Cool rig, I got an 87 yj with a 4.8 vortech, I been so obsessed with it, it's like sickness. But I love to see other peoples rigs and the ideas they come up with, I also like the fact that you didn't just buy all high dollar stuff, you engineered some things as well, really nice work 🤘
Thanks! Honestly I can’t take much credit for dash other than designing it. I drew out my concept and sent it over to Dan at Double D Fabrication. Google Double D Fab and you’ll see what I mean.
@@Justin_Tj It’s a tuffy middle console. It’s the top that came on it. I just replaced the lock that was on it with a biometric one I bought on Amazon. I’ll try to make a video of it, but it’s not hard at all
Awesome build! I just bought a YJ the previous owner put a 4.0 engine it use to be a little 4 cylinder but now I’m having trouble trying to get the harness reconnected.
I had the Warn 8274 on my 65' Fj40 great winch! problem was it disturbed the air flow into the radiator causing the engine to run warm at road speed. I always suspected it was the winch but tried bigger multi row aluminum radiators first, bigger electric fans with no improvement. I finally took the winch off while working on the steering and was on a test run and about 110F air temp (Central CA.) and look at that 180f normal engine temp instead of pushing 200+ so I purchased a Mile marker lower profile winch problem solved!
Very inspiring YJ build. I have a 95 YJ I am building for over landing, and I am looking at doing a double D dash with a heater and possibly JeepAir down the road. What are the technology components that you installed on the dash? All my original gauges are still working, but it may make sense to go with your solution.
I actually had a beautiful stock YJ dash, but after doing the LS swap it just made sense to go with a Holley dash instead of independently wiring all of the Jeep gauges. That and I wanted to use a double din stereo which is difficult to do with the stock dash.
Beautiful man! Getting my 89 mechanically sound first before getting into the “wants”. What width fenders did you go with up front? Studded to say posted on updates. Might be cool to list some other stuff in description like txfr case, tranny, etc. 👍🏼
Witch rampage top is that? For yj. Never seen a fastback look like that? Appreciate your feed back, also have you ever thought about any strech on your yj? Nice rig very cool
I would love to stretch it to LJ length eventually. I plan to keep this rig for the rest of my life so I’m sure I will one of these years when I start running out of project. Next big thing within a couple years is full width ones tons and coilovers
@@sweeneyoffroad its a 90, and it has a sport bar. The smittybilt I have doesn't touch at all, does the family bar hold up the top , and is the rest of the total the same ? I could always get or make it in to a family style I suppose, unless the 1990 is different from a 93??

@@sweeneyoffroad That's understandable. I don't know much about those engines so I thought maybe there was something specific about your choice. I'm sure it has more power than the 2.5 or 4.0 though haha. Thanks a lot for the response, I'll have to look into that, it looks clean
@@diktat6558 The LS platform is definitely the most swapped engine in the US. It’s super reliable and has good power in stock form. They’re everywhere also. I get about 500 hp in this one vs about 180 in my old 4.0. All that said, I absolutely love the 4.0. It might still be my favorite engine.

I have a 93 YJ as well. Your Jeep is definitely an inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

So many creative ideas on this I loved the camera on the front axle

My guy look up the intra pod console by select increments it has a 8 inch sub in it with a mounting spot for an amp underneath the console 👌

Good Job

Nope, I’m in Oklahoma
Did you do a hear insulation on the floor to not get so much heat coming in from the transmission
Heat
No, it’s not unbearable but I have been thinking about adding some insulation under the tub for heat/noise
