my grandfather used to resole my father's shoes at home. my father always told me how much he hated the metal tips when he was a kid because of the sound they made, but that they were useful to avoid the soles from wearing out too quickly.
I've always been amazed by a skill like that, but I didn't understand the kind of craftmanship it would involve until I saw videos like this one, and he did it all by hand!
If only those shoes came in from the factory like that, but… impossible… only from you Steve, you’re the master!
One for the money. Two for the show. Three to get ready. GO STEVE….GO!
So I'm not the only one who thought of Carl Perkins
“Go cat go”
Well for myself, I thought of Elvis ! 😉❤️
I've become addicted to this Channel.

That welt overlap was the most perfect done-by-hand thing I've ever seen. Simultaneously amazed and upset that my shoe welts don't look that good.
You totally rock, wow😵😊👌❤️🙏
When you tell stories from your past I feel like I am listening to my cousin or brother, love and respect ✊🏻 “ hammer time! “
It would honestly be kind of cool to see a little video of a pro sewing machine repair person (if such a thing still exists) come in and do a tune up on one of your machines.
I can no longer find a repair person in my city for a regular sewing machine. Use to be a lot of older men who did sewing machine repair on the side. I use to do a lot of sewing and had my sewing machine checked out once a year just to ensure it was kept in good condition. The closest place now is 100 miles.
@@sammyjo8109 My grandmother made her living on heavy duty sewing machines for 40+ years, and finally stopped working at production level in the late 90s when she could no longer find decent repair.
@@smokecrackhailsatan There were several sewing involved manufacturing companies in my home town but they closed many years ago. My Great Aunt retired from a local glove factory. She loved her work. I guess I need to start looking for videos and learn to do repair myself LOL
You read my mind: when Steve mentioned the machine malfunctioning, my first thought was, "If he can't repair it himself, who is he going to find to fix it?" It's a shame, and part of our throwaway society mindset. One older man who used to repair appliances (remember those guys?) said to me (with a sigh) the last time I saw him, "Nobody fixes anything anymore." That's pretty much the mentality now--toss the old, run out and buy new. One reason I especially love Bedo videos is that they show a craftsman who *doesn't* have that mindset, and not only repairs things, but makes them better. Kudos to the customers too, who don't believe in just throwing something away.

I bet the guys at Hugo are hanging their heads in shame!
Those shoes just doubled in value.
Nice job Sir.
I was thinking the same thing. Great job👍🏻
Why should they? It's fashion. U want custom? Pay 1,6 to 6 grand on custom last ofc... ur cheap? Buy fashion :)
1,6= lotta machinery, 6 handmade... that 6 is like 120 hours work... u got 2 pay 4 what u get.
And at only 5 times the cost!
I dont think the idle sounds so good on this car.
There's nothing wrong with blake stitched shoes. It is a design choice. I'm sure the name on the shoe made it a lot more expensive but blake stitch shoes do have advantages like much more flexibility and a lighter construction. It is heavily used in Italian shoe construction.
The same applies to the EVA sole. There's loads of leather soled shoes out there and a much smaller number of these sneaker soled shoes so why buy one and then change the sole ?
Wow, the shoes turned out Beautiful!
BIG improvement over the original!
Love the 2 tone look on the leather soles. I remember in my youth hearing that distinct sound of the metal hitting the side walk as men walked down the street in the business district. Too many people have no idea what a well made shoe is about these days. I am new to viewing your channel but I have to say this one was the best so far. Funny, informative, nice relaxed atmosphere.
So what if your not talking all the time. When you do speak I learn. It’s like watching a fine cabinet maker at his craft! I get a chuckle when you say “let’s continue” with a thumbs up.
Your trademark expression huh.
Thanks for great video’s
Mid ‘60s hot rodders love the Beach Boys. My pop used to tune up AC Cobras with 427s and dual quads, He even made his own manometer to balance the carbs. Mustangs like GT series, boss engines. He worked at a Ford plant and the execs that had the baddest Ford hot rods had him maintain their cars. He was strictly a Ford guy, in his element.
Ah. Back ground music. Every winter I crave the sounds of crickets.
Only in America can a cobbler work hard, master his craft, and drive a Ford Cobra. Good for you, Steve, you earned it!
Work of art--I think you especially liked working on these blue shoes, because I know you like incorporating touches of blue on other shoes (soles, heels, etc.). Before they looked cheap, despite being designer shoes--more like boat shoes than dressier ones. Looks so much more substantial and expensive now. Thanks for a nice quiet video--I guess a lot of us are traditionalists, and we like our "old school" Bedo videos!
Agree!!
Boring Sorry. Cheers
I've been doing this for 20 plus years I've seen stuff you wont believe it's so satisfying to see top and I mean top. Notching craftmanship period
Natures sound is the best sound you can get I think .
Elvis would be wearing those blue suede shoes! Beautiful!🤩
Any shade of blue is just awesome and beautiful work!!!!
