Thank you for your video, you made it so clear, consisise & with ease installing a ring doorbell. I picked one up for €60 in Argos before they close down in Ireland. The clarity is amazing, so delighted with my purchase. Mine does not have batteries but works off wifi/fibre. It is very discreet would'nt even notice you are on camera. Activates straight away when a person walks into your drive.
So helpful! But I have UPVC and I only see people install it on Everything but UPVC so when I saw this, I already knew it would be helpful but you skipped the part when you put the doorbell on so it would be even more helpful if you could tell me what you use to screw it in. Thanks!
Why didnt you use the backong plate that came with it? Do you know if it is better to have it flush against the doorframe, as you've done it, or using the new style angled plate? Thanks
The plate no idea how fit it so can you attach without plate and use phillips screws and plugs from bag A ( 4 ) using 1/4 inch drill bit Not sure how deep What size Phillips screwdriver is needed ?Finally screw for underneath bell from bag B using blue driver supplied ?
Mate what size drill bit you use for the back plate? And was it a masonry drill bit? Never drilled into upvc before and was wondering if you need to put the plugs in after you drill the holes. Cheers
The batteries may look physically identical but also check the battery power charging/output levels (USB charge side shud be standard tho) i.e. watts, amps etc ... Could be different potentially for Ring 2 Vs Ring 4.
Hi - I have a UP VC door and would like to ask how I can install in on the door - there is an existing view hole - but I want to mount the Ring doorbell lower (underneath this please) - any advice/installation guide welcomed. THX.
Sure they could but they would be recorded in the process, it's not 100% theftproof but being recorded while doing it would sway the majority away from doing such
Is it a stupid question I live in a flat on top floor ( only 2 floors 12 flats in block) but how can I have a ring doorbell because the WiFi connection will be rubbish as its bit far ... is there anything I can use or get ?!
I have a ring doorbell 4 and I'm subscribed for the live footage but there is part's that's missing in orange and I cannot figure out why. I have a strong Internet connection, was just have you had any experience like this or is there a solution to fix this
Hi, how did you cut through the beading so the base plate lies flush as the screws aren't long enough if it's not flush. Have been scraping with Stanley knife but getting nowhere. I'm trying to do it myself as my partners useless at diy, also I'm pretty useless too obviously.
Different but still yourself mate and that’s what we’re here for 👍🏼 keep it up dude, don’t feel pressured into making something because people want content dude, I speak for myself here, but doesn’t matter what content you put up mate i for one won’t be unsubscribing that’s for sure! You’re a top bloke! Funnily enough my partner follows your partner on Instagram and seen you together on there the other day! Small world!! Also congrats on your engagement dude!
Great video mate, looking a lot better than the older one you have I wonder if it will get the views like the old version, I would be nice to see an follow up on the camera an 3 months later.
HI Hayden Great video. When using the WIFI Password do we use the 2.4 Ghz password which I had to get special from the cable provider or the general login password for my wifi network which is on a "Puck " system . These new Puck systems integrate 2.4GHz and 5 GHz symbol all in one. This question is for fututre installers as I have a tech guy coming later today. Thanks and Greetings from Canada. Love your "Banger " Comment
Did you just screw the screws that came with the Doorbell straight into the uPVC? The manual shows the screws for wood and brick (with a wall plug) but doesn’t mention uPVC.
you left off the complete installation steps!! I am fed up with trying to remove tiny screws to recharge my ring 2-so thought that ring 4 would be easier-but you left out the installation of cover plate
I've just bought Ring 2 second generation . How did you screw the base into the upvc door frame, did y just use the screws provided? I can see plugs but i think that might be for use on brick work? Do the screws hold firm in the upvc frame on their own, I've never screwed into door before.
Hayden, you are unintentionally funny with the things you say, and your gorgeous accent, which makes you even funnier! Best of all, we nearly saw your own Ring during the video😜Liked and subscribed.
My home does not have any front garden or driveway etc - it literally has a public pavement outside the front door - would this be a waste of time to buy ?
Virtually same question as Daniel Walker below. How do you screw the bell to the upvc frame? I've looked around and the answer seems to be to use self tapping screws but they are difficult to find in the narrow gauge to fit in the holes of the base. The screws that come with the bell are only about 3mm wide with 5mm head. Do you just use the screws that came with the unit, do you use any sort of rawlplug or anchor, or do you find a suitable self tapping screw?
Tbf I used 2 normal screws 😂 and 2 that were supplied it’s still on there just watch it because the front won’t clip on to good with the wider heads on the screws
@@JustbeingHayden Thanks for the reply. I have managed to source some self tapping screws which appear to be the same size as those 'ordinary ones' supplied. I'm going to try a 'work around' to avoid screwing directly into the upvc frame by using a piece of hardwood screwed into the adjacent wall and butted against the upvc frame - then screw the doorbell into the hardwood - if it doesn't work I'll go down the self tapping route. I'm just worried how much grip there will be screwing diectly into the upvc.
This is so helpful. I’ve just bought my first home and was thinking about getting a ring doorbell. I was a bit worried about how easy they were to install but now know from your video that it’s quite straight forward. Thanks!
Just got mine mate and it’s on charge and thanks to watching you I will get another battery . I must say I was hoping the 4 would slot onto my original ring base but now have to faff about sorting this out . Don’t like the idea of screwing into my pvc frame so I have some tiger glue which should do the job fixing on new base . Brilliant vid mate , thanks a lot 👏👍
Great vid for noobs like me. I used “Ring help “and their video didn’t indicate clearly that the fixing holes were part of the doorbell. Keep up the good work 👍
@@JustbeingHayden cheers Hayden, looking at getting one for my mum. No way I’ll be able to install it myself though even though you made it look easy 😂
@@JustbeingHayden no worries fella. I’ve not yet got the ring door bell but having someone do a tidy video is well appreciated. One day when I get one I can come Back to this and have it help me

