You sir. I respect for letting us see a new ranger being 'off road' properly. No kidding. These, plus some other track that i watched from you videos are proper stage. Being a rear diff lock only, really make a run for its money.
fantastic! the shots at 1:00 and 3:23 are some of my favorite i've seen! great job filming/driving/editing, keep it up. wish i had some more mud to play in but it's in short supply here in the rockies haha.
B Roll Offroad thanks heaps for watching and comments. Mud is fun but I prefer the more technical stuff tbh. Nowhere near as much cleaning afterwards. Getting good footage of my own car while driving has its own challenges. The editing part is easy. Cheers
thanks for putting it out! haha i know the feel! filming like survivorman makes the trail take 5x as long! and yea mud is a pain, but everyone wants what they can't have ;-)
I REALLY like the look of that Ford Ranger, I hear we are going to get them in the US, I owned Rangers of old, but then they stopped making them. nice job in the mud also.
How do you rate the Ranger? I have considered making the switch from my old TD 4.2 turbo GQ for something nicer for the family but it owes me nothing and I am skeptical about the reliability of this new small capacity common rail diesel
hey Michael love your driving just brought a Ranger myself and doing some upgrades at the moment.just had a 2inch lift and looking to fit some wheels not to sure which way to go, are they all terrain or muddies you are running on your ranger and if so are they noisey on the road
hamid abdrabo cheers for the comments. Toolangi is known for its mud. Not sure if anyone has noticed but right at the start i fall over while running on the mud so the car handles the slippery stuff a lot better than I do.
That a custom front bumper been made for this kinda stuff? brilliant vid. hoping to get a ranger in the next few months. Equally capable to the land rovers and the rest
calum aitchison it’s a Rhino4x4 evolution bar with a winch inside. Also improved the approach angle a lot. There are other similar bars on the market as well by Uneek4x4 and GMF if you like that style. Being rear diff lock as standard it goes very well off road. A lot better than people give it credit for!
David Hewett thanks Mate. The Wildtrak variant comes in Auto only. O would have chosen Auto if given the option. Had my fair share of manual over the years and prefer a auto now. Also for off road they go pretty well as you only have to concentrate on your line. Glad you enjoyed the vid👍
Excellent it seemed effortless. I bought a wildtrak a few months ago. Very happy with it..thanks Please let me know how you set up re 4low diff lock track control?
John Citizen , I use sports mode in 4low when off-road. Only engaged rear diff lock in that bog hole only. I only use it when required. Brake traction control remains on the whole time and when rear diff engaged front brake traction control remained on. I hope that makes sense.
Michael Toomer makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much. I will subscribe to your channel. I just need to work out when is best to disengage traction control. Loose gravel, snow not sure.
John Citizen , Leave traction control (BTC) on in everything except extreme mud/clay and sand. Turn of ESC and ETC if in 4H. In 4L they go off automatically. practicalmotoring.com.au/car-news/2015-ford-ranger-px-mk2-technical-analysis/
Qeldroma3111 I love the traction offroad and on-road handling however I'm afraid they don't seem tough enough for some of the offroad abuse I have thrown at them. So far I have had one sidewall puncture. I also have a lot of chunks missing from the sidewalls of the other tyres that have not gone all the way through. Also i have had a lot of air leaks in then caused by dirt and grit getting inside the bead. This is because due to the thin sidewall and lack of rubber or rim-guard over the edge of the rim, dirt has been able to force its way inside. This is more of an issue because I'm running 9" rims that poke out past the car. I think 8" rims would be a lot better with these tyres in the 285 size anyway. I have done 30k kms on these tyres so far and I estimate they will last for about 50-60k kms on my car. All in all I think they are a great tyre for what they are marketed for and priced well. However I won't be buying these again and will look for a more aggressive tyre next with a 3 ply sidewall instead. If your going to do a lot off offroad with these just he extra careful where you out your wheels I guess. Hope that helps and thanks for watching
Michael Toomer Guess Im glad that I have full replacement certificates on all 5 of mine. Also I got all 5 with certificates for $1000 US. Glad to hear they perform well. Thanks for the response.
Of course when we get here in the US they will not have a diesel engine either I am pretty sure we are getting the 2.3 l 300 horse 4 cylinder which sucks if they don't offer a diesel
Erik Hadinger There are rumors that the Ranger won't have the diesel, but supposedly Ford is in production of a Ranger Raptor that is said to have a diesel.
Brilliant vid, love the truck! Picked up a PX2 Wildtak as well. I see your running 285-70-17, did the rub with the lift before you had the front bumper replaced? Running 18" Black Rhino rims with a 2" Old Man Emu lift. Want to stick on a set of 285-65-18 Hankook MT (good price here in South Africa) just scared they will run with the standard bumper. You opinion will be appreciated. Keep on posting the vids as they are brilliant!!!
