I remember being mesmerized by the banana in this, and how it followed the spoon with its eyes as each scoop drew closer. He really seemed jazzed at the thought of being eaten!
We were lucky to get something like this once a year. The 1970s were not all that fun. There's a reason the people on "That 70s Show" are shown as being so thin.
1a. you press the tip of the banana in like a baby's soft spot so there's an indent to rest a grape 2a. no because there's no marination due to bananas not being great at absorbing liquids without straight up destroying its structure
Two things that instantly come to mind: 1. How on Earth would you be able to put a grape on top of a banana? 2. That banana looked way too cheerful as it basically ate itself.
Trying to promote "healthier" when the reality is the pineapple ring amd yogurt contain just as much sugar as ice cream. Though to be fair, you do get some positive things like probiotics, potassium, and vitamins along with the sugar that ice cream doesn't have.
The thing is that these were not healthy foods in the time period because pineapple rings and yogurts most people would have on hand were usually packed with sugar
FAIL! I tried making a "Saturdae" as a kid. Problem 1: A banana is to fat to fit through a pineapple ring. Problem 2:. How are you supposed to stick a grape on top? Problem 3: Even if you manage to assemble the thing, it will tip over because it's too top heavy.
I was born in 83 and remember watching this as a kid. I tried it out and it was fine if you're a small kid with limited cooking skills and access to food. Honestly, I still enjoy a bowl of cottage cheese and fruit every once in a while as an adult because of it. You should give it a shot. For science!
"Looks like a Sundae!" No it doesn't you filthy liar! If they placed the bannana on it's side and placed pineapple chunks along side it, then yea you can say that.
It's sad that kids today stop being kids at about 7 0r 8 years old, have ZERO imagination, can't read (or just don't want to) can't spell and get bored to distraction without some electronic device to 'entertain' them.

My ding a ling acts the same way.
These are so much better when made with a donut, a candy bar and some ice cream.
😂😂😂😂😂
That's a Whole Weekend!
@@adamjones6308 That's a LOST weekend.
Both sound good.
that banana in a pineapple ring with cottage cheese pubes is to die for................LOL.
Binging with Babish has to make that dessert. 🙂
Most phallic desert on the menu.
Saturday mornings in the 1970s-1980s was the best time to be a kid...Edutainment!
Yes sir!!
i agreed with yoy
I agree. The best times!
I agree
That "Saturday" sure likes how he tastes.
Use yogurt to adhere grape on top of banana
The grapes defying gravity. It truly is a treat.
Ned Flanders favorite dessert.

I remember this! Yes I'm old.
I always wanted to make this... Looking at it, though.. I am blushing.
An innuendo indeed
I found-out a saturdae is a type of candle salad.
I think this was made in Down and Dirty Duck
Their hearts were in the right place and the banana is happy. I approve.
Excellent choice!!!
1. How the hell do you balance a grape on top of a banana?
2. When the banana eats some of the yogurt he's marinating in, does it enhance his flavor?

I love this cartoon!!
I need to try that
Well, at least the banana wasn't thrusting in and out of the pineapple! :P
The banana was very happy to be inside tho
0:18- Looks like cottage cheese for me. Oh, and Exzesion..... either cut out a small hole or smash the grape in. Bananas are soft and pliable.
they were airing this into the early 90's.
These message cartoon clips were awesome. Do they still make these kind of things?
I don't think so. I wish they still did.
IT'S A ROCKET SHIP!!!
Dont forget to add Hot Fudge sauce on top!!
The way the banana’s pointed up looks very phallic...
They should have called it a Bill Clinton dessert!
Latest UA-cam meme: I Don't Even Know If That's PG. 😂🤣
@@Timbrock1000 yes with the Monica Lewinsky cream around it
What does mom do with her saturdaeeeee? ;)
take the strawberry shortcut!

Lmao. It ate the yogurt cream not itself. All I'm thinking of. Is who tf came up with this dessert??
Looks like a superior banana split to me! This is something I still never knew existed.
No ice cream?!
More like Saturday nite lol
My girlfriend used to make these….but she wound up sitting on them. The bananas reaction was the same!
Lmao
boy do i hate it when i try to hit a baseball and turn into a tornado
A banana in a pineapple ring i am not going to tell you what it looks like, just leave it to your imagination.

Oh! I get it
"This Saturdae has been rated R".
Creamy banana bush delight!
I noticed that the yogurt was pink in the container instead of the white.

Good luck balancing a grape on top of a banana. A fool's errand! Childhood was a lie.
Yeah, and a banana is too fat to fit through a pineapple ring!
FAIL!
You know what else is too fat to fit through a pineapple ring?
I'm not a big pineapple person.
Why is the Banana eating itself??
Mike Cee, relax!
THATS CANNIBALISIM
I don't know?
@ubercoolmanna
right! lol!
I like sundaes, but I don't like creamy yogurt phallic aphrodesiacs.
Lmao
Why yogurt?
The thing is that these were not healthy foods in the time period because pineapple rings and yogurts most people would have on hand were usually packed with sugar
I made this Saturday snack and it was fucking Disgusting

Haha true, the physics really don't work out for this one. They produced this entire cartoon without even trying it first?
@@DanielSaner
Probably not.
Notice they show a grape being placed on top of the banana. No need to balance it.
Toothpick
Who came up with this dessert? Is this a real thing ?
What the heck is sat oh no oh no no no no no no oh my gosh it looks like it was in a pacifier

It’s not a good idea to teach kids to eat when they’re feeling down.
the whole point was to offer a healthy alternative to a sundae
All jokes aside, it doesn’t sound all that appealing!
