So look I've been in la. County and state prison 4 times I have strikes. The blacks and other are seperate cars. No black is gonna dp an "other" in state prison. In the county it's different we run with them and we go off with them. But in the pen we are seperate and unless the blacks ask us to go off with them we stay out of their business and vice versa.
Exactly. Up here in Northern California Others have their own car. I am a other and we don’t bunk up with any other race but we do somewhat program with the Blacks and Northerners in some prisons. We have relatively small counts but are pretty well connected. Pretty much drama free as well.
When I was in New Folsom B Facility back in 1999-2002, the others ran with the south siders. Only yard I had ever seen that on.

The name of the car in southern cali jails and some prison is "brothers & others. If there is enough others than they have their own car. even if others has own car its still brothers & others as far a side of day room we are on. its turns like southsider and white's two separate cars that share stuff and pretty much have each others back in major riots. white and southsider can fight each other so can brothers vs others but is NOT to common and they normally try to work out problems with each other to avoid riots with people you share the same side of yard and day room with. If there is one Asian he is an other riding in the black car following our politics. Once more others come than they have their own separate car and politics they discipline them selves at that point. Side note almost anyone riding in our car can you use our slang "N" word or blood/crip. So one Asian with 10 black bloods the car might be called blood car or piru car. After spending about 3 weeks with people that use the blood in their slang so much you will start saying it too. same with "N" word you are us so you will talk just like us and we know its coming and don't care. I watched an Other say blood then apologize to real bloods from street for using that word. The bloods laughed at him and said its okay that's how we talk. Then we all came up with two to three weeks is all it takes for your whole slang/ lingo to change up and you can't stop it if you wanted to. You see that's why we let Asian's and others use the "N" word as well they can't not use it if they wanted to its gonna slip. plus the white car see's and treats them just like us just another "N" word.
This really resonated with me. The only time I was down was 30 days in LA county. The day after I got housed a white boy got his ass beat down or running his mouth, and then two weeks later they brought a guy in about 11:00 at night that was withdrawing from heroin and he was dead by 4:00 a.m.. because he died we got to get yanked out of ourselves and put in the day room for about 12 hours. A lot of my white guys in there were stabbed up, in casts, in wheelchairs, or dead. somehow I managed to be the only white guy in there that went out with no marks. And that Golden rule of be yourself is absolutely true!!! I think that's what saved my ass

Weed got me off Black Tar that I was completely stuck on for years. You have to want to be off yourself, you cant just have others telling you, and a will power stronger than you would ever think you could have. But for me, I needed to smoke herb to quit.

Just the act of smoking is a ritual feeling to me so that would give me a relief during the horrible withdraws. Also I have always smoked herb a ton on the daily so when I knew I was quitting black I tried to barely smoke bud for a couple weeks to get my weed tolerance real low. So when I am kicking, I pretty much smoke a 1/2 zip in bong loads in 5-7 days.

Honestly herb can make you feel so much better in a weird subtle way... I remember laughing my ass off from something funny on TV but also feeling the pain and go from laughing to sorta feelin like shedding a tear. Such a weird feeling.

If you are kicking right now, JUST STICK IT OUT YOU GOT IT! Also, it may be hard... But you have to dip on your shit friends you use with. If you havent burned them all off yet you gotta get back to hangin with your old friends that dont use. That kinda company will help you so much, if you are hangin with people that uses... You will be back on before you know it.

I read there used to be a green light on Asians in the LA county jails back in the late 90's to early 2000's, based on long standing racial conflicts between Asian and Mexican gangs.

When I was a teenager we didn't have cell phones and I was on like a 3 day binge with that junk meth and I actually missed a birthday because I was at someone else's house and my parents didnt have their home number. Meth is a helluva drug...

Hell Death I was up for 9 days. I got.pulled over at like 3 am. I thought i herd on the police radio that they found my friends space ship. I even asked the cops how they found my friends space ship. He was like uh? I didnt find no space ship. Lmao🤣🤣🤣😂😂

Very genuine intelligent individual very eloquent I really enjoyed this interview as a other death is doing a good job as a individual who has never and I pray never be in a prison situation just hearing the stuff death and these individuals who grace us with the trauma and speed bumps and laugh is incredible thank you to u al also a survivor and the community is a safe place here 💛l I am a army medic who is offered help for the horrific things we see and the survivors guilt we face the choices we have to make as to preserve life our own or another's is horrific as a nurse also a life is a life I treat without judgement ex prisoners really need more mental health help and counselling and I am from the UK when I here these stories of the usa prison system I am in shock.

The longest I’ve ever stayed up for was 130 hours,basically 5 days,when I was younger. I’ve never hallucinated like I did that time. I was hearing people calling my name constantly and when I went downstairs to the living room I seen a bunch of cats all over the furniture and we had no cats. When I finally crashed out I slept for almost 20 hours. That shit ain’t no fun and I’m glad I don’t do that shit anymore