chris blatherwick , They rubbed sometimes with the standard bumper but that’s because off the -12 offset of the wheel. With a positive offset you shouldn’t rub with a 2” lift at all. To be safe I would go with a +20 offset and you should fit 33” wheels easily with no rubbing. I hear the Hankook Dynapro MTs are good and I have seen one perform in the mud. The guy running them loves them but personally I didn’t think they cleaned that well in the clay. The Prado in one of my videos is running them and you can see for yourself. ua-cam.com/video/CFTzhC98gHA/v-deo.html
Excellent, thank you for the feedback! The Black Rhino Sidewinder as a 12 offset (already have them on the truck now with a set of AT tyres fitted). Will get two 275-65-18 Hankook's in 33" and see how she runs. Keep on with the vids, they are truly awesome!!!
Chris, my local tyres shop said 285/65r18 can be done on non-lifted ranger granted positive 15 ish offset wheels are used. Hasnt validated that myself.
Lcr34 they will probably be alright for most driving but may still rub off-road under flex and at full steering lock. Mine has plenty of clearance around the tyres but in certain terrain they sometimes rub. I’m looking at changing my wheels to a positive 18 soon. My rims are to wide and tyres prone to rolling of the rim easily.
Hi Lc34 thanks for the feedback and the effort, i will give the new setup a go and she what she does off roading. The 12 offset would seem to be within the ballpark figure
Matthew Curd hey mate. Sorry for the late reply. I find the Rhino bar great as winch bar as looms good. Never tested its strength but I wouldn’t want to test it. I would suggest a different bar if your worries about animal strikes. I actually run 16” wheels now. They air down much better off road than the 17s which means more traction
TheJanope13 the tyre fits under the rear tub no problem. l've had to change to the spare a few times on the track and it's alot easier to grab it from the top and this way the spare doesn't get dragged through the mud. I may put it back under the tub and use the platform for something else down the track so it's by no means my permanent setup. Hope that helps and thanks for watching and commenting.
mittens the house cat you would need a bigger platform . There are larger platforms that will still fit over the roller shutter that can take a rooftop tent. It's been done. You will probably need to beef up the load rating of the roller shutter tracks .
Love the Ute man. About the roof top tent I no from a lot of research and wanting to do it myself you can’t run a roof top tent on the back of the wildtrak as the channels are only rated to 25kg so it wont hold the weight
Cody Bond I beefed up the support under the roller shutter tracks by replacing there supports with steel angle supported by steel box tube down to the middle tie down point. I can jump up and down on the back of my platform now no problem.
Gmaker202 cheers mate. The antennae is a GME stubby 2.1 db. Not the longest range but good in hilly terrain www.gadgetcity.com.au/gme-original-ae4704b-2.1dbi-heavy-duty-uhf-58cm-stubby-antenna-p-3133.html
CHE isaac , I keep a shovel and pair of black recovery boards (Maxtrax) back there. I have never needed the recovery boards either but I carry them just in case.
Motorhead883_ I love the truck so far. We don't have many options here for a ute ( pick up ) so the ranger is the most popular truck here at the moment. Im not sure what model your getting but where getting a updated model next year.
In Argentina we have many pick up models (such as toyota hilux, ford ranger, dodge ram, volkswagen amarok, chevrolet s10, mitsibishi and so on) due to the patagonia and the fields. At least here, there are many ranger lovers
Motorhead883_ Il be very interested to see how it sells over there. Completely different market. Hopefully it will be popular there and do well against the bigger pick up trucks you guys love so much 👍
I only thought that this type of vehicle was a tax deduction that sat outside the factory office and took the daughters to ballet and the sons to footy , I'm shocked , but its nice to know the government is subsidizing this isn't it .
kyle kyle that's a bit of a hard question to answer. Are you asking how it works or if it works well? I think this article will explain it better than me. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching. practicalmotoring.com.au/car-news/2015-ford-ranger-px-mk2-technical-analysis/
I fall in love with this car every single morning, I just have to turn the key.
The very best decision in my life and the longest relationship.
Jajajaja great i am the same fall in love whit Ranger.
Great driver, this kid has an amazing father
Pedro Jimenez what a compliment thanks 😂
Good to see someone using one finally for the right thing, not as a pavement princess
I check cows in mine all the time, this goat goes through everything.
The nicest looking ranger. Maybe do a walk around?
You sir. I respect for letting us see a new ranger being 'off road' properly. No kidding. These, plus some other track that i watched from you videos are proper stage.

