I love these old Timer PSAs, theyre very charming and seem like they could have been helpful to a lower middle income kid back then. But this is the only one where i have no idea what theyre talking about.
This makes sense to me, the ice cubes would keep the veggies from going bad, but then it would be better to just leave your veggie bowl in the fridge and take it out when you want it. I mean, c'mon leaving vegetables by the chair all day?
LOL after thirty years that "OK you're a banana" still makes me laugh! But I will Never eat an Ice Cube Salad, Timer. Yuck. I would rather eat sunshine on a stick!
I think the ice cubes were to keep the vegetables fresh while they were sitting out in the room.. He said " keep it by the tv set for when you want those quick snacks."

sounds like a super lame snack to me! what kid is going to prefer that over a bag of chips or package of Oreos?? im an adult and i'd ever prefer the latter!

My "other knickknacks" would've been chips and Cheetos.

most of the ingredients I agree with except the olives, I don't think kids will go for that.

Actually it does depend on the child, although a bag of chocolate coated raisins certainly is one of my favourites.
