*Chris Cook* - When you're programming for 5+ years it will change you. I survived Theo Lacy, CYA, and LA Men's Central. The shit I saw when I went in at age 12 much like the speaker and many others when *California Prop 21* was a thing. If you were a minor during that era and you did an adult crime? You can be tried as an adult. Juve - CYA included - is exactly how he explained. If you have enemigos on the street at juve? You're craccen off; without question! State prison? You car up by race regardless of your set. Like, I know inmates who did time at like San Quentin, Folsom, Salinas, etc. - who said doing time in CYA was worser than state just because of politics. Shit, I remember I had to cracc off with a nigga from Bounty Hunter, Grapestreet, T Top, and other rival crips not from 60s. Like real shit! *The LA people see today is NOT the same LA in the 90s.* During the 90s you took flight immediately! Today's generation of "gangsters" are soft man. If people disagree? Look at Snitch Nine. He snitched and plea bargained on his own set! Nevermind the fact he was a hood hopper banging crip only to hood hop in fear of being pacced out! But he snitched on his own gang. If that happened in the 90s in LA? He and his family would've been green lighted.

I spend hours commuting daily on the bus. These uploads are such an awesome thing to have for the ride. They have the added benefit of putting any bad day you had at work into perspective. Salute death!

The first video I watched 2 days ago I had a completely different impression on what this channel was about, I’ve watched like 40 videos since and I had it all wrong. Love this channel man and what it’s about. It’s by FAR the best after lockup show out there. Death you’ve got a legit natural talent and were meant to be in front of the camera man. Very charismatic and your content is great. I can’t sit and listen to a UA-camr for very long if they’re just saying stuff without really saying anything.. All love man keep at it. I was just on this channel today for the first time in 3 years that I started watching in 2015, they had like 100k-200k views per video at the time. I go on it today and all their videos have 5m-20m views. You’re gonna get there for sure 💯

First time in adult prison, a guy used to ask me for a spoon full of dried milk. A few days later we were cell mates and he took me under his wing. 21 years later we're still good friends on the outside. In fact, I'm just going to phone him because his mother has passed. RIP

I've been waiting for you to ask that question about "What would you do if someone told you to go merk that dude" because even though I know I will never go to prison, I have always wondered what the right answer would be. Dude is obviously highly intelligent and damn articulate. Amazed also by his memory skills and the manner in which his input/experience flows so orderly along. Most dudes jump all over the map like bobble-headed rocket bunnies so it’s cool to hear beginning to end stories without getting lost.
Dude is the kind of Brother I always wished I’d had growing up...he can either help you with your Algebra while also putting a beat down on that kid who thought it funny to hit you in the face with a wet squirrel during passing period. Asking for a friend.

I know this video is old, but I recently came across your channel and have been binging all these interviews. Ive got some favorites with crazy stories and peoples personalities but their is nothing better than recovery stories. Ive done some jail time, thankfully only ever county and never prison, although I should have. This guy is one of the coolest cats I’ve heard so far, seriously has his head on straight now and has a path for himself. Jail and prison or “rehabilitation Centers” are the complete opposite, going to jail can easily make you worse off than you were on the streets. You can always tell who wants to do right and who just hasn’t hit bottom yet. You’d think jail or prison would have to be a bottom but we all know it’s not. I know first hand how hard and how much work it takes to change your life around like this guy. Godless to this dude and you Death, truly truly good dude.

That place was a trip wasn't it!!! Did you ever make it to HRO unit? Now they have that center complex in the middle for high risk offenders and it has barb wire fencing around it. That was built after I had turned 18.

Im from Northern California and he reminds me of my pops and my uncle's. Just some OG woods, some white biys tryna make it. My dad n one of my umcles pretty shot out now from doin dope n the other is just in n out of the system n it been that way since I was a kid. I havent been to the pen just done county time. I used to, and someyimes still do, almost wanted to go to prison as a right of passage. Most the men in my family has n damn near everyone of my friends has so i felt like it was part of becoming a man. When i was 18 it wasnt a matter of if it was a matter of when.