The mods are awesome, I like how the truck looks.
Agent. K. Thanks 😄. Cheers for watching

CRAIG MURPHY , Thanks mate that’s an awesome compliment. Cheers for watching

Ford Ranger for the win!!!

Nirmal Maharjan thanks for the compliment and watching the video. Hope your ranger serves you well in Nepal 👍
Michael Toomer keep it going cheers
New ranger pretty capable little truck
Michael you can drive!. Great work. Great video
Minh Sprint thanks mate!
Hi, i was just wondering what you have done to the suspension, if anything?
I REALLY like the look of that Ford Ranger, I hear we are going to get them in the US, I owned Rangers of old, but then they stopped making them. nice job in the mud also.
David & Cherene Immel US is getting an updated Ranger I believe but in petrol instead of diesel. Thanks mate 😀
So is why ford ranger is my idol best pick
@Tekken 7 Gamer why is it cheap cos use and throw 😅😅
We have a 2018 ford ranger to and i got to say that the ford is just good for offroading
No wonder Ranger sells has just exploded! Ranger is now the Beast.
Nice car nice camera guy nice place 👍
hamid abdrabo cheers for the comments. Toolangi is known for its mud. Not sure if anyone has noticed but right at the start i fall over while running on the mud so the car handles the slippery stuff a lot better than I do.

mark olivares thanks 😃
Are you still liking the tires?
Nice driven is it a 4x4 or Fx4
hey nice vids, wondering where did u order the bull bar or is it a bumper? looking sick
SF Incognito , the bar is from Rhino4x4. Ordered and installed in their headquarters in Mornington Victoria. Cheers

Michael Toomer thanks again brother for your info.
Is this a manual or a auto transmission?
Nice video and nice truck! 👍
Jim H. Thanks mate
I just got the Dick Cepek Extreme tires for my Tundra. I really haven't seen a lot of reviews on them. How are you guys liking them?
Qeldroma3111 I love the traction offroad and on-road handling however I'm afraid they don't seem tough enough for some of the offroad abuse I have thrown at them.

The Beast! Amazing
Wow ford is the best
Brand does not matter all you need is axle clearance if you get stuck you are stuck with at or mt tire
Ford ranger is a beast
Sin duda una verdadera maquina
I love ford ranger number one
Nice throttle control.
Brilliant vid, love the truck! Picked up a PX2 Wildtak as well. I see your running 285-70-17, did the rub with the lift before you had the front bumper replaced? I’m running 17” fuel beast wheels -12 offset. Tyres are Dick Cepek Extreme MT.
Great rig. What are those tyre sizes on it?
Nam Man , they are 285/70r17
Hello. What size tire and tire are you wearing?
i can ride the same watery road with my bike, thanks.
What lift are you running and also what rear bar and side step
Mason Coppens I have a ironman foam cell pro 2” lift, ironman rear protection bar and Uneek4x4 rock sliders
Thanks, and also are you running a rhino bull bar
Mason Coppens Yes it is, check the description for all the mods and brands 👍
ford ranger the best
Michael toomer this pick up is automatic ?
Excellent video.
This is the kind of trail the the power wagon needs to be in
That's not mud, it's just muddy water. You can tell the bottom of those holes are hard ground.
Sum mud
If it was a Hilux going through I bet you’d be singing a different tune
How did you find the Rhino front bar? Im concerned about the strength
and why 17s and not 18s?

WOW SO AMAZING TO FORD😲😲😲😲
Any chance a 4x2 with equally aggressive tyres/lift can made it through the muddy part?
Ramizan Ramlee no chance in the bog holes but on level ground in muddy ruts you should be able to if you have the clearance.
@@michaeltoomer4090are the new
F by 2 ford rangers just the 4 wheel drive package without 4 wheel drive?
If they are, that’s the one I really want!
how come you went with the cargo rack? do the 33"s no longer fit under the ranger?

What antenna mount is that?
Gmaker202 its a GME bracket to suit the Ranger www.gme.net.au/catalogue/antennas/antenna-mounting-hardware/mb051.aspx
Should have asked what antenna that is as well, looks like a great setup!
Lovely Vehicle.
nelson kaiulo thanks
Michael Toomer its an auto transmission right?
nelson kaiulo yes it is
What a monster truck
Is that ranger a diesel, eh?
Yup 3.2 diesel
What brand is the rear bar
Did water get in?
May I know what is those thing on top of ur shutter case behind ??
CHE isaac , I keep a shovel and pair of black recovery boards (Maxtrax) back there. I have never needed the recovery boards either but I carry them just in case.
How do you like the truck so far? Im waiting for it to come out in the u.s to get it