OMG Steve!! That’s the bomb!! I haven’t heard anything that good since 1964! Love it!👵🏻❤️🇺🇦
Wow! There was so much cool going on with that Cobra. My fav was the paint combo black on copper and the close second was the seat leather. thanks so much for sharing.
Two things I don't ever want to live without: Leather and Butter. The leather made these shoes like butter Steve! Beautiful work as always1

Another beautiful job Steve! Yes, try loosening the tension on the machine. I used to sew leather lounges for a living, thread and needle breakage is usually due the wrong tension. Good luck!
I know I say this every time, but.......those are the most beautiful shoes I've ever seen!!!! Lol
How dare you combine blue and black in such an elegant manner.
Un excelente trabajo STEVE .Hay que poner siempre el valor de los artesanos como tú.Un cordial saludo desde ESPAŃA 🎩
I love your humor and you are a master of yours art. I just hope no one steps on those blue suave shoes. Oh your boys car is a beauty.
Nice to have the humour and chuckling throughout the video😊 as ever a great job, I hope the owner has a nice Italian suit to do them justice!
You took those shoes to a whole new level. They look amazing. Great job!!!!!
OH WOW STEVE!!! Another beautiful job... You certainly elevated those shoes to a whole different level... Timeless, classic, and elegant... Thanks for sharing ;-)
Wow didn’t expect that engine inside that car and man you must have a huge cam in there for it to idle loppy like that. Music to my ears
Your craftsmanship is unparalleled….Thank you for sharing! 🙏🏽
Glad to hear your humor has remerged.
Those Florsheims are the best I've seen you do!! WoW!!!
What beautiful powder blue suede. An absolutely gorgeous shoe. And you are correct sir...the work you did, took them to the next level. Ladies clamber over a guy who wears nice shoes, nice sport coat/shirts, and nice watches. Drive those ladies crazy. You do great work Steve. I have several pairs of Allen Edmonds I need soles on. One of these days, I am going to pack them up, and ship 'em to you. (All of them were bought at Goodwill for less than $20).
Beach Boys, 1964. "Fun, Fun, Fun" Yes, I'm THAT old. I was 10 when it came out.
Love the mandatory bridge engine rev! That thing sounds amazing, looks like a blast to drive, beautiful ride Steve!
It’s always quite surprising what those fashion brands call a shoe. And they also charge the price of a very good shoe. But only now it actually is one! Great job 👌
One of the best looking cars ever made. I had several Diecast models of the Cobra.
Those Hugo shoes reminded me of a pair of Mezlan shoes I saw few years at a shoe store. Nice work man.
Oh my goodness they are gorgeous!!! Love the full length videos.
Wow, absolutely stunning. That blue was a great choice and with the new welt and soles, took it on another level. Also loved seeing the interior and exterior of the car. What a beauty! So well kept. 💖 Ty for sharing!
I sorta liked the white sole, it made me think summer. They came out very nice.
Love the anecdotes and the "silence." Both are very enjoyable. Thanks again for great content!
Beautiful car 👍 I enjoy your videos better than the others because you keep it real, you don’t try to embellish what’s being done - you’re honest, that’s the big difference. Nice work!
Hey Steve, Love your Videos and expertise, I have stumbled unto your channel recently and can't get enough, I was born in Beirut just like you to an Armenian Family in early 70's, both my Grandfather and uncle were shoemaker/leather workers like many others at the time, when I see the old photos on your wall and see you carrying out repairs on shoes, it brings a nostalgic feelings.
I remember the Pigeons flying in the sky on a gorgeous Mediterranean sunset during the summer and was always fascinated as kid, as how they knew where and when to return to.
Keep up the excellent work and if you ever need anything done to your Classic, I run a Classic Car repair shop in Sydney Australia.
keep well and healthy.
That’s awesome story, thanks for sharing
I think USA-Australia is a long way to go for a car repair 😬
It's real enjoyable to watch a professional at work .
Never occured to me that sort of transformation was possible. Beautiful pair of shoes, real conversation starters. The customer will be thrilled.
Beautiful workmanship! They look much better than the original look with the white soles!
Superbly beautiful & elegant now . What a difference Steve's touch makes ? It transforms the ordinary into classy . Excellent job , well done !
I think the appropriate word here is "Wow". Absolutely stunning job.
We got the Beach Boys and Elvis' blue suede shoes in the same video. You always bring a smile to my face with your sense of humor. Thank you. And those shoes are beautiful.
"You can do anything but stay off my blue suede shoes". Showing my age there. Good video and enjoyed seeing the motor.
Bummer you skipped my favorite part. I love it when you cut the groove for the stitching
Wow, the blue on the heels are brilliant, fantastic! Thanks so much for your wonderful episode!
You never cease to take my breath away my brother !!..........................................................OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice resole, Steve. I like your sense of humor. All the best from Brazil. Subscribed.
