yeah that's really funny but it doesn't change a thing about what I said....it isn't especially a Ford problem. People pay so much for cars with 20 year old technology it is just insane! Cars like this truck are maybe worth like 12k pound ...at most !!! and even this is overpaid.

It's odd hearing someone call a midsize pickup a "commercial vehicle" whereas a commercial vehicle in the United States is an F-550 or a similar 5500 truck. If you don't like trucks you're lying, take a trip to the US and drive a truck with a V-8 gas or diesel and you'll enjoy it a fuck of a lot more than an expedition with a bed that makes 200 shit power.

I really kind of wish we had this ranger in the states. You guys over the pond have more of a full-size truck out of it while we were stuck with a 1/4 ton.

Koshunae I hope we get small trucks again. Never liked big trucks and those things just keep getting bigger. I felt like I was driving a bus when I got behind the wheel of a newer f150.
I would like a fullsize for the towing capability but my ranger can pull most of what I want. I have an aftermarket class 3 so I could pull a small car if I wanted, but it would be struggling the whole way through.
Koshunae better drivetrain, leafs from a larger truck and strengthen the frame and you should be good. I feel like ford kept the rangers underpowered so it wouldn't bite into the f150 sales as much. Kinda funny how the 5.0 from the explorer is nearly a plug and play swap but the rangers never got the engine from the factory.
It is nearly a plug and play but there is a bit of fab that needs to be done to get it to work well. But as far as making my ranger better at towing, I could buy a fullsize anything for the price it takes to strengthen the frame put a stronger drivetrain in it. Not to mention I only have the sohc 4 cylinder.
I accidentally pressed a number on my keyboard's keypad and it sped the video up. I'm not gonna complain, it made for some good laughs.

I've never wanted a truck in my life, much less a ford. But this has made me want to buy one instead of my small VW
I'm not a big truck guy but I think that it was dumb to stop selling the Ford Ranger in America. The Ranger was the small truck that small businesses and people would turn to when they needed a truck but didn't need the extra cost and size of the F-150. It's not like people don't want small trucks because you can just look at the success of the new Chevy Colorado. I think that it's rumored to comeback in 2018 or something but either way I hope this small truck comes back to the states.

It's actually 470 Nm. Which I reckon is a little bit low too, but unlike a LR Discovery 4 which makes close to 600 Nm from its 3 litre V6, the Ranger has a more even spread of torque across its rev range. For a vehicle that'll be hauling and towing regularly I reckon 470 Nm is a good number for reliability and performance.

Jirka Cvrcek I have a friend who loves volvos and even he will admit that they have problems with the turbos and intercoolers after a while. Too much stress. This 3.2L V6 in the Ranger will be bullet proof by comparison since its down-tuned deliberately for reliability.

This was a “suggested” video for me. Not sure if Alex is aware of what we actually do in the USA? After watching a few of his videos, poking at the dash, informing us our kids are overweight, incorrect weight and capacity figures.
I’m beginning to think the pool of automotive video journalists needs a bit of chlorine added. There is certainly enough misleading information out there, Alex just piles it on. Am I alone with my opinion?

+Aaron Lopez you're totally right about it competing with the Colorado I don't know why they got rid of ranger or the sport trac. It was a good truck to have where you could take the family out and put some stuff in the back and get better mpg. But it's simply not a commercial truck. It might be able to haul 3.5 tons etc. but I highly doubt it can do that on a day to day grind without struggling... a lot. The guy that I bought my car off of his 2010 ranger couldn't haul the 2200-2300 pound rx7 without struggling

Alex Kersten I dont think I could ever get past the fact Chris Eevans is hosting, he's an arrogant prick and a real scumbag based on his history and I highly doubt he has changed. Not to mention the fact Chris Harris is on there, the guy that complains that certain cars make him look gay so he won't drive them, what kind of car guy acts like that. Jeremy was an arrogant rich guy but the fun was that he knew it and laughed at himself. Can't wait for the new Amazon show though should be interesting to see what they do with it.

Why make American jokes about what is probably the least American Ford truck ever built? They don't even sell it in the US (unfortunately). It might make sense if you were driving an F150, but not this. Please don't try to be Clarkson, it isn't working. That American accent needs a lot of work...

Shona No, the two aren't necessarily related. Even if he didn't even mention America, it would still seem liking he was copying Clarkson's style, and he can't pull it off.
MAEguy A lot of them are like that, Clarkson is only seen as the forefather of this style because he's the most known. That doesn't make it his style, it's just the way British people are. They're very sarcastic, they like to exaggerate the statistics to an extent and they like to be edgy/make borderline offensive jokes or comments.
Shona It's not that. There are plenty of other British reviews out there to watch and none of them have this problem. Richard and James are funny too, but they have their own style. Fifth Gear does excellent and fairly entertaining reviews too in a completely different way. Chris Harris is just as sarcastic and opinionated as Clarkson, but yet he still makes it his own. Even Carfection (terrible name, great videos) pulls off quintessentially British car reviews that rival the best of them. They don't have to overly embellish anything, but they're still funny and at least they're also informative. None of these other British reviewers are half as annoying as this. The problem is that he tries too hard. His "humor" comes off labored and unoriginal. At that point it stops being funny and starts being annoying. But 12 year old Car Throttle fans love it, so they just keep putting him in videos and having him act even more ridiculous. At the risk of sounding like a hipster I'll say Car Throttle was better before it was cool. It's not without merit now, but the "funny" videos usually aren't and the comment section is often full of crap.
