Another brilliant blog Olly, you and your team are certainly bashing through the fields, great to see how quickly the baled straw is selling. Pleased to see the roundabout works are progressing at last - seven months of road blockage for no reason??? Absolute madness. Strong 97% 👍😊
Good video again Olly. Nice for the non farmers to see what it's all about. Also glad the keyboard warriors have laid off Andrew, thankfully he has yours and your staffs backing. Reading some of the comments the other night I can only be pleased hanging has been abolished!! Your staff are totally highly skilled and dedicated, it's a credit to you to give them an early finish on a Saturday during harvest so as they too can have a life. Good bosses are hard to find 👍
We used to run a canvas sheet attached to the front of the tractor so it laid the hay/ straw flatter and stopping the drawbar gathering the crop up and causing it to bunch it worked well then just roll it up on the front weight when travelling along the road.
You boys want to put that baler onto a ball and spoon hitch! Way better job for the big balers than the drawbar! Less dragging off the row and also way less thumping of the tractor!
Amazing operation you have there....have you ever looked at doing any small bale straw? We looked at a MF1840 baler for consistent size bales and a Bale Baron to create 3 x 7 small bales bound as a big bale but it was a lot of money.
We are at 31.1 C in Central Wisconsin today with a 51% humidity outside as well. And in NV, USA it is 41C today. It is Crazy Weather in the Mid and West part of the US right now.
I am in my home office watching your latest blog on my computer , with the window open and I can smell the newly cut hay. It is 9pm and 22C. I got a glimpse of your new Claas yesterday and it looks massive. I can't wait to see how you harvest the spuds , the last time was over 30 years ago that you grew spuds in the field at the back of my house.

27 C here SW Anglesey but we're close to the coast so sea breeze thank God ! That straw is far too good for bedding, feed quality that. Oh, and the Italians say "Maniana" tomorrow :)
Out of interest, straw at £99/tonne, less rowing, baling, transport costs, how does that compare to replacing the P & K un the soil ? . I’ve been out of farming for 20+ years so I’m not up to speed with fertiliser costs. Nitram was around £80/tonne back then
Can’t believe the nod on the john deer poor driver must be getting sea sick. I know it a big baler! I wonder how it would compare on some of the other tractors.
Quads look good bales , what is the baler that stand out for you olly ie best compaction , knot strength and pick up. Great video olly hope the good old British stays on your side .
Top man 30 degrees roday here in Clowme Derbyshire and not seen any action this way with the harvest startimg. Few fields of barley near me look a little poor and there still pretty green at the min. Just a quick questiom for you. How many acres do you have arable and how much grass?

@@OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer Southern Alberta Canada it has been a very dry summer the crops are 2 week to 3 weeks early cause of the heat and drought.

31.2oC warmest ever recorded day in Northern Ireland. Crops here are dying rather than ripening, but still about 10 days until winter barley ready
