    Some ppl get paid and then move around in 4 to 6 months. This girl in North Cali made 39 starting which is low for the area then she left in 2 months making $60 then a year later left that job and is not making $68. I say this to say you can jump in due time if you just focus on the experience and move around also the girl got a certification to accommodate her degree . She is now doing CT. I’m not worrying about the pay at entry. I will choose competitive but definitely going to do different modalities

    I wasn't aware an accelerated program is even a thing. As far as I know the ARRT requires over a thousand hours in both class and clinical hours, and my program is 2 years long. I'm rounding out my first year right now. I'm either in class 7:45-2:30 or in clinical from 7-2:30 5 days a week. Me personally, I would say while the material itself isn't too hard, it is just overwhelming with how quickly you have to go and how much of the material you have to learn is what makes it hard. Of course I'm sure when I'm doing radiology physics and memorizing technique next year I'll be changing my mind lol.

I know how you feel with time management, my program was accelerated as well and I was still working when they told us not to LOL. It was hard but my planner was my best friend 😆 & Yes you do not need to do RT(R) for MRI! If you are RT(R) and you want to do other modalities you still have to take the ARRT for each modality, hold up the CEs for them, and keep up the licenses for all. But you got this, just soak everything up like a sponge and you'll be fine girl!

    1 question what are the steps after your associates degree
    2 is the school test hard
    3 can I start with associates degree

    • @AnonymousTaco3472
      @AnonymousTaco3472 8 місяців тому +1

      Im a new rad student, so I can try to answer your questions based of my research.
      1. After you complete your associates degree, you have to get board certified and take the national exam. After you pass, you are now a licensed tech so you can start working where ever you’re hired, from what I know, you can start working before that with a deadline date to get licensure.
      2. I don’t know what you mean by “is the school test hard”
      3. An associates degree is definitely enough to start, in fact, depending where you work and what you do, that is all you need. A lot techs say there’s no difference between pay and job opportunities between associate and bachelor degrees, I’m still a student but from what I see, I’ve seen lots of jobs that prefer or require bachelors and pay better than other jobs, but that’s only specific areas. If you want to go into MRI, CT, Nuclear Med, or even sonography etc. you will have to take certificate programs and pass the boards test for each specific specialty, so you will need certifications along side your degree in order to go into a specialty.
      You also have the option of majoring in a certain specialty such as MRI or Sonography depending on what your school offers, however, I do not recommend that unless you are absolutely certain that’s the only specialty you want to do in your career, or that is the only program you can get into, because if you get a degree in a specialty like that, you’re pretty much stuck there unless you get another degree.