A wonderful upgrade to a fantastic shoe. Beautifully crafted, embroidered and embellished. ❤️❤️👍👍👍
Not sure what I enjoyed more: the revving of the engine or the cackle that came after it!
That's the music I like to hear :) They look so much better with the leather soles.
Nice to know I am not the only one that has this done.😮😮😮
Other than the french tips they look amazing. lovely color combo and very nice touch going with light & dark brown like that.
Wow what a transformation with those soles. Nice Beachboys reference too!
Looks good Steve! Enjoy the interludes.
When my home sewing machine pulls like that and breaks a needle like your blake stitch machine is doing I can usually solve the problem by unthreading the whole machine and rethreading it because the thread is getting hung up somewhere. It's a thought. Love this shoes!
I have a pair of dark blue Boss dress shoes that I adore but those suede ones are absolutely stunning!
Dident realize they still had blue suede shoes, I had a pair in about 1956 when the song was hot.
You gotta be kiddin' me. Frieking gorgeous. Great job as always.
You're not a cobbler only. Truly an artist..
Great did awesome shoes and a badass car I've never seen a seatbelt like that
The Beach Boys..i used to have a record of that when i was a kid..we played it till it didnt play anymore
Like the song goes “You can do anything but don’t step on my blue suede shoes”. Another beautiful job! 👍
That was an awesome clip of your mechanical baby! Glad your son was with you, makes it that much more special. Keep kicking ass, you are truly a craftsman! Oh, and get some new wheels for that thing!
And Steve knocks it out of the Park once again!
Hi Steve 🙋🏽. Back to watch the master AT work.🤓 As Usual, the shoe's are absolutely beautiful ❤️👍🏽.
Hi Steve, WOW those shoes look SO much better with the leather soles and the colour is very striking. The Florsheims looked AMAZING! You are one "24 Carat Genius"😁 Much love and respect to you and yours from the UK 😁👍
Beach Boys!! I grew up listening to my Dad playing the Beach Boys. LOL
You are a great craftsman, I do the same job you do, my father taught me this great art. Long live the artisans, greetings from Sardinia.
I had a pair of blue suede 3/4 boots over 30 years ago. I wore them with everything. It was because I had a thing for Elvis. Lolol. Some how I lost one and never found another pair 😪 😔. This was nice to see. Thank you. 😊
Thank you Sir for all of your wonderful and educational videos. Love that car, it’s beautiful.
AUCH! As usual, great job on the shoes. But... that CAR! OMG! LOVE that rough idle!
Bedo thanks for showing us the wonderful bobbin winding segment...when we could see it had run out I really hoped you would show the process and you kindly delivered..,,,many thanks :)
I love the teaching moments you do in your videos. Even things you have shown before I find very informative. Thanks for doing what you do.
16:38 Those soles looked huge from that angle, my depth perception was thrown off 😂
I liked the editing in this video!
Fantastic. Beautiful job.
The Beach Boys. I grew up with that music.😉
Hugo Boss should be embarrassed.
I just love seeing you work with sole and mid-sole leathers. At 18:18 the noise the blade makes as it struggles to cut the tough mid-sole leather is cool.
That pair of shoes turned out very sweet ! I'm with you, a Goodyear Welt rocks, but that rapid Blake Stitch isn't too shabby. Gorgeous shoes.
Beautiful job! From a meh department store shoe to a solid & sleek handcrafted tank
“I’m glad I haven’t had coffee yet” … lol , there’d be 1screw on the shoes and 9 on the floor
Steve you cracks me up sometimes! 😂
The Best type of background music is nature.
To me, these shoes went from a sort of casual style to a pair of very elegant looking shoes.
Bedo. You're the man. Beautiful car. You got taste man. Thanks for sharing.
MAN ! Your work is so good I have made a habit out of watching your show. I feel like jogging in my dress shoes so I can wear them out and have you repair them.
Hammer time without coffee.
Greetings from Brazil.
2:24 this started better than my relatively recent car lmao
You definitely transformed the blue suede shoes into a masterpiece. Beautiful work !!!
Hammertime is one of the best channels on UA-cam
Great video Steve , love the transformation of those shoes , nice car. I love the AC Cobra shape. Where’s Chris the coffee man Steve ? Were you filming too early for him ? 😆😆. 👏👏👏👏👍🍺🇬🇧
Hai Steve, nice to have you back with your jokes and talking to yourself (haha). But tnx that you’ve let us see your two-tone car. I like it it. So let continu with more background music 🤣👍
Wow lovely shoe at the end. Really took it up a notch it in my opinion and oh my what a neat car!
Hey, you do have those who are elderly watching. Very popular and fun song.
Beautiful color and exquisite craftsmanship. If I may say. As you like the fine detail so much with the metal tip with screws not nails and the geometric sets of pins on the heel.
A beautiful pair of shoes that I wore for over 15 years had that sharp forward edge of the heel cut off at 45 degrees both ways like taking one corner of a dice. It stopped the heel from snagging on carpet .