Thanks helpful video it answered my question about the backplate, ie there isn’t one with the 4 👍
This is so helpful.
Thanks 👍🏻 straight to the point and helped me decide to buy one ❤
Did you use the rawl plugs on the 2nd gen door bell
Great video I’ll set mine up tomorrow thankyou
Nice one fella, was looking into this for our new house and your video has made my mind up, cheers 👍🏻
Thanks Hayden do you also need the chime to plug inside house?
Thanks you just told me all I want to know stay safe
Why didnt you use the backong plate that came with it? Do you know if it is better to have it flush against the doorframe, as you've done it, or using the new style angled plate? Thanks
Thanks for that Great video 👍
No problem 👍
Did you use the screws supplied by Ring in the box or did you have to buy specific self tapping / self drilling screws for your upvc frame ?
Which screws did you use
I am so glad that I watched your video, no waffling just straight to the point. Thanks.
I just bought my first video ring doorbell 5, please do a video on how to connect to the smartphone and what is the best rain cover to use. Thanks

Thanks man, this was helpful! I am looking to buy one of these for my mom for Christmas.
Love it mate
Does it matter if I mount it next to the door or on the wall to the side which I’d a foot away, is it poss to mount too high or low
lovely video handsome man
Thank you 💪
I got fed up changing the battery so bought the ring solar panel to go around the doorbell
Can I ask what the measurement is from your doorstep to the bottom of the doorbell housing please?
Mate what size drill bit you use for the back plate? And was it a masonry drill bit?
Never drilled into upvc before and was wondering if you need to put the plugs in after you drill the holes.

How high up would you suggest them to be installed?. Is it eye level of the average height person or are they ok to be installed lower?

Question for you sir ...
I want to install on uPVC french door.
Any specific screws for fixing to uPVC ?
Thinking it may not be strong enough on uPVC.
Thank you i was wondering if plastic to be removed front of the camera you showed in the end 👍
Hiya. You make it look so easy. Do you think I could install the door bell on my front door, or shall have it on the side wall?
Isn’t that mounted too high up? Isn’t the recommended hight 4foot ?
Nah it’s perfect at that night least you can see their head 🫡 best to maybe connect it and check for what suits you
Hello mate, nice video, just a question, what do you suggest to drill into upvc? What screws? Wall plugs? Thank you.
Did you find out what screws etc you needed?
Amazing video. Very well presented - thanks
Just what I needed. A brilliant explainer video. Very much appreciated

fucking stupid concept of having the door bell speaker on the outside .The noise they make in the middle of the night is ridiculous
To steal it someone could start by pulling out the battery and use a screwdriver to undo it
Sure they could but they would be recorded in the process, it's not 100% theftproof but being recorded while doing it would sway the majority away from doing such
Good vid 👍👍😀 looks interesting

He is English.
🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
Leave the lad alone, he's a fellow Brummie 🙂
So 5 months later, what’s the verdict in comparison to the Doorbell 1 that you replaced? Was it worth the update and if so, why?
How long does battery last please
Month or 2 depends how many notifications you want
Hi, drilling into upvc, did you need different screws or rawplugs?

Hi thank you for shown me how easy it is to install the ring doorbell 4
Was that 15 minutes or 50 minutes to update?
did you use the raw plugs?
No I didn’t matey
@@JustbeingHayden Do it matter what screws you use as the are many sizes, all of them came with raw plugs.
Lol I only got 1 ring sticker
Thanks very clear instructions
How long does one charge last you personally?
Normally anything between 4 to 8 weeks matey
Hi do you think I could stick the ring one bracket to my door instead of using screws
I wondered this. But I assume it could b stolen. I want one but don’t want to ruin my new porch. X
You can buy a spare parts kit from Ring which has an adapter plate so that you can mount it properly.
Does anyone know what size of drill bit i will need it to mount it on a brick ? Thanks
How long does the battery last?
Few weeks 6 maybe
How long does battery tend to last?
Great video mate. How long does the battery last on these before you have to swap the battery?
Few weeks few months depending on how much you want it going off

If they’ve got the screw yeah

Hard to say because of laws ect you could maybe have one just lower the motion detection or maybe just have it if someone rings the bell 🛎

Totally useless video as all I need to see is how to drill it to the wall and yet this step is completely skipped
If you don’t know how to screw it to a wall maybe you should hire someone who knows how to use a drill.
You did notndiscuss the two way talk feature. It is important. The Blink cameras hace food video but poor two way talk.
Did you use the standard screws that came with the unit to screw to upvc or did you have to drill pilot holes and use self-tapping screws?
Do you need to buy the door chime to go with this
Nah you don’t need to
