I love the tie. It sort of represents an old world artisan's respect for his trade-craft not seen much anymore. When I was young all professionals wore a coat and tie; the barber, the doctor, my school teachers.
I’m a teacher, I wear a tie in the classroom....but it feels like overkill teaching VIA Zoom. Idk
This channel never ceases to amaze me how much you can get out of repairing leather & footwear. You start watching when he takes a box cutter to a Louis Vuitton bag, and before you know it Steve's telling you the meaning of life. Keep serving up this much needed therapy during these hard times, and maybe 2021 can be the JR sole relief to 2020's botched job. 😁

Very nice soles, perfect for the Pacific Northwest's weather/conditions. A nice mix of the classical JR and the rugged wear/grip of Vibram. The blue stitching is perfect for these. Well done Steve. Merry Christmas.
I am exceedingly thankful this evening. My whole Christmas has been made. Received a text message that my niece finally got some good news. All (but one) of her tumors have shrunk. The war rages on, however a battle won is a very sweet victory indeed. She's in her early 20's, had just graduated from college and gotten her first job as a teacher when she was diagnosed and had to resign and begin this fight.

Love the customer unboxing / first impressions. I know not every person wants to do that for your channel. However, whenever you run into a customer that's willing to do that, I highly recommend letting them. It was a nice touch to see their excitement and surprise.

Another lovely job! I love Vibram soles - very good quality from a wearer's perspective - they're quite grippy. They do a version specifically for use on ice which has glass granules mixed in with the plastic/rubber which makes them cut into the ice to give more grip - the Vibram sign on those is in red ... just a FYI

Thursday I picked up two pairs of sandals and my Butler purse from our local cobbler, I had prepaid although I had an issue with his charges it was too low he would only increase it by ten dollars so I had to give him twenty dollars for their pizza fund. That cutaway model(diagram really) of the goodyear welt in the beginning is pretty cool.
VERY cool to watch this restoration process! It's amazing how well made quality shoes can be restored! It's worth spending the money on quality products that will last you forever, and can easily be restored when necessary!

Amazing work Steve 👍 I haven’t watched your last, more recent, videos yet so I’m not sure about your comments about negativity but I know that as a business owner this year has simply been a disaster. I’m working at a loss because the UK government isn’t providing my business with support (I’m a manufacturer not a retailer) so I keep going and I keep supporting the small amount of customers that are still ordering from me. Hopefully sometime soon we’ll be back to normal and all my other customers will be back and we’ll see some good times again. Keep up the amazing work you do, you give lots of other people hope. And yes, there is always someone worse off but there are also times when we have to focus on staying afloat in our own little life boats. I plan to send you some shoes one day, I have an out if shape Loakes that need your magic touch

2021 will, in fact, be a great year. I picked up my first pair of “real” dress shoes since I’m about to graduate with an engineering degree; a pair of Allen Edmonds Strands. While not the most expensive, nicest, or bespoke shoes, they were a big deal and represent my transition from an enlisted military man to an engineer who will be leading large project teams. They’re quite special and I hope to have them for a long time, at least long enough for me to send them to you to get new soles (one day!).

Funny/unfortunate story, and I’m sure you get lookie loos at your shop all the time; I was in Arlington last year for a conference at Crystal City. I wish I had the forethought to look up your shop, because I just realized you’re in that area. Would have really like to stop by and say hi. Maybe next time! I’m in the south, but I get up to DC every few years for conferences.
