only need enough Gestapo troops to deal with the rare misguided person who wants to live free.
Es un trabajo fantástico!!! Es un verdadero maestro!!! ESPECTACULAR!!!
Great workmanship Steve, loved the inserts. Snazzy looking! 👍👍
In a crazy world, you provide a consistent source of smiles and happy thoughts. Thank you, Steve.
I just found your videos some weeks ago and I can't stop watching it. I'm a subscriber from chile South America.. your work is pure art and I love it...
Another great vid and once again your craftsmanship is displayed.
I don't know if it will be helpful to you, but when I clean with acetone I cut up my cloth into little pieces first. It keeps it from soaking into the unused part of the cloth and evaporating. Less fumes and less wasted acetone. Thank you for teaching me about shoes and leatherwork!
Good idea
Really liked the way you repaired these
You're not fooling anyone Bedo, you just ordered a new pair, and told the customer you repaired them.
All jokes aside tho. WOW.
That are wise words Steve ,things you can,t control don,t worry about that ,there is indeed nothing you can do about it,🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍🥇thx for the project vlog and time ,see you next time Steve 👍👍🙏🏻
I love the older building sitting between the newbie blocks. They all know who's boss in the street, because it deserves respect and has real character. Something they will never have.
It's amazing how you can just get in there and dismantle a shoe with so much age and history without it desintegrating into dust. Keep up the good work!
Wow. They look like they were original. What an awesome job Steve.....
Talent and dedication to give the customer the best!
A pleasure to watch such a gifted lovely gentleman.
Great work and so innovative on cutting out for the rubber sole. Amazing work as always!!!!!
Wow that was a sick inlay idea Steve! Looks great too.
I wish i could have sent you my LV, Gucci and Ferragamo shoes for repair... but no one can repair them here like you do... I bet the repair cost like a brand new one already... but you are a wonderful craftsman
Couldn’t believe how much polish came off those shoes, excellent job. Thanks.
love the channel and your professional work. ferrragamo is my favorite dress shoe and you really do great work.
I am a new subscriber and I love your channel. You really are an artist at your craft. It great to watch a person who has pride in their work. I will be yours forever! I love Hammer Time! Let's continue!
Excellent as always and “Let’s Continue the Hammer 🔨 Time”. You are a joy 🤩 to watch!!!
Great work Steve also a lot of work doing those rubber inlays but they ended up excellent as we knew they would because the customer went to the right place to get them repaired 👍
Wow... great restoration Steve 👍
You made things better than actually made by OEM... great work... 👍
As usual, another masterful job by a guy who loves what he does, and always wants to satisfy the customer.....great job Steve! ("hey man, why you trying to trigger me man, with that off-center JR logo......the customer's gonna see that!!!"). LOL
Loved the rubber inlay. A true show of skill. Well done, sir!
You killed it on this one! Great job. 👍🏼on wearing these gloves 🧤.
Your shop reminds me of the house in the movie Up!, when the high rises pop up all around it but he refuses to move.
Doing the rubber insert that was amazing. That is no easy task. Very well done. Thanks for sharing.
I am not sure about the shoes but I am sure you did a great job again. Soles show up nice and shiny.
Another absolutely spectacular repair to better than new!!! They’re even more secure now that you did the Blake stitching and didn’t just glue it back. Those were crazy built up polish, I guess instead of cleaning them the person just kept adding more polish. I am totally fascinated watching you do your magic on shoes...I could happily watch you for hours, it’s just mesmerizing!!! Thank You for another wonderful video. P.s.....I agree about everything going on here - the dumpster fire that has been the US politics, try not to let it get to you. I’ve never been more interested in politics my entire life and I just turned 48 (gees that makes me feel old writing it). I hoping and praying that in the next couple weeks our political leaders will stop all this tearing each other down and focus on helping everyone so terribly affected by the virus. Thank you for taking my mind off everything!!!
Finally! Been waiting for this video.
New year greetings
Just a thought about the splitter Try fine adjustment on each side Using a cigarette paper From side to side
We used to do this on a similar type on machine in the engineering factory I worked at
It’s works very well
Good luck 🤞
You have all the tools to start your own shoe manufacturing company. Why not? Watching from East Africa, Kenya. By the way Kenya is a country, so is Tanzania , Uganda and Sudan, plus other fifty countries making Africa. I am enjoying seeing your quality works and innovation & creativity.
Hi Steve, hope you and your family had a great New Year 👍great video... I love how, if something doesn't exist...you just make it! and the result of the "Bedo-Soul" looks very classy 👍 much love and respect to you and yours from the UK 😀👍
Another great job , It is mad out there and watching your work takes the mind away from it all Stay safe and thanks
Check the blade to make sure it's sharpened evenly, if it's not, regardless of how much you set it, it will still cut wrong. Kinda like when you sharpen a drill bit, but you don't sharpen it evenly and it cuts with one flute more than the other and the hole is oblong. I'm saying this, because the "error" is basically the same, just different heights.
As for setting the blade right, you should get two shims of equal thickness (fleabay has a lot of options for machinists) and use those to gap the blade at the outer most points.
In between all that, you should also check that the deck isn't damaged or that the rollers have excessive play (the usual suspects). Just a few thoughts for the splitter.
Yeh the blade is sharp it just needs to be adjusted, I have to study this machine
I remember my soldier husband's "parade" polished boots with a high gloss, being so thickly layered with polish that a knock on them would cause a chip like paint!!
Your business (building) kind of reminds me of the movie up as the city is built around his house.
Exactly my thought - it‘s perfect!
Excellent job. All the way through I was thinking how much easier it would have been if the customer had accepted a sole guard, which you acknowledged at the end. Still, as you say, “It’s what the customer wants”.
As Ross Bob says beat the devil out of it.😂👍 when we going to see the return of Ross Bob
Yes it’s a crazy time, but your videos help me make it through😃. Thank you
I like, and I see why the customer wanted the original look. The shoes look comfortable.
Love from Lebanon🇱🇧
Lovely job. It is brillant to watch a craftsman at work. Keep up the good work. Always a video to look foward to.
Charlie from Stanley’s shoe repair. Ones again great work
Its hypnotic to watch, love it!
Hi Steve!! Happy New Year to you & your Family. Tough couple of weeks for my family, but I’m back & so happy to binge watch all the videos I’ve missed🤗
I have at least 15 pairs of all types of Ferragamo but never even seen that bit before. Assume its real but unusual. Nice shoes. Was a nice to see and hear the work being done without excessive talk over the top of it. Not into ASM weird stuff but cool to see a focus on the work than random chatter. That's fun too and makes the channel what it is but was cool to just see and hear a pro at the top of his game do his work! Great restore on some great shoes!! 👍
piece of glass !!???? wow never seen something like that to clean the wax !!! nice job as always !!!
Not too shabby Steve! Wonderful craftsmanship!
Love that opening!
Excellent, nicely and honestly carried out.
Hi Steve another great job nice to see the Lebanese Flag stay safe from Liverpool England
